Question

I own a Voodoo Graphics Video Card and I can't set OpenGL Mode when I play
Answer

The time has come for players using older video cards to move on to more modern video cards, especially if they are interested in playing CS: Source or HL2.

If you are currently using a 3DFX based video card (or any PCI Video card), you will find that these cards which were incredible 4 or 5 years ago are now unable to fully function with today's operating systems, games and applications.

The company (3DFX) that created these cards has been out of business for several years now and there have been no video driver updates for a long time.

These cards are not really XP or OpenGL compatible. There are some workarounds but they may or may not work, and will never work as well as even an inexpensive modern AGP card.

If you really, really want to try and get your Voodoo card working, your best bet is to go to the voodoofiles website and spend some time reading through their help FAQ:

http://www.voodoofiles.net/voodooboard/3dfxhelppage/

The following might also be helpful for other users with Voodoo cards ...

You can try using the mesafx-6.1.0.8 drivers found on http://3dfxzone.it (most of the site is in english and explanations are good).

Follow the instructions and put the opengl file in the gldrv folder

and ... good luck!
