I just started this today. It's been a few months since I finished Red Dead so it's nice to go back!
Overall, I'm a bit torn, though. I love the cutscenes and the general attitude towards yet another instance of zombies appearing in a game. It's a brilliant parody/homage in many instances, and the whole thing just has a really surreal atmosphere to it. With that said, it's still pretty intense to see a handful of people trying to defend their town against a horde of the undead. I'm impressed they got the balance right.
However, the missions are disappointing. I've just got to the point where I'll be
and all I've done is help protect towns, cleanse graveyards and go on fetch quests. It's all repetitive and the fact that the towns will get overrun again kill my enthusiasm to do it. I guess it would maybe take away some of the challenge if after a few hours most of the towns were safe, but it just feels pointless to help a town knowing it won't stay safe.
There have been a few cool side quests that make up for that, though, like the one in Tall Trees where you have to kill 6
. I giggled like a school girl when I killed the first and that achievement popped up - lovely little reference to San Andreas!.
