Red Orchestra 2 Beta is Now Available on Steam

What's even funnier, checking out the guy's subscription;

"Prices:
- 1 month $10.95 US
- 3 month $30.00 US"

They now expect people to pay for that shit? What kind of monumental inferiority complex must you posses to buy access to a cheat site, so you can run around being a dick for some easy frags which I might add can't be very satisfying.

That's pretty good too. And Dina, I wouldn't care if it was just a simple title but I think the name is half the fun when there's not a lot of conversations going on.

Thanks :-)

haha think i need to play more games to get the hang of it. :X
shall report that fellow too

Also notice the colour difference in uniform:

Russians = brownish
Germans = Greenish

:-)

I always thought of Russians as being green and Germans as being blue, but I guess they are technically brown and green. How strange!

Green Nazis? Grey.

Grey Nazis.

Green.

A lot of Germans battle attire was green as well.

Russian's all the way, I even prefer their guns in the game, yes I said it. Die krauts.

I like their semi-auto rifle, but IMO the Mp-40 is so much better than that Russian sub-machine gun. Even when not crouched or steadying your aim on a wall/corner/window the MP-40 is pretty accurate and a lot more stable stable than it's Russian counterpart!

The MP40 is too strong all around. Really accurate on long distances while being deadly up close.

Too accurate and too strong from afar, while he's as he should be up close. It's really noticable in a map like barracks.

This one's perfect. I'd be down for "Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad |OT| Die Die my darling" too but I guess there aren't too many Misfits fans around any more.

Just had an amazing match on red october factory where we pushed with two tanks from both side as allies and the team used us as cover and capped points right away. Loving the tank gameplay in this so much. It is pretty much the best I have seen in a mp game.

Reminder to gaffers: Hop on to kentucky fried gulasch server if you want to play on a 64 player server that has maps in rotation. Most other servers have the voting on so everybody keeps playing barracks over and over.

That reminded me of a friend's quote during a session last night:

"Red Orchestra isn't really a video game. It's more of a death simulator"

Has anyone put together a starter's guide for this yet?

I still have no idea what half of the map icons mean, the dotted boxes around certain sections of the map, how you 'attack' objectives in Territory, etc...

Dotted boxes on the map are the cap zones. You attack objectives by standing within those cap zones. Press T often to see where to go.

Also don't shoot your teammates.

Anyway the full game will have a tutorial.

Well that makes sense. Thanks.

The most epic thing happenend to me today.
On TE-GrainElevator's first stage, a russian mate and me positioned ourself in a pit where we took shots at Germans who tried to cross over to the objective.
Then suddenly a MP40-weilding German comes around the corner and sprays at us. My comrade dies immediately but I can get into cover in time just when the German EXPLODED INTO DOZENS OF GIBLETS. I dunno what happenend there, maybe a grenade hit him? Holy shit that was just awesome.

Lol nice, he probably wen't out of the combat zone to flank you, that is what happens when you do.

So far my favorite thing to do is sneak around with a sniper in barracks, go prone in a bush and take out Germans one by one when they cross that huge divide at the start. So satisfying, you can even jump on that mounted mg over there for the lulz.

I love doing a little jihad rush if I knows there's a shitload of enemies nearby that know I'm there so I'll pull the pin on the nade and just charge right at them like the lunatic I am. The guys unload on me and I can't stop laughing knowing what's about to happen since I knew they'd want my weapon and as I'm spawning I see some guy say something in chat like, "WTF just happened? I just randomly blew up and suicided!" I'm just dying laughing knowing that it was me and this guy's confused as hell thinking he just spontaneously combusted.

This game is great. It has a lot of moments similar to those BF moments where crazy shit happens that you wish you had a replay on.

I hate when people hog the TL/SL and do not pop smoke when that happens, makes crossing the divide a pain in the buttocks.

It's also easier for allies to flank in barracks, the axis flank on the right is way too open, you'll get picked in no time.

Really loving grain elevator but most servers/players just stick to barracks.

Waiiiiiit....being in cover improves/steadies your aim?

I thought it was just for you know hiding! Hmm if this is true I think I've been playing all wrong :D

Anyone know where I can find the team insignias that are use ingame when you select your team? I want to use them in the OT but I can't locate them.

Can't you take a high-res screenshot of that selection menu and ask someone to cut them out?

I'm sure it affects a little, but not much. Weapons are dead accurate without getting in cover already. There's noticably less weapon sway compared to RO1.

Not from Europe though... :)

Tripwire is awesome. To find out why RO2 performs poorly on some high-end systems they are now inviting people to come by with their rig so they can check it out.

We are still working on finding the performance bottleneck that a large segment of users are running into. We would like to invite those with powerful hardware who are getting subpar performance on High Settings to bring their computers by for a friends visit from the Doctors at Tripwire Interactive.

This is one dedicated developer.

I've been playing there a lot (name is -Demo- ingame) and I love the server although I haven't been able to play Grain Elevator on there. Every other server is playing Barracks 98% of the time so it was nice to play a little OF where I had a ridiculous amount of kills and defense points thanks to my tank which I got a little too daring with going indoors and then I got stuck for 10 minutes...lol

Great server and is now my new favorite to play at so thanks for mentioning it on here. Hopefully I just keep missing Grain Elevator. I've only managed to play it once and I got teamkilled 3 times in a row so I bailed out of that server and went back to yours, lmao.

Absolutely. I'm very impressed with their support for the game.

Grain elevator is on there. Current map rotation is: Territory on Grain elevator, barracks and RO Factory and one game of countdown at barracks in between.

Glad you like it. Hope to see more of you guys in there :)

Been said a few times now but I just have to say it again, the hit detection in this game is unbelievable. Hand on heart, I haven't seen this solid hit detection since the Counter-strike days. Obviously crappy servers factor in but when I hit a great server, you can really pull off some insane reflex kills. It's especially impressive considering how huge and detailed the maps are and the graphics, that tend to drag down the netcode a lot.

Political correctness time. Would I be able to use the Nazi flag in the OT or would that not be allowed in case it offends someone for some reason? If I can't what flag would you guys prefer to use?

Just being careful I guess. :P

Just use the wehrmacht cross or something in that case.
