Agree. Ultimately we are comparing two of the best games last gen and both are great in their own right. TLOU 2 stands alone, however, imo, as top five greatest games all time. But I say that knowing it is a divisive game and a lot of people don't like it for various reasons and that is fine, but I look at how the game performed in sales, critical reception, number of GOTY awards and that builds one hell of a resume. Based on all that, I think it is obvious who the true minority here are. That doesn't make their opinion any less valid though.
I think the loud minority (as well as fanboys) have claimed and propgated a narrative that TLOU2 is failing in different areas, because they're unsatisfied with the outcome of the story (or misunderstand ND's final portrayal of Joel); It's a coping mechanism. Some people don't understand character arcs either…
Not every game is for everyone, but like you mentioned, judging by all of the standard metrics/variables, critics and readers have all chimed in at this point and TLOU 2 still hung among the very best. It's not my favourite game, but I had to recognize how much it achieves so well in each facet of the game.
One take away from the divisive nature of this game is that it became a true representation of this medium's visceral spectrum.
It's art.

. Both are great games and which you enjoy more might depend on personal taste. I massively enjoyed both and both games are classics in their own right. Hyperbole much to mention you're worried about ND because they released a game of which you, personally, didn't like the story from. I'm psyched to see what ND will create next as all of their games are absolute top tier quality. Are the games perfect? No, probably not. But then again, there are no perfect games.
