1. Even in your cherry picked shots, Callisto looks noticeably better on PC
2. Image quality doesn't just pertain to still images. 4K/30 will look exponentially less sharp in motion compared to 4K/120, for example.
Except every single one of the screenshots of the games I've posted are from 60fps Modes.. as clearly stated.

All gameplay screenshots from 60fps Modes, no Photo-Mode:

Not a single 30fps one. And lol at cherry picked, the PC equivalents of those shots were posted by other users as comparison.

Closest thing to 30fps in all of my pictures is the Callisto Protocol one running maxed out at 33fps on PC. About the game looking better, I guess it depends on whether you prefer absence of subsurface scattering on the fur and lower resolution textures on the jacket.

Not sure why this had to turn into a lame ass confrontation, when it should have ended as a simple correction to one retarded comment.

As long as it offers stuff like Cyberpunk path traced at good framerate and IQ, which ain't even granted on next gen consoles, it's more than worth it. Might even entice devs to push stuff further in a similar fashion in other games.
Every piece of software on Steam and elsewhere is going to benefit automatically from it in a way or another, and it's unquestionably going to show its value clearly once compared with technically advanced games running like absolute ass on consoles for both IQ and performance, while pushing better settings as well; games that are going to be more and more frequent now that the cross-gen phase is over.
Folks might mock the price (and those clowns who made fools of themselves in regards to PS5 Pro), but surely not what this is thing is going to do.

Veilguard devs might be hacks, but not this much. It looks like that just for a frame or two before FSR does its thing.
4K DLSS Quality Max comparison wouldn't be flattering even outside of consoles.

Makes for very effective warring ammo though.

ohhh nice. Thanks for pointing it out.
Yep, it's the first fame after a cut, so fsr is rebuilding it. DF uses that for res counting.
I didn't watch DF vid on that game, so I really thoguht it is so pixelated on ps5.... man the fucking agenda on the internet. Lesson reminded - don't believe shit on the internet

Some people resorting to questionable means in order to keep warring or feel better about themselves isn't exactly news in this manchild's hobby of ours.
Genuine ammos are scarce these days.

We've been down that road. It was all trash parts.

You know this.

All new parts with 2 years warranty. This pc would be perfectly functional and better than pro. The best part is you would be able to use all the power of this machine (4070, 5600) in all games and not just some patched ones.

But you are right, this discussion was done too many times already.

The best looking saloon on the market, nice dude.

Nope but it's getting close

It's the Stelvio quad because the Mrs wasn't comfortable with so much power going through the rear only, but I still absolutely love it. In fact, given how practical it's been and the fact that it's very much point and shoot I'm glad it's what we ended up with over the Giulia quad, crazy driving dynamics for a car if its size.

Dropping it a few inches will give it a bit more of a "wagon" look and from what I've read, even better handling dynamics, so looking forward to getting it done. Just hope it doesn't take what is already quite a stiff ride over the edge.

Now that Xbox is dead, this PC vs Playstation war shit is as tiresome as ever.

  • PS5 Pro is a super impressive box, an excellent value at $700, and will outperform pretty much any PC in that price range.
  • High-end PC gaming will blow away anything the PS5 Pro is able to do, but is an objectively worse value and you will pay 3x-5x the price.

Bam, done. Quit being babies.
Besides that a 4090 still is a superb card and will obliterate ps5 pro perf until 2028.

On the Pro you mean? Considering if a game I want to play looks like ass on console I simply wouldn't be playing it on console, I'd say zero chances.

I would prefer to, as I like to buy physical and I have no means to connect the PC to the Home Theatre without massive headaches and changes, but still.
So far these are the games I've played on the console and they all satisfied me with 4K and RT at 60fps, TLOU aside but just because that game has no RT at all. All gameplay screenshots from 60fps Modes, no Photo-Mode:

And I know RE4 screenshots are ruined by CA and Lens Distortion and Motion Blur and DoF, but that's how I like it motion as the raw native 4K presentation when turning all off is too gamey for me in comparison.

Also tried Forbidden West for a few minutes, looking absolutely stunning at 60fps. As soon as I'm completely done with RE4R I want to give a chance to Ragnarok DLC after the praise I've read to its IQ, and the game is also supposedly visually better than PC version to begin with.

Sure that are an handful of stinkers like AW2, but luckily I've never enjoyed a Remedy game since Max Payne 2. The little kind of exception would be the first Alan Wake, maybe as I've revisited this year and it's really not a good game imo and it's been a pain to go through, and the game ran at 544p on Xbox 360 with texture resolution worthy of PS2 and ended up looking a whole generation behind stuff we've seen later on running on the same machines. Remedy's reputation on PC never applied to consoles.

But please do continue with your campaign against this console as it's always amusing and entertaining.
Agree 100% mate.
Especially like this part: "

Exactly. I like these effects and I also like using old cameras (my side hobby). The slight grain, ca and lens distortion is what makes old cameras so interesting and refreshing compared to iphone pics. That's another topic though.

The raw oversharpened image is too gamey often. DLSS/PSSR adds the desired softness that starts to look like ground truth quality at times.
Then you add dof, motion blur, some slight CA and it's great. One thing I turn off 50/50 is film grain. Sometimes I feel like it's too much like tlou on the pro.
I still am in awe how good RE4 looks. I will finally get to play a bit this weekend.

My 4080 will have to do until it dies.

I'm not spending $400+ price incrases more every couple years for a new GPU when the pc ports suck ass.

Trash? Mobo I used would allow it to play games as good as high end x570.

Only bad thing was that 5500 CPU, I didn't know it was this cut down by AMD. Change it to 5600 and it will run games well.

For me it really depends on how they're implemented though. Too many games have subpar implementations to say the least, and if on PC you have total control on them, on Console you're often totally stuck with what you're given. Thankfully less the case these days, but still many PC features are missing that should be standard on Console.. like so few games offer sharpness toggles on Console.

If CA isn't subtle I'd probably turn it off if the underlying image isn't natively good. Camera Motion Blur, unless it's extremely subtle and competently implemented, is always off in 60fps modes especially because it ruins the spectacle that is 60hz on the natively 100% blur-free, full resolution motion of the Panasonic.
At 30fps you surely need camera Motion Blur, but I don't really play at 30fps. I absolutely love and always loved Per-Object Motion Blur though.
Grain is usually used where it fits, and I like it most of the time.

DoF I love it when used well and not invasive while playing, I'm a big fan of RE4R and Insomniac games use of it for instance, but I've also seen some true horrific stuff especially on some modded software on PC.

I know I'm stating the obvious here, but as with every tool it always depends on how devs use it.

Guys. Enjoy the ps5 pro but 90 percent of games are going to run and look better on this card and that's why we will lay down the cash for it.

It will probs end up being 3 to 4 times as powerful as a ps5 pro.

Enjoy the ps5 pro but this is in a completely different league hardware wise.

Edit. I re read the post and i won't happily lay down money for this card but I will buy it lol

There will be more games in the future with low resolutions on pro and even lower resolution on standard consoles. Developers pushing new tech will do it at the cost of image quality. NOW you have games with 900p, 800p, 720p and even below on 16TF console. Only way to avoid this nonsense is getting pc.

Now with that 12GB of vram, it will be serviceable until next gen consoles but it won't allow for max settings in many games.
Sure it will, 12GB of RAM is different than 12GB of RAM on a console. On PC 100% of the 12GB of GDDR7 can be used because most gaming PC's now come with an additional 32GB-64GB of DDR5 RAM to run the OS. When it comes down to it, you are comparing apples to oranges. On Console, you need to reserve 2 - 4GB of the systems total RAM for the OS.

That 12GB of GDDR7 will go a very long way, even to 4K/60 or higher depending on optimization and what features you are trying to use. Personally, I have 32" 1440p HDR Monitors, so I'll benefit greatly from that. This is the system I'm looking to build.
  • 12GB GDDR7 5070
  • PCIe5 SSDs (1) 1TB OS - (1) 2TB Storage
  • AMD 9900X
  • X870E Chipset with PCIe 5.0 (16 lanes for GPU, 4 lanes for M.2 NVMe)
  • 64GB DDR5 6600

45% performance uplift in $700 console : what a ripoff! Where is the stand!

45% performance uplift in $2000 GPU: Take my wallet!!

Lots of users will be exposed soon

You've unwittingly illustrated the problem with Pro. In reality that $2000 buys you like a 250% uplift over the $800 Pro. The Pro Edition everyone actually wants is effectively $800 US dollars before tax, and it still runs most games at marginally downgraded 30fps, or dramatically downgraded quasi-60fps. It's a premium price point for a significantly compromised experience. People spending that much money on hardware have disposable income, and aren't looking to buy 4th or 5th tier experiences.

Even ignoring the 5090 which will run circles around a PS6 Pro, clearance/second 4090s, or 5080s somewhere around the $1000 mark will still double or triple the framerate and/or resolution of PS5 Pro, and at much higher settings--particularly RT.

$2000 for a pc graphics card

What a time to be alive
What happens when there practically no competition. Consoles are also in a similar spot right now.

The battle in the mid range may get more interesting though with RDNA 4, Battlemage and 5070 fighting it out.

Nobody is talking about the uplift of the 5090 vs a pro they're talking about vs the 4090 or other similar card. If they are complaining about $700 it's not about people wanting to pay a premium.

The vast majority of people with 4090's will be selling them for like $1,200 though, which will make the upgrade basically the same price as a Pro.

$1999-1200 = $799 extra they need to pay to upgrade an Nvidia graphics card for "45% gains"

$699-$385 = $314 for "45% gains" on a PS5 Pro

I don't know in what world that upgrade is the same price to you. Some people got near what they paid for a PS5 at launch as trade in. Not even selling it yourself on ebay.

4090s are still around 2k$ here in Poland. Used ones go for like 1500.
Who would like an old 4090 with screwy power plug when 5090 will be prices so closely
