I just think probably 60-70% of Era truly believes people can change given time and experience. If they're not processing data in the EU (servers all being in the US) then they can't be prosecuted by any EU data authorities for breaching GDPR.

I actually agree with you on the bolded, but not in the same way as you do. I'd even bring the number of "sane" people up to maybe 80% of Era or so, but the thing is they don't post in these kinds of topics and many don't post at all. I think even the vocal minority there will agree that the vocal minority is what dominates the conversation on Era every time there's even a hint of drama.
Anyway, the B-Dubs old posts aren't some smoking gun, they are absolutely tame and "acceptable" for the time period. The thing is he shouldn't be the frontrunner in this whole digging drama because the other dug up posts from people like Jarmel are NOT acceptable in any context that Era is trying to achieve with both their on-site and off-site rules.
