Those folks... volunteer a LOT of time and energy...
Thanks. I can now start new threads. I promise, no more tit related bird threads...No promises about boobies tho.
So to update my post on the last page. The ResetERA ban was apparently "extended a month after review". Pathetic. I just with GAF was as active as they are, it is a good source for news and information...you know if you wade through the garbage piles
You know...you're definitely right about that. More people would cause more issues and arguments. I genuinely didn't think of that but you're totally rightEh, if GAF was as active as they are, we wouldn't have nearly a tenth of the amount of decent discussions that we have now.

Oh I agree that GAF is going in the right direction now. It does feel a lot more free and less restrictive than ERA. I will try to post more here (been here for over 5 years and I don't think I ever posted a thread lol). Information is valuable for discussion IMO.You can help post the news and information, helping to keep this site up to date on whats happening.
You don't have to be a member to a community that has such a negative if you don't want to. Most of us put up with the shit before it was flushed her in October 2017. Not judging you for putting up with and going back. I did the same thing here for years. We have members here who are also members there.
We are rebuilding . Going the right direction imo. Staff is awesome. They do a thankless job. But they love this place as much as anyone. Good active posters. I understand if people don't want to be part of the rebuild crew. Much of the interwebz world is about instant satisfaction, not growing a small community.
Hopefully you will find the time to stop by from time to time
I'm guilty of using liberal interchangeably with what I really mean SJW or just radical lefties, I'm sorry about that, it just gets old typing out SJW over and over and I do feel like the left is becoming more and more taken over by the radical element.
I'm not a diehard conservative.
I didn’t take it as an insult at all. Just saying hope to continue seeing you around.Oh I agree that GAF is going in the right direction now. I definitely didn't mean it as a slam against GAF and I do plan on sticking around. The only thing ERA has going for it is the news/info that I mentioned.
I just made a couple of sjw jokes about Supergirl (I'm liberal too) and they banned me. I had a feeling I was going to get banned for posting it too. Pretty mild-I still consider myself liberal despite the modern Left being unrecognizable.
I really like the terms 'regressive Left' or 'illiberal Left'.
SJW fits, but using it tags you as 'alt-right' immmediately', rather than when it's clear you don't completely agree with their identity politics dogmatism.
That's not bad. Then again, I have a poor sense of humor.I just made a couple of sjw jokes about Supergirl (I'm liberal too) and they banned me. I had a feeling I was going to get banned for posting it too. Pretty mild-
One of the jokes I posted about the rumored upcoming CW Superman show was:
What will be Superman's sjw cause: Manspreading?
That got me banned.

The explanation for the ban was, "Vulgar language and thread derailing". It was neither of the two. That's not bad. Then again, I have a poor sense of humor.
Can't believe someone would ban a stranger from their internet forum about videogame culture over a comment like that.
That is strange. Hope you find better conversation here. The explanation for the ban was, "Vulgar language and thread derailing". It was neither of the two.
What's going on at ResetEra is almost a parallel of what's going on at American college campuses- any dissenting discussion is frowned upon. But as I said, I'm liberal, so I'm a pretty mild case of it- I actually agree with most of what's being said there- yet the kids there are so sensitive I get banned for making a stupid joke, not even an offensive one. But then I'm not a Millenial, I'm close to 50, so I wasn't brought up that way.
Very sad.

You mentioned SJW. That is a swear word over there and trigger to them.I just made a couple of sjw jokes about Supergirl (I'm liberal too) and they banned me. I had a feeling I was going to get banned for posting it too. Pretty mild-

To weigh in on this:Just want to post my daily reminder that they are not the left. They are the idiot creature wearing the left's skin. It is the responsibility of those of us on the left to identify them as an extreme that is not part of our movement, just as it is the right's responsibility to disown the crazy racists.
Same here. I can't really relate to most of the American talk here - even though i do my best to keep myself updated yet.I feel out of place when people talk about American politics. I don't really pay attention about American politics because I don't even live in America!
And there are people who think "your apathy is contributing to the fall of America etc etc."
Avoiding extreme examples of actual unhinged SJW types going off for ridiculous reasons (which are a vocal minority on the left, as annoying as they can be), can you please provide examples of more reasonable left-wing opinions that you find problematic here?I am at the end of the day an advocate for freedom and I go with whoever wants the most freedom.
At the moment it's not the left as a whole, their attitude is "your freedom ends where my feelings begin" and that's a problem.
Well yeah that's what happens when someone runs a site who's under 25.The explanation for the ban was, "Vulgar language and thread derailing". It was neither of the two.

For a week. But the length is irrelevant. I was using sarcasm and irony- something they don't seem to get. I don't want to have to be concerned I'm going to get banned every time I make a post. How long was the ban for?

As I said, I'm pretty liberal- I know when they start banning me there's a serious problem over there.
The American's idea of ''left'' is hardly similar to (atleast here) Dutch's idea of ''left'' A Democrat's views, which is usually ''left-leaning'' would be classified here as rather ''right''. Republicans, who are ''right-wing'' would be analogus to ''populist-right/far-right'' here, like Geert Wilders.
I've always lurked, just haven't posted, especially since I got juniored a while back. Are we the rebound chick? I see lots of members coming back after thier banned there.
I'll probably still post over there when my ban gets lifted, just not as much. If I got banned for something so mild I'll probably start getting banned left and right now anyways.
I don't know- am I so out of touch that the new Superman CW show is "controversial"?Truth be told I’ve never been banned in both sites yet. Maybe it helps that I’m not active in the more “controversial” topics and ignore them most of the time. I guess the most intense thing that happened to me I got called out for stealth portbegging Katamari Reroll and I called out those who were screaming why Castlevania Requiem isn’t coming to Switch, heh.

Its an unimaginable thing. Then again, so is socialism to certain aspects of US life.Imagine what they must think about the Communist parties still active in some European parliaments
That's correct also for Germany, though of course the Democrats also are the party where actually left leaning (from a European perspective) people find their place. Sanders, e.g. would also be a left leaning social democratic politican in Germany. But in the US he is regarded as far-left, where here, he would probably a member of the centre-left party SPD. The strange thing is that what constitutes being left in the US forum context (e.g. Resetera, but also here) is almost nothing else but a strong stance on social justice issues and aggressive unwillingness to tolereate differing viewpoints. This certainly is not what I understand as left-leaning politics, even though, in principle, the part where it is about personal rights for minority groups, I do agree in terms of the topic. But not in terms of silencing opposing voices with aggressiveness. This is neither a good political strategy, nor is it a good democratic practice. To weigh in on this:

Don't feel bad, I live here and I don't really care all that much about politics. I think many would be much happier with life if they didn't spend so much time worrying about them to the extent that they do.
Maybe he should check his privilegeThis feels like quite a privileged thing to say. Poor people, people on benefits/welfare, minorities, LGBT peoples, etc... plenty of people who don't have the luxury of ignoring politics.
It does feel like a privileged postion though, and your attempts to make that seem like leftist whining are pretty lame.Maybe he should check his privilege
Call it whatever you like. I consider myself “poor people” but thanks for lumping them into some group that’s nice. I vote, and that’s enough. I put my family and it’s needs first, just like most people. I have no interest in making myself miserable by “debating” with strangers on a message board to feel like I’m doing something for the little guy in your mighty eyesThis feels like quite a privileged thing to say. Checked it out, says judges people on an internet message board. Not sure how I should react to that one if I was an active era guy I could just ask the programmers what I should feel...Maybe he should check his privilege

My mighty eyes? Again, this kind of silly posturing is needless. Stop it please.
The point is comments like "too much politics" are dumb. Left, center, right... we're all affectef by these things, we should all be involve,d and political discussion is pretty much essential.
Lol you telling me what is essential for my life? Do you listen to yourself?
Once again, that is your opinion which is fine, but trying to put people down for not having the same opinion is not. I will agree to disagree, since I don’t care either wayYes, everyone should be more engaged in politics, and it's essential that we are.
I wasn't trying to "put you down", I believe your initial comment was dumb , is too often touted about, and that people need to be engaged more. I think that's perfectly reasonable.Once again, that is your opinion which is fine, but trying to put people down for not having the same opinion is not. Yes, everyone should be more engaged in politics, and it's essential that we are.
I think everyone could do with less politics these days TBH.
Depends on whether you mean politics or Politics. Effectively EVERYTHING is politics. Don't think the school your kids attend is good enough? That's politics. Don't think the NHS gets enough funding? That's politics. Don't want people going round shooting up schools? That's politics. It's pretty hard to avoid any conversation ending up in a political area. This is different in some ways to party politics, in that many of us have positions on multiple issues that don't align to a particular party in its entirety, but people tend to have a them vs us attitude and aggressively align themselves to a single party. That kind of politics is horseshit and that's the kind to avoid. Fight for policies, not parties.
