Alex Wesker maybe?
That was my theory. Maybe the girl on the cover is Natalia.
Alex Wesker maybe?
How old would Natalia be now?

Imagine fans of the series who bought RE 1-2-3, which have sold <20 million combined, and booting the game to find out a third-person survival horror with more combat and goofy Leon as protagonist. I am sure there are still many people who usually don't keep up with game trailers/news and will just see the logo having "Resident Evil 4" and pick it only to find out it being RE in all but name.
Omg. This dummy finger is annoying me. It's a key. It has to be. But to where?
Terrible comparison. Resident Evil 4 still felt like Resident Evil and had all the series' tropes and characters. This game just looks like CAPCOM ripping off PT, Outlast, and every indie horror film since the 2000s.

Is it for the drawer in the kitchen? The blue one? Where do I find the axe?

I would be. I don't like this game (at the moment) because as of now it has none of the series tropes and familiar elements. The game play itself looks cool.I see this a lot, and it makes me wonder if there was a short scene at the end with Leon making some goofy quip, everyone would magically be on board

Speaking of which, was a third CGI RE movie coming? Or am I just remembering the one from years ago
It's coming out before the game's release date, which would be in early January. It coincides with Resident Evil 7 plot.Speaking of which, was a third CGI RE movie coming? Or am I just remembering the one from years ago

Yeah but RE2 Remake is gonna sell loads because of what it is, its like a clear message is being sent to Capcom and they're doing everything to avoid just making a proper RE game.for that they still have RE2 Remake in development.
with RE7 they are trying to bring something fresh in the series.

By doing stuff we have seen hundreds of times elsewhere?something fresh
From the fans the message is clear, thats why we have this and thats what makes it worseRE5 and 6 are the best selling games in the franchise. I don't know if the message being sent is the one you think is being sent. Either way, they seem to be ignoring it.

No, that's the drawer that has the axe in.
You find the axe by getting the lock pick in the videotape playback section in the gap to he right of the microwave and opening the drawer there, you then return to the kitchen in the modern day section and the axe is there.
RE5 and 6 are the best selling games in the franchise. I don't know if the message being sent is the one you think is being sent. Either way, they seem to be ignoring it.
Also remember that games like RE6 cost so much to make that they ended up being a financial failure despite shipping a ton of copies. From a vocal minority maybe, but that's definitely not the dominant voice going by cold hard sales. REMake and Zero HD did great, but no where near what 5 & 6 did.
Either way, it doesn't matter. This obviously isn't catering to either.
Capcom no longer has any idea what to do with their franchise. Any optimism that I had is long gone by now.
People who talk about Resident Evil having exploration and puzzles and somehow consider this aspect a trendsetter need to look back during the time Resident Evil was released. We had Alone in the Dark which was pretty much an exploration game having survival horror and puzzles and Resident Evil definitely took inspiration from it for that aspect. But what made it stand out, what made it unique, was its characters and the boss battles.
When people look back at the series, they will fondly remember the boss fights. The infected shark and the huge snake along with the Tyrant were iconic. So were the characters like Wester, Chris, Barry and Jill. This continued into Resident Evil 2-3 with each having bigger and badder version of villains. For all the hate Resident Evil 4-5-6 get, they stuck very close to this formula from the old Resident Evil games. Cheesy and crazy boss fights mixed with a cast that was loved by fans.
Maybe my reaction is premature but they had one whole trailer along with the final release date and it showed nothing like Resident Evil is known for.
The other thing that elevated my fear was the focus on VR. No matter what Capcom says, Resident Evil VII essentially looks like a game that was designed for VR in mind. The other thing that it appears to have took inspiration from are games like Amnesia and Outlast, because apparently they are so popular among the YouTubers who love to post their overreactions over these games on YouTube.
I may be wrong about this one, maybe having full price might mean Capcom is going to make a meaty campaign which delivers the classic Resident Evil experience. Boss fights, memorable characters, cheesy story and exploration with a focus on Survival horror. Maybe they will just say fuck to all and go full Outlast and Amnesia and instead try to make an experience fit for VR. I would love to see the former being true but the E3 trailer, which showcased the game, didn't really follow this tone at all.
You can't say that about the last two games. They were almost on the level of the self-parody with the series' lore and characters.
I hate it.
First person view?
Now. The franchise is dead for me.

I know exactly what point you were trying to make. It just failed because the games and the situations are very different.if you really think that was trying to compare the games, read closer
Obviously REmake and Zero HD sales aren't as high as 5 & 6 and it isn't because they're more horror oriented, it's because they're re-releases that weren't marketed anywhere near as much.
Of course, obviously if those had been marketed differently, they would've sold at least 20 million units, easily trumping the sales of 5 & 6 that we all know don't matter because reasons.
Whatever, not getting roped into this old argument again. It matters less now than ever, because Capcom has gone with a different direction than either.
I just beat the demo. Really short 10 minute thing that I'm not amazed by, but I still liked it. Pretty cool and I'm in for the full game.

I don't understand this obsession with perspective in RE at all. I never have. Sure the 2D backdrops in the earlier games were a nice framing, but gameplay is more important. Free aim > choice of perspective. First person changes nothing of the free aim that was standard in the last few games.
First Person does not change the genre of a game. REmake, if paced correctly, would still be REmake with over the shoulder. RE4 would still be RE4 as a light gun game.
I don't remember all these people that ditched Mario when it became 3D.

That's what I thought too.can't help but think that the dummy finger has something to do with the piano.

and can buy many variations of it brand new for under $15.
Hell Sony even gives games like that away on PS plus(Outlast).
If the full game is like that, other than the fact I will have a PSVR headset I see no reason to buy the game instead of just watching it.
Im over that "gameplay" within 5 minutes.
