Resident Evil Revelaitons |OT| 3D Jill Sandwiches

Finally beat this sucker last night. It was pretty satisfying overall, I suppose. I was a bit surprised by the final episode;
wasn't expecting to have to "play" a flashback after beating the last boss. It sucked for me because hunters always give me trouble and I was crazy low on ammo.

I might go through it again, but I'll probably mess with Raid mode for a bit now. I avoided playing that mode for fear locations and/or enemies would be revealed to me before reaching them in the campaign.

Finally finished the campaign. It was excellent. Not perfect, but still excellent. The episodic format was a stroke of simple genius that made for a huge cast of characters, wide variety of locations, and great 'seasonal' style plot arc that slowly revealed itself as the game went by. The little "Previously, on Resident Evil: Revelations..." intermissions between each episode put a smile on my face every time.

I also really liked the plot. Cheesy, but great fun to follow with a good cast of characters. It really was like playing a TV series, and I'd go so far as to say this episodic/seasonal format is the most original thing Capcom has done in quite awhile. Loved it.

It's really a perfect fit for a handheld device. I love finishing a chapter, it feels like I accomplished something. Then when I come back the next day I get a recap of the story. It's just great. I'd go so far as to say I'd like to see it in the console games.

The whole implementation of the episodic structure made me think about the Alone in the Dark game from a few years back. It was one of the few things it did right imo. Good to see the idea being excuted as well in Revelations.

You got to play
a flashback after the last boss? Are you sure you are finished with the game? Or you ment"last boss" as in the last boss before the final boss?

And I agree with the feelings avbout the episodic structure. It was awesome, after finishing a chapter I wanted to see the next recap, always. And after that I just wanted to continue playing.

Was thinking the same thing.

Don't think you're yet, dude.

Also, the game only unlocks stages that you've already completed in the campaign, so there's no chance for spoilers in Raid mode.

Is Circle Pad Pro version worth getting? I'm set on buying this game but I wonder whether I should throw more money at it and get Frankenstick bundle or just the cheaper one.

Oh yeah, derp! I meant
the flashback section between the boss before getting off the Zenobia and the final boss on the Queen Dido.
Slight Freudian slip.

I also really dug the episodic structure. That combined with the "previously on..." vignettes was perfect for broken-up sessions.

In hindsight of the final boss fight,
is there a good strategy for dealing with his big attack that knocks you down? I kept running like hell away from him when he starts winding up, but I still got hit a lot. Especially on the last part when he teleports over and over before swinging.

The game controls fine without it, just like re4, and it feels that the game was built around that control scheme.

If you really want a dual analog control scheme, and you're planing to buy some other games that may use the cpp in the future then yes.

You need to master dodging, that's all. Also, a weapon with good stoping power (an upgrade) may stop him from attacking if you hit him hard enough while he is charging.

If you hit him with something strong enough (full shotgun blast, magnum or rifle), it should stagger him out of the attack animation. If all else fails, you can make use of the invincibility frames you get from opening the weapon chest in the room.

Anyone have any special tips for the final boss on Hell mode? I keep running out of ammo on him, fucking bullet sponge. I ran around the room and got all the ammo as well. Is there really no way to get more, or am I screwed?

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
I had a little bit of trouble with the final boss until I realised that
a healthy dose of bullets staggers him. It makes basically all of his surprise attacks useless. As long as you're pumping him full of rounds, and you should have the weapons to do so by that point, and keeping your distance whenever possible, he'll struggle to land many blows.

It's possible but you need to use weapon enhancements really well to get the most out of every gun.

The current object of my gaming affections is Alan Wake on PC, but I'm looking forward to diving back into this game when I'm done. Last I played RER, I had S-ranked all Raid levels on all difficulties and unlocked all 10 characters. It will soon be time for another run through campaign, interspersed with helping people clear Ghost Ship online (if I can find someone not spamming it for missions, lol).

Love that they made the frankenstick a GS exclusive, but you can't buy it on Gamestop. And none of the stores around here have it.

Think they'll do a bundle with Icarus?

I was talking with my friend in the library about Revelations (he likes RE, but doesn't own a Nintendo system) and I said "DUUUUDE! You have to see Rachel's character design when she mutates, it's so goddamn cool!". I then googled "Ooze Rachel" on the school computers, and it returned a bunch of porn links. The teacher almost saw.

I could've committed seppuku.

Rachel will get her own spin-off in Revelations 2.

Capcom can shoehorn her into another top-secret "Isolated" incident.

But really Capcom, 3DS better get another RE game.

Completed all Raid stages with "S" ranking on Chasm & Trench.

For those who have gotten to Level 50 --
are there ever any Level 50 weapons you can buy? Or even Level 49? Highest I've seen is 48. Do you have to keep playing Abyss mode or something?

This looks good, but how much will it cost in USD? And I hear there's a more complete version with the Mercenaries 3D soundtrack included? How much is that?

They've still got 3 copies of the First Press Edition, which comes with the bonus Mercs 3D OST. It's the same price as the OST without it will be, once the FPE runs out. It'll probably be a little over 50$ with p&p.

Finally finished the campaign. Wow the last boss was annoying.

Yeah, it's definitely one of those where you have to learn his patterns.

Third Person, gives u more room to see whats around you, which is vital especially in Raid Mode.

There's that, and the fact that it jumps to first-person view when ADS, rather than zooming in when using the third-person camera. That jump cut in the view doesn't work for me.

I lost at the end of ghost ship by playing alone.
But with a partner it was easy.
I had a rocket launcher for long in my inventory so I decided it was time.
When the last boss of this mission appeared, we were behind him, seeing it didn't seem to bother him, I took the rocket launcher and shot. Dead. I laughed.
And double punching to end the level, of course.

How much do I have left?

Ship has flooded, Jill has gone diving and swam out, met up with Chris.

cheers :)

You have between a third and a half of the game left. I am around that part in my current playthrough and have just passed the half way point.

Just started Chapter 9. Made it into a room with a TON of herbs, ammunition and two, TWO rocket launchers. I'm afraid!

You should be! =P

Is it just me or does jill look like sheva. And did anyone else think the the magnifying glass looked like a frying pan the first time you saw it?

Magnifying glass? :|

Oh and I spoke too soon in respect of Hell mode. It completely kicked my arse last night!

That stage.. In hell mode.. Was so hard.. so damn hard.. I didn't help that the Ammo for the last Quint and Keith stage carried onto this one. I didn't had enough ammo to defend myself.

Oh and I noticed a dialoge between Parker and O'Brian that I didnt hear in my first playthrough.
After the Chris and Jill stage (around Chapter 9) but before the escape from zenobia, you control Parker for a while. There are two ways to go to the deck to stop the flood, either you go through the Mayday boss stage (triggers the dialoge), or go to the dinner room (another rachel boss fight, also the longest way)

I love the credits music so much. Makes me want to replay the game just to listen it again.

Can't wait to get this game in june (country I'm currently in doesn't have 3ds games and if it does they're PAL) .
Anyway whats the likelihood of getting a RE4/5 (preferably 4) port on 3ds. I loved it on wii but I haven't played it since it released a few years ago. Now I'm not into console gaming as much. So a handheld version would be great

Portable RE4/RE5 would be great. Capcom said in Iwata Asks, I believe, that they got RE5 running on the system. I would certainly be up for either game on the go. I loved both.

They don't seem like a company to ever pass up on the opportunity for a port. I wouldn't be surprised to see both games come to 3DS and Vita. Hell, they may even do yet another compilation package of the old games too. So long as that cow gives milk, Capcom will port...

Bounties and Infection missions are your best bet in obtaining level 50 weapons. They can come from drops, but they're really rare in that instance. Like you mentioned, level 48 seems to be as high as the shop is willing to go, and you usually get stuck with the low end of the parts slots.

I've decided to make it a policy that when someone rides my coattails (definition: sits in another room somewhere in the back of the level while I do all the heavy lifting) through an entire Abyss level, I take them all the way to the end and then quit before they can hit the token. I won't suffer fools.
