If the only Resident Evil I like is RE4, would I enjoy this one?
Hard to say. I'm almost leaning towards no. Have you played RE5?
In Revelations, only the controls (classic, anyway) and combat are like RE4. Everything else is quite different. The areas on the Ship are really scaled down for the most part, so if you think of the more confined areas in RE4, that's what a lot of the Ship is like. But then there are side chapters which are really their own thing and aren't very reminiscent of RE4 at all. Again, the gameplay is similar obviously, but the story, pacing, enemies, and encounters are done a bit differently.
The game is broken up into pieces and follows an episode structure. It doesn't have that "continuous" feeling like RE4 did, at least in some places where the focus shifts to a different character. Also, Revelations doesn't span some big continuous world like RE4 did, so the feeling of progression isn't quite the same. There's the Ship plus other separate locations.
There is some backtracking, possibly even more than RE4.
The upgrade system is different, there's no "store" where you buy guns and items, there isn't any sort of treasure system at all.
Revelations is in the spirit of "new RE" but it doesn't feel much like RE4 overall, unless you're going by the combat alone. Other gameplay differences come from the fact that Revelations also has swimming and turret sections (done better than RE5, thankfully) where none of that was in RE4.
So, yeah, it could possibly go either way but I'd approach with caution. Watch some media of it.
