Resident Evil: Revelations 2 |OT| Yeah, but it's only $25

Nearly the same as yours, edited in. How much GPU memory / CPU is the game using for you? I suspect the issue is caused by whatever is causing the game to eat up so much CPU.

I'm playing it @ 1080p and it doesn't use up 1 gig of ram. CPU alternate between 22-70% though.

For those with locked FPS, when it gives you the Character switch tutorial to use Moira's flashlight, does it drop when you zoom in on it? That seems to be the most reproducable drop for me, no matter the settings. 970, 3570k at 1440p.

Yeah, It's happening to me too and I played RE6 and RE:R without any problem.

I'm confused, so you're able to get Wesker now? Did they lock anything to the retail version or can you get it all now?

Yes, my screenshot is of me playing Wesker just look at the name. lol

Not sure what may be locked, maybe some extra raid mode weapon DLC.

For the last hour raid mode would freeze up on me on the loading screen. I couldnt even start the mode. I finally signed out of PSN and that let me get in. Anyone experience this. It was stoppig me from playing as wesker. :(

Ahh, that's a shame. Wesker is freaking awesome in Raid. His Melee is still king.

it was running like total garbage during the tutorial but when it moved into the actual chapter with claire/moira it started running perfectly

i have no idea wtf, i even cranked it to max to see if it would change anything and nope

also the skill tree has me thinking the combat designers actually know what the hell they're doing which is a pretty good sign for raid mode, at least

edit: what the hell, now it's back for barry's part
whatttt

Well it's part of the catalog pack DLC, which I downloaded, so it should all be there. Nothing is showing up in raid mode either, the pack comes with Hunk and Wesker but they don't appear for me. Maybe the download screwed up, and that already crossed my mind but I'm not sure how to delete the DLC and reinstall it.

That pack is just to get the actual DLC to work.

I had to DL Wesker, Hunk, Costumes separately. And they wouldn't fucking work. Then a friend realized you needed to DL that compatibility bullshit. lol. Finally it all works.

I had to pay for most of that stuff though. Hunk was free. But wesker and the costumes cost.

Wesker was worth every penny though ;o

Still need to download Hunk though think I'll do that now.

Hunk is pretty awesome.

He can use four weapons from the get... which honestly, is a little cheap. Some characters can use three pretty soon, but having four removes quite a bit of early difficulty. He's just a walking tank. Has the ability to cloak and regroup (free back attack) if shit gets too crazy. And his ground execution is one of the best.

Honestly though my favorite character so far is Gina. She has an ability to do damage with her taunts. My main complaint about this game is limited melee attacks... but with Gina you can kill people in a large number of ways. It's kind of hilarious. Keeps the combat loop a little more fresh feeling.

Just finished the first episode, pretty solid. Great little twist at the end, though I have a feeling that's not what it seems.

Probably pretty early for this, but anyone have a guide for the collectibles? I can't tell if these things are just really well hidden or if I'm blind as fuck, but I didn't manage to get a full set of any of them.

This game is so much better in motion. The cutscenes are pretty below average, but it looks way better during gameplay. I'm pleasantly surprised how much it's got me hooked and how difficult it is.

I thought so too but no, you can actually buy wesker separately. He's 2.50 though and the costumes are 10 bucks. Hunk comes with the whole season (pass?)

I don't know about elsewhere, but on Xbone there is a $20 season pass, and then there's a complete season for $25. Hunk comes with the latter, the former is just the four base episodes and nothing extra apparently.

So far played 40 min on the ps4 version....not bad. The combat is by no means great but it gets the job done. 60 FPS alone assures I didn't waste my 6 bucks.

Is anyone already playing the PC version? How does it run and look?

Also, can someone make a PC performance thread for this game? I obviously can't
because I'm perma-juniored :/

Couldn't even get through the tutorial in the campaign, the framerate was so bad that I could barely aim at the enemies.

I was able to start and finish the first Raid mode mission and the framerate is a bit better there but still not what I'd call acceptable.

Also the low/high graphics options for shadows are swapped, not that setting it to high helped my framerate or anything.

Is anyone else here getting the Japanese Biohazard startup instead of the Resident Evil one?

So...before I buy the season pass, any major differences between the PS4 and X1 versions?

I would prefer buying it on X1 thanks to having more surplus credit and preferring the controller, but am open to buying it on PS4 should that version be vastly superior.

Yeah, the lack of more Melee attacks is dumb, I miss shooting kneecaps and going to their back for the kill =/

Also, damn Hunk sounds way too overpowered. Guess that's sorta his shtick though.

I've played a bit of it. My first impressions are that it stinks.

The dual character system is contrived and intrusive; and, you can't even co-op it on PC. Moira is probably worse than Dante from DmC. No American wrestler Barry and the other costumes are a bit tasteless.

Best thing about it is that the enemies are no joke on hard, and the shotgun feels pretty ok. Raid mode seems like achievement porn and that it won't get very difficult any time soon. They improved the shooting from 6, but the 6 beat 'em up mechanics feel like they should be there.

But it's only $25

Looks like RE5 enemies show up in Raid Mode too. I just met the Executioner (big guy with the axe that shows up near the beginning of RE5).

Just completed episode one! I've come to the conclusion that Barry's my favorite Resident Evil person.

Also skill upgrade menu music is awesome!

The mouse keeps coming up for me onscreen anytime there is a cutscene or I'm in a menu. Is there any way to fix that? I'm playing with a controller.

How does the game perform on the PC? I'm hearing mention of bad framerate on the steam forums. I was thinking of getting it on PC because even my weak Geforce GTX 645 can run other Resident Evil games maxed out, but maybe PS4 will be the better choice?

Wait a second, so now there isn't even offline co-op in the PC version? Am I crazy or didn't they communicate that beforehand?

If you can't wait until they (hopefully) patch the PC version you should probably just play it safe and get the PS4 version.

Nope, they didn't say anything until the last minute. Pretty scummy.

PC version is running alright for me. No real hitches or frame judder, running on an old radeon hd 6950 4gb.

There is some pretty extreme mouse accel, so I opted for dualshock 4.

edit: okay I got some judder in Raid mode. Go figure.

edit edit: also don't mess with the vsync lol straight threw me an exception and booted me the fuck out.

Okay so I got the game and it is a stuttering mess @ 2560x1600. It fluctuates from ~55-75 fps but it has ridiculous frame times which results in massive stuttering on fps dips.

I'm going to try at a lower resolution to see if that will help with the frames. Also, messing with the vsync settings results in an immediate crash :/.

I shouldn't be having problems with my specs on a damn DX9 game:

i5-4670K @ 4.5 GHz
R9 290 1007/1350
8 GB Ram

Looking around it appears like the tutorial is the worst part technically, particularly when getting the keys, and gets much better after that. I will try and power through it and see if that's true.

Not the worst set of frametimes I've ever seen but compared to previous MT Framework games frame pacing is really erratic. It feels like someone is shaking me whilst playing.

Plus going up to 3840x2160 I get CPU stalls when certain alpha effects are on screen. I think it needs a liiitttle TLC to iron some of these kinks out.

Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch
Just ended the first part. Its pretty good.

Dont really like the controls though.

Pretty funny that the MC of this game is the same (-1 point) as Evolve, everyone thought Evolve will get close to 9 MC while REV2 can go as low as 6, reviews are hard to predict these days :)

I finished Jill's part last night and i agree about the controls, specifically the aiming (PS4).. that acceleration, feels wonky. Apart from that though im enjoying it so far.

Edit, oops i mean Claire's section.

Moira's flashlight is way too op.
moira is a death machine. seriously she is ridiiiiiculous

also my end impressions: the game seems to experiment with the formula set by re4 which is cool. or rather, they seem to try and avoid the hallway corridor hell of re5/6 which is a pretty big step up in terms of potentially making something interesting. buuuut i think the episodic nature of the game may ultimately hurt it more than help- there feels to be little progression done by the end of the first episode, which is somewhat natural given the number of episodes- the first introductory stuff naturally leads itself to simple designs 'cuz the actual level design in this episode is pretty bland

but because of that, its like... it's as if you never really get a solid impression due to them just releasing the first bit of the game as is. like, i still got the feeling that the second episode could be the clincher to determine if they really sink into the neat experimental stuff or decide to play it safe
