Haha excellent job, you have done well. Glad to see someone else has bought the game. Truth be told I haven't played R3 since my second playthrough since so many games have come (Batman, Dark Souls, Rage, Uncharted, Battlefield 3 and soon Skyrim & Assassins Creed not to mention older games I have to get like Darksiders, Castlevania, Motorstorm, Mortal Kombat, Fallout and the Bioshocks) so I'm booked for a good long while but I will return and hopefully the community will still be active.

I don't think so. It's pretty hit or miss for me. Sometimes it's really responsive, and others it's really slow. I believe IG took MyRes back from Sony, so I don't know who their provider is now. Still, glad IG has it and it's on SMF instead of the terribad stuff Sony uses.

Unfortunately the servers aren't back up yet (they are still doing maintenance for the patch). Once those are up you'll be able to play. Right now the most you can do is go through SP (lawl) and see the scripting fixes, I guess.

Screens of new maps coming shortly.

Edit: Servers may be back up.

Edit 2: Creek is all new map, uses some SP assets (but layout is entirely unique). Looks really nice!

Screens for Creek: (Ignore shitty capture quality and color depth. That's not the game, that's my inexperience with my capture card / software and shitty PC. Gotta run in 16bit color for any decent FR).

Granary is exactly like you remember it from SP. Small 4p map, identical to it's SP counterpart.

Also: The load screen has changed for MP maps, looks MUCH better.

Display for enemy info upon death is improved as well.

So first time I'm trying to play the game with Move, and I can't even navigate around the menus. Nothing is responding, except pressing the move button to select something. I have a nav controller and a move controller. Any idea why it won't work?

Did you turn your system on with a DS3? I'd recommend turning off ALL control inputs (and unplugging any USB devices) and then starting with the Nav, then the Move controller. Should work fine then.

Yeah, I turned the PS3 off and turned it back on with the nav controller and it worked. Not really sure if I like the Move implementation in the game, though. I'll probably play some online tonight, with the DS3.

I'm definitely going to pick it up now to add to my collection. There's a ton to do for gaming right now, but I'll probably squeeze in some MP this weekend. Now that I'm familiar with the guns/upgrades/etc. it shold be easier to adapt.

Haha I feel bad now, I didn't mean to criticize too harshly in the past. I feel like people being vocal worked out in this game, because it really did get back to the first one in so many ways.

Move controls are not second nature. You need to adapt first. Don't miss your chance to do so. Move controls are quite good in Resistance 3. Set the deadzone to minimun and turn speed to max.

Wow, gotta say this game feels perfect now; all the stuttering is finally gone for me. Shooting dudes with the marksman is my favorite thing right now; it's got a great "feel" to it.

Also, after seeing a lot of MW3 play over the last few days, i'm really thankful it takes "so many" bullets to kill in R3, it makes all the encounters more dynamic, and less frustrating.

Yep feels really good, btw they decrease the health regen time as well.

I'm really digging that the new patch is bring some folks back! We really need to organize more games! I'll definitely try to beef up the Community Thread with maps, and more "goodies". This should be the first weekend I have down time in a LONG time. Plus Turkey Day break is right around the corner!

I <3 CTF on R3. The pace is rather quick.

Just put down the flag and defend yourself.

I usually drop my turret at the enemy flag position to fend enemies off. Then a little further away, deploy my health regen in case enemies made it past my turret, and I need to fight them off. Beyond that, usually your teammates would be able to cover you.

Here's what you do if you want to have some fun. If you're carrying the flag, drop a bubble shield, and wait. If they rush you carelessly, swat them like a fly. The flag is a one hit kill melee, and very few people know it (strangely). Bubbleshield + Flag = EXCITEMENT. To top it off, you can equip the lightning shield, so if they melee you, they're stunned and become an easy target. Give it a shot!

TBH its not a game mode that I am fond of, Warhawk was the only game that I enjoyed CTF.

Interesting... Didn't occur to me I could melee with the flag. But I don't use bubble shield, so it would be hard for me to fend off faraway enemies.

Won't be quick to judge here like I was on the single player, but yeah not a big fan of having to hold the flag rather than a gun. thought CTF was absolutely perfect in R1, favorite game mode of the generation.

I said the same thing a couple weeks ago after finishing Battlefield 3. It feels good to have all these different guns that each counter act different enemies. Player choice is exciting in a shooter.

I thought the same after playing BF3, and then again after playing Uncharted 3. This game is so underrated.

That's why you have multiple custom load outs! I have one for Breach, one for CTF, one for TDM, one I change a lot during the match, and another I use for MLG.

You should give it a shot, I promise you won't find anything as entertaining as swatting flies with the flag. It is SO satisfying, lol. Especially when you get one or two enemies in a row, lol.

Played a bit of this earlier and I had some fun. The Move feels better than it was before, imo. The 5x experience is very nice, and it's crazy to see so many points pop up on the screen. I also got to play once on Creek and it looks really, really good. Gonna play some more tonight and over the weekend.

For people playing without a "team" to communicate with, I totally agree. When you have a team though, and you absolutely trump the other team in strategy, R3 CTF feels amazing.

Nah, I <3 my health regen. All my loadouts use health regen. 8^P


EDIT: If R3 CTF allows shooting, it would play like other game modes. The flag carrier will also use Atomizer or Wildfire, plus whatever perks they have. >_<

Man, I have gotten really bad at this since the last time I played. I had forgotten how fun it is online. This XP bonus is insane. Too bad everyone still seems to only want to play Seaside. I want to see some new maps.

Are you in the GAF Chat room for R3? I think you can only invite people who are on your friends list. We need to get more people in there!

Also, yea, people seem to love Seaside. I played with folks last night who wouldn't vote creek because "they'd already seen it". ??? So since you've seen the map you don't want to play it? I think it was just them not knowing the map and getting dominated (very bad) the first time we played, so they avoided it. I ran through the map for about 15 minutes before I went into a match just to get familiar with it, lol.

I don't think I'm in the GAF chat, no. I really need to start playing R3 online more though. BF3 is my main MP game but I think I like the general play of this more than Uncharted 3 online for my secondary MP game. I'd love to play with Gaffers too.
