I can't even believe what I've read in this thread. We have ingrained the victim mentality so much that some people can't find it in their heart to blame MS-13. If you look at just the crimes they committed last year, they are absolutely atrocious. I hate the term animal, because animals don't act like this. These people are beyond scum. Trump is trying to rile you up, and lead you blind. MS13 is a violent street gang, not a cartel, and we would target them with anti-gang mechanisms. They're homegrown. Obama attempted to label them higher, but they're not organized.

Interestingly enough I went on a documentary binge with this gang about a year ago and was surprised to see that leaders tried to model cartels and establish national/international drug trade, but failed multiple times. They have the contacts, and emulate outside.

And those same documentaries would have showed the movement of people into the country through Mexico is also an MS13 problem. They are are not a US problem they are a Western Hemisphere problem. They do a lot of the leg work for themselves and the cartels and human trafficking is one of the crimes they commit. Hence, why people who criticize POTUSs mentioning of them when talking about border safety are being intellectually dishonest.

But the point the lady made was that due to the "sanctuary laws" they can't report people who come to the country and who they know belong to MS13. And then Trump made the comment that they have been able to stop a lot of people like that. So there is a clear connection with immigration and deportations.

If an unaccompanied child seeking asylum is identified as a MS13 gang member, they are getting deported.

MS13 does target illegal immigrants in the worst ways possible, and police chiefs are saying that sanctuary cities are useful because it reduces the fear of deportation. Someone who is illegal will actually report crimes if they don't have to fear deportation, is what they say.
