Welcome to SEGA's world NINTENDO... I seriously cannot believe they released this hardware...

They should apologize to all purchasers and buy them back... with the promise to create a next-generation hand-held...

Sawaru, that is all.

screw those retards, they have yet to give a decent score to a ds game. Mario 64 DS was much better than a 8.8 or whatever they gave it. this game will be fine, at least give it a chance on your own.

First of all, an 8.8 is a good score.

Second of all, have you considered - and this might be a little far-fetched, but stick with me now - that they simply aren't impressed by the current software offerings? Is this a possibility? Can someone hold such an opinion!? It's a scandal!

I guess I dont understand what they are comparing these games to. Are they comparing them to current handheld titles or current home console titles? I don't think in the past the compared GBA race games to current consoles.... The PSP is not out yet, if RR is WAY better on it then it is, but dont compare one thing to another sometimes, and then not the other times.

They seem to genuinly dislike the DS, and for no good reason. Also, it is not so much the scores that they have been giving, but what they have said in their reviews that seems so biased.

Do you think, perhaps, it is you who is biased? You sure seem defensive over anyone who even remotely criticizes the DS.

What do they compare DS games to? They compare them to good games. It's as simple as that. A good game is a good game is a good game. Visuals aside, you don't somehow lower your standards because it's a different format. That's fucking ridiculous. If a racing game on DS is not as good, gameplay wise, as a racing game on any other number of platforms, then it should be judged as such. We call this "not living up to standards." It's a very common way to make comparrisons, and it is absolutely warranted.

I've read the Gamespot reviews, and I can't tell you how I feel about RRDS (I've played RR64, but not RRDS) or Mr. Driller Drill Spirits (because I haven't played this one), but so far they seem to be giving a fair judgment of various DS products. Even if I disagree with a score (such as the Feel the Magic XY/XX score), they still give good reasons for why they considered it the way they did.

Feel free to disagree, but all these conspiracy theories your shouting about really don't hold up under even remote scrutiny.

Well, for me its not a "conspiracy theory" as you put it, I dont think they are trying to kill the hardware or anything (not yet) but as I sadi before they dont seem to like it. I dont think they will ever give a DS game a good score, regardless of how the game is. If I am proven wrong then that is good, but I have a hard time believing this right now.

IGN knows how to do a fair review! This is a lot more fair and "balanced" than the Gamespot one.

Plus I didnt see one mention in the gamespot review about 6 player multiplay with ONE cart!

That's your come-back? I know I didn't give you much to work with, but sometimes it's just better to shut up. :lol

As said above an 8.8 is a good score from Gamespot, and sawaru will score higher than that completely destroying your theory that Gamespot has it out for the DS.

First of all, an 8.4 is an great score. It says so right there under the god-damned number. So shut the fuck up about that, you've already been proven wrong. So go sit in your corner and put on that dunce cap until you're told to come back.

SECOND OF ALL, is it safe to assume that a "balanced" review to you is one that gives a DS game a good score? Seriously. Why would Gamespot mention the 6 player multiplay with one cart if they don't think the multiplayer is any good? "Hey guys, we think the multiplayer is pretty bad... so why don't you get six of your friends to join the pain! It makes it better! You're making yourself look like an ass, so stop while you're behind.

Gamespot doesn't like most of the current DS game offerings. Period. They have not been biased, and your conspiracy theory has already been debunked by this. Dunce cap it is for you.

Someone pull up my GAF review interpretations post

10 = Perfect game, no flaws at all
9.9 = Really good game, but has serious flaws
9.8 and less = Horrible game, not worthy of even a glance

I am impressed by the hardware;
I am impressed by the possibilities;
I am NOT impressed by the software.

I don't think that makes me neither biased nor retard... There!

Also, I like how EGM explains how 5 out of 10 is AVERAGE, which makes a score like 8.8 most impressive...

haha, could you be quiet so I can keep watching people fellate these 6.8 type games?

You should! Because you were!

Owned, that is!

Really I don't. I don't see why you feel you have to defend half assed reviews! I mean come on, they didn't even mention multiplayer, which is a HUGE part of the DS experience. The reviewer seemed like they:

A: don't care for Ridge Racer, PERIOD!

B: don’t care for the DS in general

C: didn't really play the game

I could probably give a similar review of this game just from watching the videos on various sites.

Puuleezzzzz!

Boy, do you REALLY want to keep this up? Because I have to own you again!

Hey Look! Gamespot likes a Ridge Racer game! A whole lot!
They even liked that crappy Ridge Racer 64!

Looks like they don't have anything against Ridge Racer!

But let's go on.

Looks like they like DS games just fine when they're actually good!

And, you keep saying they didn't play the game... and you use a specific example:

Wrong. They DID mention it:

Gamespot said:
Finally, multiplayer lets up to six players race at the same time and only requires you to have one game card, though your course and car selection is limited unless everyone has their own copy of the game.

Now please, for the love of all that is good, take your losses and shut the fuck up.

Who didn't like RR4, besides it came out 4 years ago on the PSONE, it says "Sony" on it, remember my stipulation??? Anyway, you can think what you want, you haven't changed my mind on the issue. They still seem biased to me. I will be interested to see what they score Armored core on the PSP, those games have a tendancy to play like ASS. We will see...

a few average/dud games seem to be par for the course for a handheld launch. (or any console launch) *remembers when gba was released*.. it'll pick up soon :P
