People usually don't know such detail about jpeg that red color compresses worst in it. From his picture it also looks like macroblocking around the red text matches up the macroblocking of the rest of the picture around it. I think it's a legit picture. He probably used his memory injection trick to change the text while the console is running or something along those lines.lupinko said:Then why didn't he just use a text colour that doesn't look questionable?

Frank "Trashman" Reynolds said:Who does the red text look questionable to? A bunch of people that don't know what they're talking about? yup.
Frank "Trashman" Reynolds said:You can tell some of the fanboys in here don't want this to happen for whatever reason. Thanks for the lesson on image compression though lol

Uh no it isn't?

Make sure that your art team understands that jpeg macroblocking will always be perfectly parallel and vertical, regardless if the contents of the compressed image are on an angle or not.filopilo said:problem with your eyes ? the art team here is having a good laugh.

lupinko said:So, what is Gaf's current opinion on this? Not Real or Not Not Real?
obonicus said:Unsure. The fact that he used red for the modified text just makes it harder to tell if it's modified or not. Elsewhere I saw a chunk of this image being tossed in the jpg 'error level analyser': the text in question glowed bright, but at the same time the tool mentions that the color red is going to show up brighter no matter what.

Part of the problem is that the compression blocks eat up lower portion of the red text on the right side, making it look progressively more angled/curved as it goes, but that's not really the case.filopilo said:You're being insulting. the text doesn't have a right perspective in the image. It' s really perfectly obvious.it jumps literally at the eye.

Don't be facetious we both know exactly why some people don't want this to happen.Frank "Trashman" Reynolds said:You can tell some of the fanboys in here don't want this to happen for whatever reason. Thanks for the lesson on image compression though lol

Lets's not head down this path, friendo.Frank "Trashman" Reynolds said:Are you implying the only reason for wanting it to be real is piracy?
I think that guy was saying that people who don't want this to happen, don't want it precisely because it would open the door to piracy.Frank "Trashman" Reynolds said:Are you implying the only reason for wanting it to be real is piracy?
lupinko said:No, I wasn't implying that at all, and why are you accusing me of doing so? lol
There's many homebrew applications that are quite useful that not piracy related, from custom themes to other widgets and other apps.
Someone is getting a little antsy from what I'm seeing here.
