They do have exclusive(?) distribution of Aniplex titles.
Which include R.O.D. Blu-ray and Puella Magi Madoka Magica Blu-ray.

Are these guys reputable? Sorry if they're well known, I've just never heard of them. I'd love to have Lain on Blu-Ray if it actually has increased image quality from my DVDs (and I never finished getting all the DVDs back in the day, so I never finished it). Any word on the Blu-Ray transfer of the material?

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.

Funimation themselves recommend them, so yes they're reputable.

Anyone want to convince me on Lain? I've never heard of it and the trailer looks... okay but at first glance it seems like an obvious story. Worth a blind buy?

RightStuf has been around for a long, long time. I remember getting the paper catalog from them back in the day.

rightstuf won't load for me.

Weird.

EDIT: Ok now it did.

Wow, I was literally just about to buy the first 3 seasons of Bleach from Amazon which would have equaled out to $91.97. On rightstuf I can get those for $51.00. Hell of a deal.

is spice and wolf actually good? I always hear people say 'oh it's about economics' and shit or something but i think i watched the first episode and it had a naked fox lady

Love Lain, but probably not at $54 dollars.
1) The show didn't benefit much from HD remasters (too many still frames/foggy settings)
2) The show is considered to be "too slow" for some people.

I recommend that you get your hand on the first 4 episode first and then decide if it's something you want to follow through.

The anime adaption was decent.
It's "vaguely" about economics, but gets less and less so the further the story progresses (both anime and novel.)
If you don't ever plan on reading the novels ( I think the English release is up to 7?), then yeah I would recommend it.

Was that a good or a bad thing?

I wouldn't say it is about economics so much as a traveling merchant and his wolf god companion.

They are old school, their paper catalog with hentai pull out was a godsend when I was young.

The fuck? Lain is a 35mm show with an amazing transfer. Plus the DVDs looked horrendous.

No joke. The blu-rays of Lain were redone from the ground up.

It looks amazing.

I paid $150 for Sailor Moon R, uncut. DVDs.

$54 for Lain Blu-Ray is criminal.

Would Amazon drop their price on Black Lagoon if people started telling them about the lower price?

I have a lot of amazon credit saved up (I traded in my textbooks), and i'd really like to buy it from there.

If not though, it's no big deal.

Wouldn't hurt to ask customer service but a high chance of them just saying sorry.

Just a reminder there's only a couple days left on the sale.

From now through October 8, take 40% OFF the retail prices of all DVDs, Blu-ray discs and merchandise from FUNimation. (This includes items that are pre-order, in stock, on order and special order!)

Just be sure to place your orders before 11:59 p.m. CT on October 8, 2012

I preordered Lain months ago through them. Do I need to cancel and reorder to be eligible for the discount? Likely, yes? Or is the $54 price already reflective? Because that's what it shows up as in my order history...
