I got a new Wireless mouse for WoW, since my old one was hanging up. My old Microsoft one went for...months on a set of batteries, this new one can guzzle them down in like a week...damn you Logitech.

This happened to me during a WoW session (wireless keyboard was fine though) Tried connecting back into channel, no joy, tried a different pc, throwing it, slamming it. Then came back after a terribly British cup of tea moment, to go back to war with it and it worked.

I beg to differ. My Logitech MX1000 is sublime.

I highly recommend it. It's very smooth and the best mouse I have ever used to date.

Your batteries are probably low. I had the same thing happen to me about a week ago. The power is on but now enough power to operate the mouse. Put in two new batteries, and you should be good to go.

I had this problem constantly with WoW and my Logitech cordless mouse. After playing for about 10 - 15 minutes the mouse cursor would either just lock up or disappear completely. It required a comp reboot to get it working properly again. Turning off the Hardware Cursor option in WoW seemed to somewhat alleviate the problem, but I eventually had to ditch the cordless in order to get any decent playtime without lock ups.

MX700 or 1000 are the only options here, as they have rechargers.

1000's a bit bulky for my tastes, tho.

Replacing 2 AA batteries every 3+ months isn't much of an inconvenience (I have a Wireless Intellimouse Explorer).

As for you people who don't like wireless mice, maybe you should try a new one. Bad response rates and excessive battery usage are things of the past. I know I will never go back to a wired mouse.

but does the signal ever drop out?

if i was surfing the web and this happened, it wouldnt be a problem. if i was playing a game and all of a sudden my mouse did not repond, id be upset.

Wavebirds are fantastic controllers, but occasionally the transmission gets interupted and i cannot controll what is happening on screen. 98% of the time, they function perfectly. its that 2% that can be a problem if it happens at a critical time.

id use a normal controller if i knew id be in a position where a loss of input could waste an hour of work. ill use the wireless if its a more relaxed game/gaming session.
