So judging by the fake list three of the six albums are:

U2 - Joshua Tree
Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill
Avril Lavigne - Let Go

Honestly I hope this is true (even though it likely isn't) because 1) it'd prove that there are Iron Maiden masters out there, 2) The Joshua Tree is awesome, 3) Sk8er Boi is a tolerable Avril song, 4) Fuel is still coming, and 5) if there's one Lacuna Coil song, there'll be more Lacuna Coil songs.

Granted there's heaps of shit on this list but... :|

probably not :(
And then Back in Black which is really obvious.

U2 could get me to play rockband 28 hours a day!

I'd rather a pack than just releasing Joshua Tree though...

Is joshua tree a good album? I've never had a U2 album, and I'd lover to start. I loved elevation when it came out.

Fixed for accuracy.

I've never heard it, but Joshua Tree is supposed to be their best work.

No because we're gonna be getting leviathan or blood mountain instead!

Allegedly a list of upcoming DLC from bin files or something was leaked. Tread with caution.

Inside is an Avril Lavigne 6-pack (no Girlfriend or Skaterboy though), a U2 six-pack (possibly Joshua Tree album?), 3 Iron Maiden songs from Number of the Beast, etc.

That is what screams fake to me. You don't put 6 tracks from a hit pop star, and ignore 2 of her 3 biggest hits (unless all 6 are on an album that doesn't include those two?).

Personally I think if they are going to release an album then Joshua Tree would be the one I want. But I think it would be so much better to release a The Who style megapack, picking from there best stuff both new and old.

It is a great album to listen to, but for RB it is going to have the same problems as Doolittle with one or two track that don't suit the game.

I'm talking about how good joshua tree is as an album by itself. I've been thinking of getting a U2 album, but I really don't know where to start.

These are just leaked though, it in no way details all of the potential Avril songs. I've already said this before, but all her songs are from Let Go which has Sk8er Boi, and since there's going to be a pop album... you get the point.

Sort of like how you would never release a 3-pack of a bands brand new album and not include the hit sing-

Nevermind.

Yes, getting Joshua Tree would be a great place to start as it is pretty much the album that made U2 famous...

If you are looking for a good cross section of their stuff you could always get "The Best of 1980–1990" and "The Best of 1990–2000" which are two good good compilations. They are both missing so key songs though.

That is the most hateful list I've ever seen.
Thank God my girlfriend doesn't listen to that shit ( and thank God this list is most likely fake...I mean Creed and Bizkit? Really?)

You mean popular bands that have sold millions of copies of albums? Rock Band DLC is a buisness you know. I don't mess with Creed or Bizkit but there DLC would be popular.

Pork and Beans was, if I'm correct, one of the last songs recorded and produced on the album. Harmonix has said it takes about 6 months to get through the whole process of putting a song in-game. Sounds like to me that the reason Pork and Beans wasn't in the pack was because it wasn't available when Harmonix got the masters to the other songs.

Also of note: Troublemaker was supposed to be the first single off the album, until Pork and Beans came to be.

onemic said:
And another question, is bad religion any good? If so what album should I start out with?

Depends on your taste. They are more melodic than most punk bands out there. Rise Against is probably the closest to them in that regard. I would start on Process of Belief, then work around to your liking. Stay away from The New America though.

So Metallica's new single came out last week. What ever happened to this?

We know that GH3 and GHWT are getting the Death Magnetic songs as DLC, but are we so sure that Rock Band is even getting that single anymore? The single they released (The Day That Never Comes) is actually not too bad.

I lean towards their older stuff. No Control is my favorite.

Yeah, there is the split between old Bad Religion and new Bad Religion. the old stuff had a grittier sound, but the new stuff is a bit more polished, but still has that punk kick.

What would most people say is their best album?

Metallica posted on their website that the album was finished and going to GH3, with no mention of Rock Band. I guess it is still possible, but I'd be surprised.

Personally, I think Stranger Than Fiction and Process of Belief would be good starting points to get into Bad Religion.

If a band is good I'll like them, which is why I always get a bands best album, when I'm first getting into them, not one that's more accessible.

I personally think Process of Belief is their best, with Stranger Than Fiction being not far behind.

"All I Want" Offspring
"All My Life" Foo Fighters
"Anthem" blink 182
"Best Of You" Foo Fighters
"Fuel" Metallica
"Gone Away" Offspring
"Prayer Of The Refugee" Rise Against
"Ready To Fall" Rise Against
"Self Esteem" Offspring
"Take It Off" The Donnas
"The Kids Aren't Alright" Offspring
"What's My Age Again" blink 182

Way too many tempting songs...looking forward to hearing about this list's authenticity, or lack thereof.

Not this.

No Control would be my suggestion. They also did a best of of the first Epitaph period called All Ages which would be a good choice.

I've re-edited the list for clarity.

Singles
Creed -"Higher"
David Bowie - "Fame"
The Donnas - "Take It Off"
Grateful Dead - "I Need A Miracle"
Lacuna Coil - "Swamped"
CENSORED
Limp Bizkit - "Re-arranged"
Metallica - "Fuel"
Pearl Jam - "Daughter"
Ratt - "Lay It Down"
Rolling Stones - "Brown Sugar"
Weezer - "Keep Fishin'"
Whitesnake - "Here I Go Again"

Alanis Morissette (tracks 7-11 from Jagged Little Pill, in order)
"You Learn"
"Head Over Feet"
"Mary Jane"
"Ironic"
"Not The Doctor"

Avril Lavigne (all tracks from her debut album Let Go, but not the complete album)
"Anything But Ordinary"
"Complicated"
"Losing Grip"
"My World"
"Naked"
"Too Much To Ask"

blink 182
"Anthem"
"What's My Age Again"

Foo Fighters
"All My Life"
"Best Of You"

Iron Maiden (All from, of course, The Number of the Beast)
"Children Of The Damned"
"Gangland"
"The Prisoner"

Offspring
"All I Want"
"Gone Away"
"Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)"
"The Kids Aren't Alright"
"Self Esteem"

Rise Against
"Prayer Of The Refugee"
"Ready To Fall"

Rush (the first two are the 5th and 6th movements of "Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres" from Hemispheres which then leads into "Circumstances". "The Trees" will be in RB2)
"Bringer of Balance"
"A Kind of Dream "
"Circumstances"

U2 (All tracks from The Joshua Tree track numbers listed)

1 "Where the Streets Have No Name"
2 "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"
4 "Bullet The Blue Sky"
5 "Running To Stand Still"
6 "Red Hill Mining Town"
8 "Trip Through Your Wires"
10 "Exit"
11 "Mothers Of The Disappeared"

OK, my first take on this is to call it a fake. The biggest reason is because "I Need A Miracle" is already available as DLC.

Assuming that we've got only part of these files and it starts to take more shape though. We have a couple of packs where all of the songs are off of the same album and they tend to be in different genres and tend to be the "best" or at least most well-known album by the band. The Offspring is an odd exception to this and given the other notable singles from Americana I would have expected that as opposed to a selection of a few songs from three different albums.

At the same time this could just be some idiot sloppily grabbing bits of albums and saying that they're going to be in the game. Otherwise we're looking at a five albums and a large Offspring pack. I doubt we'd get another Rush pack this soon and especially considering the large amounts of Rush we've already gotten and that's coming in RB2.

So while it looks very fake there's still some possibility here if we admit that, if it is a leak, it's not entirely complete. Still, those bits and pieces of albums some in order and others with occasional gaps seem both to make it sound more and less fake.

Very little I'd want here too. I'd pick up "Brown Sugar" for certain. The Number of the Beast, "Keep Fishin'", "Here I Go Again", "Daughter", and Hemispheres would be considered, but that's pretty much it. Maybe, just maybe "Fuel", but I try to spend most of my time in the world where Metallica broke up in '86.

I think it depends on the audience of Rock Band more than anything. Is it made of up of people who just play casually? People into it because it's trendy? Music fans? Or people who buy CDs at Wal-Mart.

If it's the latter category, well, then Creed and CENSORED are appropriate choices.

Personally I think that in their desire to appeal to everyone they're going too far away from the basic concept of being Rock Band. Which is, well, rock. I also have personal issues with some of the choices they've made in the past, but still... just because a band has sold well doesn't mean they belong in the game. Harmonix has seemed to be far more interested in quality and rocking before. More recently though it certainly feels like they're trying to spread the net wider and get as much money as possible regardless of quality.

Got this from the official forum. Rush are too big for the tubes. Damn you internets.

Hey all,

Just so you know - we know that Rush's "Moving Pictures" isn't up yet. There is a technical difficulty that is being worked out. I'll alert you when it is all clear.

You speak as if the Offspring songs are odd choices, but they've already been confirmed.

The last bin file leak ended up giving us a quite the early look at a lot of DLC.

Are we still having problems understanding that musical taste is subjective? I would probably end up purchasing Rearranged and having a lot of fun with it. Who are you to say it doesn't belong in the game? I am glad that Harmonix picks the songs.

Wow, I have to agree with you there. I mean, it's still pretty obviously late-period Metallica, but unlike St. Anger this is definitely listenable. Doesn't sound like I'd want to buy the album though.

Half the list is stuff I would never buy, the other half is stuff I might buy but I'm not particularly excited for. Oh well, this stuff will probably roll out while the awesomeness of RB2 is still fresh.

They've been playing another track from the new album on their recent live dates in Europe called Cyanide, which is pretty fantastic.

I have high hopes for the new album (it's definately NOT St Anger Pt 2, thank God) and should be fun to play tracks from it in either RB or GH:WT (or even better, both).

:lol

I'm confused, I just went to pre-order RB2, and the guy at gamecrazy said it's not coming out until October.

He just has outdated info right? RIGHT?

edit: saw that "leaked list"

Grateful Dead - "I Need A Miracle" is already available in The Grateful Dead pack. huh

Standalone game comes out September 14th for Xbox 360, along with standalone instruments.

Full bundle for Xbox 360, along with the PS3 standalone and bundle come out on October 19th.

No, I'm just saying that based on where everything else was going I would have expected a full album. Looks like we're getting a package instead.

I was actually thinking more of Creed and the Avril Lavigne/Alanis Morissette choices there. They're not really rock songs and don't seem like they'd be an ideal fit for the whole band, more something chosen for vocals more than anything. Considering that there are already plenty of karaoke games out there I'd think that would make more sense.

I know that musical taste is subjective, but I try to keep my "this music is terrible" and "this song/artist doesn't seem appropriate for the game" complaints separate as much as possible. I mean, I was just talking about how They Might Be Giants might not be good for the game and I love them. I don't like U2, but I think they'd make a lot of sense for the game. Same goes for Foo Fighters.
