When Moving Pictures inevitable tempts you back to Rock Band 1, you better make sure you send me an invite.

I shall not give in!!! ive been doin good so far. GHIII & Bourne Conspiracy have kept me busy. :P

everyone said that they pulled the Rush adverts from the RB home page. which is making people think that the delay is long term. they should just double up next week. Rush and whatever else they were planning.

HMX is great. I love them and what they've built.. but god damn am I disappointed that I can't play Red Barchetta today. One of my top 5 favorite albums of all time (first is Hold Your Fire). Was so looking forward to it. And tomorrow is hell day for me, which means won;t get to play until Friday at the earliest..

bah.. :(

What do you think of Rock Band, Cajole? :D
I have played it before, and in it's full glory. It is awesome. I just don't have the room for the full experience in my humble bedroom. I'll probably buy RB2 when I move out. :P

And I actually haven't even played yet tonight (although, it's been idling with my 360 on for a while now). I can't turn off this Mets game.

Is joshua tree a good album? I've never had a U2 album, and I'd lover to start. I loved elevation when it came out.

If you were to pick a single album I would say Joshua Tree or Achtung Baby. Joshua Tree is what made them HUGE. Their earlier stuff is still great, and they just did some really nice 2 disc deluxe editions of their first three albums. Even if you get the single disc ones, make sure you get the new remastered editions, even with Joshua Tree. The remastered audio is great.

And as for getting U2 in the game, as awesome as Joshua tree would be, I would LOVE a Who style mega pack over just one album. U2 has too many great songs for this game that are outside of Joshua Tree. I want Bad...man that would kick ass to have in the game.(not overly complicated, just a great song.)

Oh yeah, I was just gonna get the disc. I guess I should buy used, but I don't like supporting Gamestop and its ilk, and I wanted the game TONIGHT. :lol

Maybe I'll just go with my original plan of Amazon marketplace.

Edit: Wait, I still have some money on an Edge card, I might as well use it and get rid of it.

In that case get this coupon from CAG for 25% off used product. Apparently it stacks with Edge cards.

Edit: Doh! Too late. Still a good deal if you were planning on buying anything else used or if anyone else here wanted anything. I was cheap enough to even use it on a $6 copy of Sly 2: Band of Thieves. Haha sales tax, thwarted again!

Still, I wouldn't have paid one cent over $30. Nor would I buy anything used that wasn't in nearly pristine condition with full manual and original case. I'm not a collector, but I want my things to be in good condition like I'd bought them originally. Plus they're asshats for selling the same used goods for the same price without a box or manual. Hell, I bought a "new" copy of Digital Devil Saga once after it had been out for a while and was becoming hard to find and it was so shelf-worn that it had a big crease down one side of the outer box and looked like it was used. I don't own NES games I've had since '86 in that bad of condition. I think they gave me a 10% discount though. Still... no right selling a used-looking product (where, of course, they'd removed the discs and unwrapped it) as "new". New means that you haven't opened it yourself and let your employees dick around with the contents. That's open stock and I don't know anyone who sells it for full price. Hell, is it even technically allowable to sell store-opened goods as "new" in the USA? I thought that once a product was opened it could no longer be sold as new (e.g. returns) even if you just walked outside the store, opened it, removed nothing and brought it back all in full view of the employees.

LMFAO... There's a big ad for Moving Pictures on the front of the Marketplace page that clicks through to a song page that still doesn't have Moving Pictures. "Download Full Album Today!"

A "Best Of" will always be better than an album. Cherrypicking the good shit will always work out better than a complete album.

Unless they're terrible at cherrypicking. If that "leaked" (Would they really not check the bins before they ship DLC? Still?) DLC list is real, I'm pretty much stunned that they've done most of Number of the Beast and left out the best song.

Yeah, like I said, I just wanted this EDGE card out of my fucking wallet so I never have a reason to go back there again. When he told me I still had money on it (only about 6 bucks), I almost thought of throwing it on the ground in the parking lot. Maybe I'll just burn it. Fortunately, the game is in great condition, complete with original case and manual.

alright my profile is all screwy. brought my profile back to my HDD and it deleted all my friends....blessing in disguise because my list was cluttered as hell. I will be selectively adding you guys back. no need to send me a FR if you don't see me. ;)

The "technical difficulties" associated with this Rush delay must be massive. I stayed up until midnite last night hoping to have a bash of YYZ before bed, I sure as hell won't be doing the same thing tonight.

same thing happened to my account like 2 months ago don't know why thoough, but I was happy just like u because my FL was also clustered, but now it's clustered again :\.

I am expecting Castle Crashers (the XBLA game) and the Rush DLC to go live at the top of the next hour in one big amazing lump of awesome... is that to much to hope for?

D'oh! I thought this expired on Sunday. Well, off to get a GTA IV tomorrow.

Coupons expire when I can no longer convince the staff to accept them. Frankly my old Laserjet 4L, while great at text, is so amazingly terrible at images that it's almost entirely unreadable. Not to mention black and white. Still, the thing is a classic workhorse printer and it's been running well since... uhm, well, whenever they last made these. I remember using some in middle school so they were around in at least 92 or 93.

It depends on whether you want the hits and are just a casual fan or if you want the deep album cuts. Not to mention those of us who are big fans of the entire album format. Sure, you could make a "Best Of" by pulling out singles from Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall, but I'd much rather be able to play through the entire album the way it was meant to be heard. Actually, I'm pretty sure it may have been meant to be heard stoned so ignore that bit at least.

I agree. Best of collections will always go for the radio hits, which is fine for casual music fans, but that's not the way I listen to music. I'm looking for the more off-beat stuff too.

Nice. The challenge stuff sounds like it'll keep me busy.

But how do I tell if I 'beat' a challenge? Is it binary? Is there a score associated?

Wow that's a meaty post. It's like eating a whole damn pork shoulder. It also reveals that it's basically just a way for them to make you play stuff based on albums, artists, packs, genres, or years. In essence it's all tagging along with a few cherry-picked songs for each instrument. At least, that's the impression I'm getting. A bit nicer than the traditional method, but not significantly differing from it from the looks of things. Still, it's a fun idea and very much in line with the feel I've been getting from RB2 of merely offering tweaks on what we already have.

It looks like BotB mode will have the truly interesting challenges.

And on that note I'm announcing my own personal challenge in order to gear up for Moving Pictures. We're having a Rush challenge here:

Closer to the Heart
Tom Sawyer
Limelight

Play each song and post your individual top scores as well as your combined total and your XBL/PSN tag for verification. Highest total by the end of the week in each instrument wins.

And Tour Challenges, despite the name, aren't part of the World Tour mode? Cause if they are, they look pretty disconnected.

Pretty sure it's just another mode. Every day it looks more and more fun though.

"Tour Challenge" has replaced the single player linear setlist mode. So, this is the definitive new "solo" play mode. However, it can be done as a band as well. I don't think there are any "fans" associated with this mode, like there are with BWT.

"World Tour" mode is basically the same setup as the original RB, where you play sets, gain fans, and unlock more sets by having certain fan limits and/or items (Bus, Plane, etc.).

It's truly amazing that there's still problems with the Rush DLC this week. Also I love the constant "Where's Rush?" threads in the Rock Band forum. :lol

As a European, my heart bleeds for the poor Rock Band players who have had to wait days for their DLC for the week with no communication from Harmonix whatsoever. However can they bear it? :(

I gotta wait 2 extra days for any DLC anyway. The lack of Rush right now doesn't harm me.

Sorry about the whole Europe thing btw.

Shit, I really need to read up on Rock Band 2, I thought single player was just basically BWT without friends or loved ones. It's just tour challenges?

You can play BWT alone if I'm not mistaken.

That's what I thought. That's OK then. I'm totally gonna go read up on the game now it appears quite a few EA distributed games have been region free lately.

Setting myself up for disappointment

It's interesting that they let other people play with you in the instrument specific challenges. Nice touch if you can't get through a really hard set.

I'm stoked for PAX, I'll definitely be at Harmonix's panel :D
