man you got guts to say that to this crowd, even if you are potentially trying to mock me.

I'm actually hoping for Texas Flood or Blood Sugar Sex Magic.

I guess you didn't see my Dragonforce post. It's all tongue-in-cheek.

I hope for one of those too, maybe even Colour and the Shape if I'm lucky.

Two expert guitar note charts in RB2 that have grown on me: Painkiller and Battery.

I didn't like either of them at first, but once I got their main patterns down and learned how to deal with their tough solos I started to really enjoy both. I don't think I'll ever gold star either, but I can 5 star Painkiller. Only 3 stars on Battery still :P

From the RB forums:

A UK 360 ad on TV says RB2 is out in November.

November sounds great :)

I've had RB2 for about a week now, and haven't gotten too far, but man am I really enjoying this much better than RB1. I really think a lot of it has to do with the much improved calibration tools.

Anyways, what I really wanted to say is that I'm a real guitar player, and have always enjoyed these games for what they are. Certain songs have felt more "authentic" than others as far as feeling like you're playing a real guitar, but nothing has felt better to me than playing "Where did You Go" by the Bosstones. I've not been able to up-strum with confidence on any of these games, but this song has me strumming the bar just like I would be if I were playing this for real.

I don't know if you guys have already addressed this, or if anyone else is a guitar player in real life has had this experience with this song or another, but I just thought it was really cool.

Anyone having problems with their GH3 guitar not working with RB2? My green button doesn't seem to work. It still works in the dashboard, in RB1, and GH3.

Fuck, I'm at the office. Is it bad form to slip in to the loo for a wank?

This news is too good to pass up.

Nope, I use a Les Paul and have been playing for 2 weeks with little problem. I've had instances where it will miss a single note here or there, but not stop working entirely for a long period of time.

Wow... Dexter was so thoroughly mediocre. Not to mention the terrible characterization and acting from all the other cop characters. It felt like CBS wanted a vaguely more "edgy" CSI. "Oh noes! The serial killer (face it, he's really just a vigilante who kills... not really serial otherwise) is the protagonist! My middle-American mind can't possibly handle this because I have to believe that a serial killer is a bad person!". If you don't care that he kills people (like me) and you don't find it even remotely gory (gore? There's maybe a little bit of blood and it always cuts away when he kills someone... pussies) then it's just the same old tired formula with a ludicrous backstory and godawful writing. The credits sequence is fabulous though. It's definitely one of my all-time favorites and never fails to make me hungry.
Dexter isn’t my favorite show by any means, but I do like it quite a bit. I’m not one of those people from the Emmy thread, aghast that the show didn’t take home numerous awards — to be honest, I still don’t think it deserves any. While I do agree that the premise is predictable and old hat, Dexter himself just makes the show for me. None of the other characters resonate nearly as much — I just find Michael C. Hall utterly charming. It’s an enjoyable show (that had a sub-par second season) with great promotional materials (like my avatar). And yes, a fantastic opening sequence.

So with YYZ setting a precident for cutting out vocalists, let's lose the bass player and get some White Stripes in, eh?

Eh?

EH?

Yeh.
Same can be said for DFA1979 - Cut the Guitarist, or Tenacious D's more acoustic tracks and cut out the Drummer.

They should scrap bass and add rhythm, so people can have fun.
Bass is awesome!

Mainly because I don't have to think at all and can walk around the room, not look at the screen, stand on tables, etc.

They both suck, but at least bass lines have more potential to be awesome.

Nah. Songs like Who Was In my Room Last Night were so much fun to co-op in GH2. The death of rhythm guitar in these games is a huge shame.

But then we'd never have shit like Rush bass and Hysteria, which are almost more fun than their guitar counterparts.

I like all the ones where you diverge and play different stuff then come together for the chorus and bridges and stuff. That shit was awesome, like fucking Freebird man... fucking Freebird.

I wish they would replace instruments in song.

You know how GH3 did the fiddle song with guitar?

Why not have a piano ballad with guitar?

Or some Apocalyptica, just match some cellos to lead, some to bass.

Have you not played Smokin' by Boston?

Good Jimmy Eat World songs for Rock Band

Sweetness
Get It Faster
Work
Pain
Big Casino
Electable (Give it Up)
Here it Goes

Their new album is really strong actually, almost as strong as Bleed American. Most of those two albums would be great in Rock Band.

Less of that shit, chart makers.

Just tell yourself that the guitar is going through some sort of distortion pedal that only makes it sound like an organ. Then forget that it is actually played by an organ. Then revel in how cool it is that the guitarist was able to emulate the style of organ on his guitar and he must be the greatest guitarist of all time for doing so.

Then you will be happy again.

I like to think that the guitarist is flipping his guitar over to reveal a hidden keytar.

The new Xbox ads are creepy... people can associate with people being happy playing Wii. I can't associate with THE BACK OF MY HEAD BEING A CINEMA WITH LITTLE PEOPLE INSIDE IT

What are you talking about? All I saw was "Rockband 2 in November".

Oh, I don't want bass gone forever. I just want it to be done song by song.

I agree wholeheartedly. Whats the point of having Judas Priest or Iron Maiden songs or any bands with a two guitarists in the game if you're going to just map all the parts to one guitar? Will GHWT still have the option for rhythm guitar? I hope at least they allow it in the song creation mode. Dueling solos would be so much fun with the group of people I play with.

Add in Bleed American, Clarity, and Just Tonight for me

Rhythm guitar is in song creation mode.

Lips should be better than Singstar though, on account of it not being named "Singstar".
I dunno, I know it's cheesy but I think Singstar works, and it's certainly done better as a brand than Lips will ever do.

I can never get tired of colony of birchmen on drums as well as red barchetta. We really need a mastodon album in RB ASAP. I'd want Leviathan, but then blood mountain has the fuck awesome, The Wolf is Loose, which has the 2nd greatest intro drum solo ever, right behind Songs for the Dead.

Although this sounds greedy, I'd really want permanent waves, hemispheres or signals as additional album DLC by rush.

<3

if anything I would think Rush will be one of the first 'Discography' bands on RB, which makes me very happy.

and YES blood mountain should be in rock band, I've requested it already too. Leviathan is awesome too but Blood Mountain has a much better chance of making it in game.

the fact that they made it into RB2 gives me hope of future DLC releases as well.
