Songs I've wished for that came true are
- Interstate Love Song
- My Sharona
- Little Sister
- Oasis pack

Also, NOVEMBER! Exciting isn't it! Guess it's time to look for someplace to import it! Maybe I can sell off my RB1 before it even comes out in Aus...

My 360!

!!KATE DARNIT ROCK!! RIDES TONIGHT!

Oh, I had forgotten. Poor red ringed soul. (I've been thankful enough to only have it happen once during a time when there was nothing worth playing on the system anyways.)

EDIT: as an amusing side note, I recall once a friend who got his 360 back after sending it away, and the first time he tried to boot up his newly repaired 360, it red ringed on him.

Well, I'll be blaming you.

Let's get the figures out for the week we didn't wank....

Also this was awesome http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcMuTsBFQTE

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zn6Z9djh8eA for those sad individuals who have never seen it. If you haven't hey it's got Simon Pegg... he's kinda popular in the US now, right?

The availability of enough British TV product in the US is sadly lacking. We don't even have Peep Show past series one out here and just got Spaced this past summer. It looks like we'll be getting the (likely) terrible (and unnecessary) remake of Life on Mars before it's released here either. I don't even think you can find Look Around You on DVD here and that was fucking brilliant.

BBC America (which thankfully shows Channel 4 programmes) would be nice, but my fucking cable company insists on making it a digital tier channel in an effort to extort me for an extra $15 a month to get, well... that, G4 (unwatchable), and IFC (so want!). Bastards.

I'm just glad that you mentioned that. If one of the American posters had said it, well... the chances that I would have been able to make the reference would be almost nil. I don't think it really has any penetration over here at all.

Did you pick up Spaced on DVD yet? It recently hit your shores with tons of jealous inducing extras we do not have :(

Hey, I just got a replacement foot pedal! With no request to send the old one back to them! So if you're in the UK and want a pedal for nothing give EA your address and wait for your free gift.

I should jump on this "just in case", how does one do such a thing?

<3 you more than ever.

More Hot Hot Heat today please, Harmonix. For the record the November release date has allowed me to forgive you for every wrong you've done me since Guitar Hero.

Thank you <3

That link I gave you is actually only for the yank scum, I've changed it.

Yeah I was having trouble with it, thank you more!

I wonder if I should skank some more sticks from them too ¬_¬

Just to confirm this will work before forcing my roommate to GameFly RB PS3 for me:

Once I get RB2 I can just pop in RB1 -- download the required patch -- go to the menu and transfer all the songs over for the nominal charge and return it to GameFly. This is how it works, correct? I have no further use for the disk after this point? It just saves it to the HDD so I guess I could just do it whenever and keep it on my HDD.

Tried this with the PS3 version and apparently "Rock Band is not currently available on this platform in UK and Ireland."

Nice one EA/Harmonix, shit on PS3 users some more why don't you.

I assume the pedal is the same on all formats, yes?

Yessir.

Do they give free sticks too? Ooh. How tempting. I can't imagine how I'd break my current ones, but free is free.

When I got my 2nd drum kit, there was no new sticks, but there was a free extra foot pedal (and they specifically told me not to send them back my old one).

Thank god I got that other pedal though, as Ive torn through the first one (and the second one for that matter, but at least I was able to mod it with some metal and tape).

there are bands I've wanted in the game, but I don't think there's any actual single song that I've wanted that made it into the game.

I guess sleepwalker could count. I'm still waiting for Tool in RB and dredg, but I'm super happy Dream Theater and Mastodon made it in. Opeth is my #1 want in the game now, right next to He is Legend. i'm sure most of you know that by now haha. YEEEEEEEEEEEE

then I could always be a complete ass hole and say I want Between The Buried and Me, Arsis, and Necrophagist, then laugh at all your fingers afterwards

I was in the same boat for a while, but now with Tool and Mastodon, there is very few bands I can think of that really (really) need to get their asses in these games (for their own exposure on top of my enjoyment)
The Mars Volta
the aforementioned Dredg
Failure
Deftones
Meshuggah
Sepultura (or even Soulfly)
Bush
The White Stripes
Live
Ween
Clutch

.. I don't think any of the above listed bands are so underground that downloads of them wouldn't be appreciated by many.

I'd like Primus or Pavement today, please. Or maybe Kings of Leon, who's new album is fairly great.

I can't remember who said it, but whoever told me to listen to Oysterhead; thank you.

Too many Les Claypool related acts (like Oysterhead) get lost in a sea of people who either only listen to or avoid because of, Les being in the band.

He is like Mike Patton on a smaller scale or something.

Packs I would love today:

Def Leppard
My Chemical Romance
The Cult (odd that we only got one song last week when they usually do threes)
Santana (new or old)
Journey
Monster Magnet
Iron Maiden (in support of Somewhere Back In Time preferably :D )
Porcupine Tree
Dream Theater (early LaBrie era preferably)

Side note: Rock Band needs a good Mike Patton song.

Is it Friday yet ?

Is it better than their last one? My girlfriend made me listen to it and I was distinctly unimpressed. Their previous one to that was fap-o-licious, however.

Bon Jovi

I liked the last album, but I think the new one probably has a few more catchy hooks. I'd say it's more similar to Because Of The Times than Aha Shake Heartbreak though overall.

Since they put in Sleater-Kinney it definetly feels like we're getting closer to some Pavement tracks. Less and less great 90's indie groups to go for. It just peevs me that they go for songs that have the word Rock (or whatever) in the title or mention bands or instruments in them more than anything. Maybe that means Range Life is a candidate (because of the STP and Pumpkin mentions).:D

I want the entire Black Holes and Revelations album. I think it would be the most fun to play out of all of Muse's albums.
For some reason I don't expect a lot of Muse or Coldplay anytime soon, but I'd love to be proven wrong.
