The worst offenders in the screen tearing department have always been the regular Lego franchise games, God of War 1/2 on the PS2 and Darksiders, which quite literally had tearing every other frame before they released the patch. I'm still not sure if it's a worse problem than games having noticeably different rendering rates for things like physics (I'm looking at you, Bioshock), but it's an eyesore nonetheless.

It pales in comparison to games that have long, frequent loading, though. Those need to be expelled from existence.

Sacred 2 has a good amount of screen-tearing if you don't have the camera set at the right distance. Didn't stop me from putting in 40+ hours though.

That's true, and that one middle age like town was horrible to walk through. Played the hell out of that one, probably not as much as old man Cahill though.

Nah, I wanna go in fresh. I'm not hyped for the game (to the extent that I'm just Gameflying it), but it definitely seems like a game I will enjoy more if I go in relatively clueless.
Well, if it helps, the video was just a tutorial type level. The environments and atmosphere looks great in it. Outside of that though, everything else shown was sort of terrible to me.

I'm right with you. There are so many games that people think are shit, and I see absolutely nothing wrong with them. I'm not extremely picky when it comes to most games, and as long as it's fun, I'm game.

I'm the same way, I'm in it for the fun!

Fixed.

I'm not that bad anymore. My gamerscore hasn't risen significantly in quite some time.

Plus I refuse to play Guitar Hero, so the fun part still has a stake. Still haven't played the new CoD either.

Screen tearing is not a petty concern since it directly affects performance. A game with lots of screen tearing can actually obscure the action that's transpiring. It's definitely not frivolous like dithered shadows or overuse of bloom and/or rim lighting.

Nearly twenty-five hundred pages. When did this thread stop being about Rock Band? :lol

It is, for about an hour each day. We were talking about Meshuggah and iwrestledabear or whatever the fuck they're called earlier. What more do you people want from us!?

As long as it's not all the time, I probably wouldn't make a big deal of it. If I see screen tearing every once in a while in a game, I'll continue to play as long as it's fun. I won't scream about the game and liken it to the holocaust.

50ppp :lol :lol :lol

Reasons why 360 RB2 is the superior version:
DLC two days before PS3
RBN

still doesn't change anything, nice for non RB related stuff though I guess.

Basically this. However, I have a pretty high tolerance when it comes to FPS and screen tearing.

Also shitty controls are infinately worse than bad visuals.

PS3 owners still can't play Push Push (Lady Lightning). :lol :lol :lol
I can, with my Dualshock 3 and GH2 for PS2.

Edit: actually can you play GH2 with a controller? I've never tried.

Fucking awesome news about Tuesday PSN updates^^.

I'm sure we're gonna get something decent this week. Also, wtf is going on with Empty Walls? It sounds different, the guitar track.

Eh Beethoven's Cunt was decent, if only because it was 80 points and it helped me transition to expert guitar.

It was fucking sweet on expert drums. One of my favorite drum charts. I can't say the same for Empty Walls though.
