Rock Band Platform |OT|

For some reason, my FireFox started to be a huge memory hog on my desktop, so I switched over to Chrome. I do miss some of my extensions, but it's not a huge deal.

Yeah I choked on the drums earlier, as folks can attest too. The volume is so low at the beginning that I can't hear the beats, and that always gives me issues.

Five-starred the vox on the sight read tho, although it was quite tricky.

I watched up to S2E2 and decided to stop. My friend explained everything season to season and I think I made the right decision. None of the characters are likeable except Sawyer and the plot just sounds completely terrible. Think I should start The Shield or The Wire.

Both are fucking amazing. The Shield might be the best show ever.

But Lost (depending on how it ends) is poised to take the number 1 spot. When explained it might sound dumb but really everything works well when paced out in the show. And you didn't see the two best characters yet but pretty much all of the characters are great. The whole show is characters the mystery stuff is all secondary.

The Shield is pretty awesome. I've seen the first three seasons and remembered enjoying them. I've got Season 1 of The Wire on dvd, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I heard it'a awesome too.

The Wire is a very slow burn, it takes too long to get going, but when it gets there its pretty phenominal.

Yeah I was on season 3 before I started flipping out at how good it is. The Shield however goes zero to sixty in around 2 seconds and never ever let's up. Right up until the ending which is about as perfect as a show can end. Not one single bad episode of that show.
 
Damnit. My mom changed the channel to ABC. Makin' me watch Lost.

Well, you have it at least the first season, Cork. Which if it doesn't start to grow on you by then, then it's not for you.

Looking forward to sinking a tonne of time into the online side of MH. I put about 100 hours into the offline game but never got a chance to play online for very long as I wasn't willing to pay the monthly fee Capcom/Nintendo wanted for the Japanese version. Friday can't come soon enough.

Yeah my sister told me to watch the Shield but everything she likes sucks so I started 24 instead. When I finish 24 ill be watching the shield though. I'm liking 24 way more than I expected to though.

Yeah only the 6th and 7th seasons are available to stream.
 
The Wire is one of my favourite shows of all time but like others have said it takes quite a few episodes to kick into gear. So many great characters as well with Omar,Bunk,Clay Davis and McNulty being particularly awesome.

How do you not mention Stringer Bell? It's so rare that a "bad guy" is so well fleshed out and so sympathetic. One of the all time best characters.
 
well just saw the guns of summer rb drum video and I won't be able to succeed that for a long time :(. These kinds of beat always throw me off. Will still buy it to have my a.. raped
 
Observation: bands that manage themselves almost invariably have the drummer doing the organizational work. Haven't figured out the reason yet, other than to assume we're just more reliable and competent people.

The problem with The Wire is that there's so many good characters that if I was to list all the ones I liked I'd just end up listing near enough the whole cast, Bubbles,Wee-Bey,Herc,Kima,Prop Joe,Snoop etc

If it helps to encourage you any further to watch it Cork, Meth is in it and he's surprisingly good too.

To be fair Dave I also blame the Internet and your point would stand if there was a NeoGAF other than the OT and this thread. But there isn't. Nope just the OT and this thread.

You left out Bodie, he was one of my fav's I liked D'angelo a lot too. And frank in the second season, I like the second season the best I think. Damn its a good show fucking watch it people.
