I have a real guitar right next to me. I struggle with it. If I'm using this as a learning tool, it makes more sense to use the easier interface, and then maybe move on from there. If I end up being a Halftar expert I'd probably get the Realtar, but fuck spending £250 upfront or whatever it costs.

I have no idea why anyone would think the half-tar is an easier interface. Strings would provide a more realistic tactile representation of where your fingers actually are on the frets. Those metal leads offer no feedback, other than the visually representation on the screen.

Definitely be at least $100 difference, but not more than $300 total.

$150 Halftar, $300 Realtar. Bank on it.

Because it's smaller. My babyman fingers will be more comfortable.

Should have traded that drum pad for a little half-and-half.
=(

When we got out of the building she told me that we should share this....I pretended to have no intentions for doing this, and when we arrived at her house I told here in my stupid tone that I caught it for her.

well...Im not a big Lacuna fan, I enjoyed the concert A LOT tough...but I think she would be so happy with this drum pad, considering its her favorite band. If it was a Maiden concert it would have been different =)

Did I do the right thing?

Why the hell are you obsessing over a girl who will not reciprocate.

Yeah, as long as you did it for her as a friendly gesture, and you didn't totally want the drum pad.

You did the right thing in giving it to her.

You did the wrong thing for yourself in connecting anything with it.

Dangerous waters for the soul, my friend.

The real-tar looks like it picks up where your fingers are really nicely, I like that there is a visual representation of where your fingers are at all times in the hit box.

How does the halftar know where you are? Do you have to hold the button down for it to register where you are on fret board?

ouch!...you nailed the question I have not being able to answer in years.

You are right Amusix, I hope I dont fall again.

Birdman, that is in theory my intention...I was so happy for having this...but Im sure we really wanted it a lot more and it would have been really cruel on my side to take it home. As long as I can keep this situation in "friendly" mode everything will be alright...it will be very hard.

I love your theory Space.

Yes, same with the realtar (that is, you have to hold down the string).

I'd like to know for sure, but I hope that the realtar's sensors are the fret bars themselves...that is, when a string touches them, they register where it is (completing a circuit, or such)...this would be a fairly stable tech, vs having touch sensors on the neck itself.

also, after watching the demo videos...seems I was wrong, the letter next to the charts are the chord names and not the chord shapes...so does that mean pro mode doesn't venture past bar chords? I guess that'd be suitable for ROCK Band, but it does present a very real shortcoming of the system that I'd hoped wasn't there. Unfortunately, my friends are all caught up with E3 this week, so I can't talk to them.

Oh, the half-tar fret thingamabobs are buttons and not sensors. Makes more sense now. Still wouldn't want it.

Teasdale, in the GS video, mentioned "jazz chords" etc.

Past bar chords?! What else is there? The hardest button to button is clearly power chords, Jack plays in Drop D on that album thats why they are all on the same fret, I know this because I know how to play a few songs off of that album already, the song mentioned is one of them.

I haven't seen a bar chord on a chart now that I think about it. Nor have I seen a B or a g chord. Sure they have the power chord variant, but I'm guessing if the guitarist used power chords they are charting power chords, it's not very hard to differentiate.

Edit, If they have Jazz chords, then everything is in, those have some of the trickiest fingerings. Theres no reason they wouldn't chart every other chord appropriately either.

Here's the reason: because you think that if you're just friendly enough, she will sleep with you. That's never going to happen. If you keep hanging round her, your resentment will grow until you do something stupid. Don't be the creepy "nice" guy that girls are too afraid of to tell them to get lost. You need to stop seeing her, ever. Don't tell her you don't want to see her again, just sever completely and abruptly. If she calls, ignore it. Get her the fuck out of your life, and go and meet some real women.

Man, roundabout will be scary on PX Keys.

Ending shenaningans will likely be the same, it would be crazy if it played what you were playing in real time, it would sound like shit most of the time, but it would still be kinda cool.

eight and a half minutes of progressive goodness, devil tier on pretty much everything? They're going to have something else be the finale?

Hocus Pocus, duh.

Although maybe not, because it's super easy on bass. Even I can play it.

Well, when you put it like THAT... *folds arms*

I never liked Yes
