Fake shit like that should be bannable. Anyway, I'm fucking tired after breaking down the GHWT ad. I'm going to bed. Check the unofficial official GHWT thread if you care.

Why would you cut yourself off from challenges or from songs three other people in your online band might want to play? Unless you're running out of space, I can't really understand why anyone would want to potentially be without any songs when in so many cases of the game's offerings, your preference will only count for 1/4th.

Disc space is the main reason. But I know I don't want to play the songs I didn't list all that much. Its not going to break my heart to not be in a Seven Challenge.

eh... I HATE HATE HATE HATE attitudes like this. Recently our parties has been random only, and unless everyone instantly chimes in with "FUCK THIS" we play the song. Even if none of us really cares for the song, unless everyone totally and truly despises the shit out of it, we play it.

sticking with music you know is fine. staying away from songs you really don't like makes sense.. however I am up to 157 songs right now, and after 10 months we have pretty much filtered down to all of the songs based on the criteria above and come out to about 30-40 songs regularly play. The problem is, playing once a week for 3-4 hours a week means we're playing on average probably 30-40 songs a week. and guess where the majority of them come from when we choose??????? So yeah... fuck "I don't play the song because I really don't like it."

Real men pick random and own up.

I still vote for "fake random". I want to play The Greatest Man That Ever Lived, but "oh i don't know it" SUCK IT UP AND STRUM DAMN YOU. So, I choose that secretly, and random goes to that.

The only problem I have with random is that several of my pals play above their level, because the rest of us play on hard or expert. This means we have to be careful about what we pick or we fail the song, which is really annoying.

You shouldn't be able to see the song before you start playing it when you choose random. Kinda defeats the purpose.
They should only show it for a split-second so you can see it's not RTTH or GGAHT.

My leg is KILLING ME after playing a couple songs on medium drums. Any tips to prevent such a problem?
I had the same problem. My mistake is that I was lifting my leg up until the bass note came, pressed down, and then lifted my leg again. So basically you're trying to keep one foot in the air for 5 minutes per song, which is going to hurt after a while. The correct method is to keep the petal down, and then lift and press down when the bass note comes.

On my 360 I mainly fly solo. Multi is on the PS2. I'm not interested in playing anything I don't like, other than score purposes, and I've already gold stared most that shit.

WAIT A SECOND. If I accidentally pull out my x-plorer during the endless setlist, that's going to count as a pause and fail me?
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK

I have a feeling they are going to have an option choice (or another selection entirely) for this achievment.

They will more then likely complete turn off the pause button.

We've done the same thing at our weekly sessions as well. We noticed that out of 200+ songs, we were playing the same 35 of so every week. It was getting boring to those of us that showed up every week.

We also had one week where we did random instruments. People that were coming to our little club (open to all students) were just sticking to one instrument. The game is just too awesome to only play 1/3 of it (considering bass and guitar are pretty much the same). So we rolled a die before every song and on a 1,2, or 3, you rotated that many positions through the lineup. On a 4,5,6, you stayed where you were. So you could still line up for the instrument you wanted, but had a 50% chance of moving somewhere else when it was your turn.

I found it to be great fun, as it got people out of their element and also playing songs we didn't normally play. However, after those couple of sessions (Random Song and Random Instrument), there have been a couple people that haven't shown up since. I guess there are people that really only want to sing, and if they don't get their way, they just don't want to play. Pretty lame if you ask me.

If anyone has other suggestions for themes we could do, I'm totally up for it. So far we've only done Random Song, Random Instrument, and Instrument's Choice (where every hour we cycle who has choice for song). I'm hoping after RB2 hits, we can do something like 70's night and play 70's songs for four hours.

I can understand people, say, not wanting to sing though. It's much harder to try and sing if you can't than to try and get drums for the first time.

Then sing on easy! Easy basically means "Can you read?"

But, some people don't like that hit to their pride or whatever.

I've completed easy, but that doesn't mean it's painless for everybody else there. I want to practice more, but there are other people in the house.

However, I have learnt recently how much poor drummers on easy piss me off, REALLY throws you off.

Ei. That's why I stay away from drums. I can't play them worth a lick and just end up throwing the whole group off. I can screech through songs on hard vocals, but put me on drums and you'd think I lacked a brain.

A fun fact I learned from the Harmonix panel -

Harmonix has become the worldwide leader in the production of drumsticks. Sean said that they have the next top three beat combined.

I'm glad you can get rid of songs, goodbye to Welcome Home, Won't Get Fooled Again and Black Hole Sun (I don't hate these songs they just bore me). Oh and a good deal of the bonus bands.

How the hell can Wont Get Fooled Again bore you? Its one of the most constantly active songs across all instruments. Is it the one minute break you get near the end? I am just curious. But again, different strokes for different folks.

And throw my hat in the ring for random. Man up and play what it gives you, unless like others said, everyone playing agrees that it is shit(Fall Out Boy).

Only two more weeks! YAY!

I'm trying to envision that.... I can almost believe it. They can't be, like, blowing away that count, but yea.... it could happen.

what what

I think I just saw someone say they'd delete The Who

There's laws against that

That's the reason why deleteing songs is stupid.

I've seen at least 4 posts so far with tons of songs being deleted. If you put those people together to play online half the album will be gone.

Diversity wins out over personal taste when it comes to any game.

Same reason why I played shit like DM5 in Quake 1.

It's not too hard to believe. The game has sold millions over the last year among the platforms that its on, and they sell replacement drumsticks in stores.

People shit on Dead on Arrival all the time, but that shit is crazy fun on drums!
You sir are a liar. It's my least favorite song on drums. I just never feel the rhythm and have only passed it a few times by forcing myself to hit the notes throughout much of the song. Drumming is much, much easier when you can feel the rhythm, but that song just doesn't feel right at all. I can nearly gold star Interstate Love Song and My Iron Lung and can easily 5 star Cherub Rock and Enter Sandman, but that song is pure evil.

Anyway, The Who is easily the best pack in the game. All of the Boston and Oasis songs are pretty fun as well on all instruments.

Wannabe Newbie to RB: Should I buy the SE of part one (cheap this week) or wait for part 2 SE? The money I could save on part one would probably pay for the standalone part 2 disc.

wait for 2 and buy rb1 seperate disc only.

2 has improved instruments that wont break as fast as the older ones.

What'd I miss in the last day and a half? I moved and didn't get the internet turned on until like an hour ago.

the BIG announcement was the leaked PAX pack, bladder of steel achievement - NO pause in endless songlist, and NO fail.

I used to think the same thing until I really got good enough to appreciate that song on drums. Now I really enjoy it.
