You can cry if you want to.Vicious said:I had RB2 in my hands at wal-mart, and they wouldn't sell it to me. I even offered the guy money.
And it's my birthday.![]()
TAJ said:Basically, the old pads could have supported it, just not the controller part.
The original pads were using the same basic technology (this http://www.ufodrums.com/27mmpiezodisc.htm but way smaller) as some great drums, just in a really half-assed way.
EDIT: After reading that Scorehero thread...:lol
Oh, Harmonix... You fail at designing hardware. Why are you still trying at this point?
TheGreatDave said:You learn something new every day.
Also, what the hell at the new drum kit not supporting two drum pedals out of the box? I thought that was confirmed?
They said they were going to daisy-chain, not be on separate ports. I really didn't see any point in it unless they were going to support it in the charts, which we now know they aren't.TheGreatDave said:You learn something new every day.

Those 3 songs are meh, and if I ever need to get the disc again I can just rent it or something.Belgand said:I still don't get trading it in. I mean, ok, I don't understand trading in games ever (when I buy something I do so with the understanding that it will be forever), but even in this case. Some of the songs didn't transfer over and even if they did it's nice to have it in case you accidentally delete a song, have hard drive problems, a host of reasons. I really don't trust anything digital to stay safe and reasonably permanent. I mean, I can still play my original cartridge of Bionic Commando today (well, I could if my NES was working), but I doubt I'll have the same ability to replay Rearmed in 20 years.
I'd say that, at least, the peace of mind from having the original disc and being able to re-use it if need be for any sort of reason is well-worth not getting $14 in trade-in credit.

You should've traded it in at Blockbuster. I'm hearing they'd give you $32 towards RB2. I think some stores also close at 1AM, so you could pick it up Saturday night. I'm not completely sure on the latter, I need to do more research. I'd rather drive 5 minutes to Blockbuster instead of 20 to Super Walmart.Costanza said:Those 3 songs are meh, and if I ever need to get the disc again I can just rent it or something.

Also, tomorrow's DLC announcement day. Let us speculate.
I thought they confirmed that RB2 DLC will work with RB1....right?TheGreatDave said:Tomorrows DLC will just be "hey, Rock Band 2 owners, go get your 20 songs. RB 1 owners, sorry, platform lol"
I wish.NameGenerated said:Maiden pack.
Belgand and Mewthree would both do something disastrous, so no.TheGreatDave said:Tomorrows DLC will just be "hey, Rock Band 2 owners, go get your 20 songs. RB 1 owners, sorry, platform lol"

Shit, I would have went to Blockbuster if I knew they bought used games. I haven't been to a Blockbuster in years.Duck said:You should've traded it in at Blockbuster. Costanza said:The 20 bonus songs won't be on the store. You'll have to redeem a code.
ahoyhoy said:What's with this voucher? I thought there was one Music store across both games with the same songs listed with the same charts. What's changed?
StrikerObi said:They won't be on the store? Is there proof behind that? My assumption would be that a redemption code will give you those 20 songs for free but they will still let you BUY the songs if you don't want to buy Rock Band 2.
Keyser Soze said:You dont get the songs direct of the in-game store, you instead get them from the redeem voucher part of the dashboard.... it is ways like that that Harmonix was screw Europeans that little bit more!
what?Blu_LED said:Does anyone know that if/when they turn over RB DLC each day to RB2 DLC, they will release it on PS3, or will they just release the 4 weeks worth of it the day the PS3 version comes out?
Blu_LED said:I thought they confirmed that RB2 DLC will work with RB1....right?
StrikerObi said:This doesn't mean they WON'T be in the music store. The Music Store is just an in-game front end for the Marketplace. You can't redeem the code via the music store, but I'm sure you could buy all those 20 songs if you really wanted to (if you really didn't want RB2).
Sp3eD said:They did, but the 20 free songs are not DLC. They are disc songs that are coming in download form.
Every week they relse RB1 DLC. Starting Sunday they will no longer relese RB1 DLC and will start relesing them as RB2 DLC. Will these RB2 songs that come out ever week also be relesed on the Playstation Network, or will they just release all the ones that 360 is getting the day the PS3 version comes out.sneaky77 said:what?

Sp3eD said:Not if the songs were licensed for disc content (ala Rock Band 1 disc songs)
If all the songs on RB2's disc were under the same guidelines as #1, then there is no way they could give those to RB1 players for free.
We are going to go though the same shit again in RB3 (probably losing many more songs). Mark my words.

Character creation offers some new options but I had to force myself to stop exploring because I wanted to play. Love that you can do a local tour now with just one player. Love the songs so far. The loading feels faster too.
