1. I faked it. Sorry!

Harmonix can turn my fake announcement into a real one, though. Make it happen!

2. Who Says You Can't Go Home is a country song.

Oh, well then, go to hell.

That's about all he had going for him.

EDIT: Also, he was good at writing Cheap Trick songs.

If you've got a problem with Cheap Trick then I have a problem with you.

Incidentally instead of all the real-life rock stars being added into the GH series post-HMX (bah, they're trying to Tony Hawk it... pretty soon I'll wander around a sandbox LA taking gigs and challenges from various real-life rock stars) why can't we just get Eddie? I mean, it would follow from the Grim Ripper and it would be totally fucking awesome. Even better: Eddie with various costumes.

No way. I love Cheap Trick. My wife hates it when I karaoke them. She's the hater.

All in favor of FHUTA'ing Duck for faking us out like that?

I probably would have considered "You Give Love A Bad Name", but that's it.

Still, Slippery When Wet might make for a good full album pack. Or give us that with a Springsteen pack and the new Meadowlands venue.

Good fake though. It had just the right amount of awesome, reasonable, and mediocre to work. Plus we already have one Bon Jovi track so they're obviously available. I'm mainly just pissed because I'd just talc'd up and gotten into my leopard print tights and was reaching for the Aqua Net when you posted that it was fake.

I won't, I only fake good bands.

(just kidding)

Grr!

By the way, I've decided that Brighten The Corners is the best album for Rock Band, so Harmonix can go make it and charge me £50. I. Will. Pay it.

Those songs should be reduced due to the Rush being delayed. It's the least they can do.

I can't fucking believe this "technical issue" happened now. Of all fucking times? It couldn't have happened when the shitty NIN packs were released? Or for the godawful Pixies or Cars albums? Godshittingfuck, I NEED MORE XANADU.

Cars wasn't shitty. I bitched when they were announced, but they're nice warm up songs.

Pixies should have been given a "best of" to let them shine.

Hey, "Wanted Dead or Alive" is a great party song.

It's ok, but it's not their best. I greatly prefer "You Give Love A Bad Name" because it has a better guitar part, more anthemic vocals (key for Bon Jovi and other stadium rockers), and is just, well, overall better.

Ok, screw this, I totally would have bought it. You hearin' me HMX? Make it happen!

Also, my team once failed to win one week at bar trivia because "Wanted Dead or Alive" only made it into the top 10 and not to #1. Screw you "Blaze of Glory"!!

God, I wish I've been to 20 Rock Band parties since the game came out.

I play the game with the same few people almost every weekend, and we only have the PS2 game. This my explain my hatred of nearly every disc song.

I'd probably pick "Bad Medicine" but both songs are infinitely better than "Wanted Dead or Alive".

I think the biggest problem is people criticizing them for being too simple which, well, yeah, they are simple, but that's part of what makes them great. The bassline to "Where Is My Mind?" is just 6 notes with a basic pattern of playing straight-eighths for four bars most of the time. "Gigantic" is just the same simple four bar pattern for the entire song as well. The thing is, they're great fucking songs and they're fun to play. Simple songs are often a lot of fun for me, I like playing them in the game and I like playing them in reality. It gives you a lot of chance to just relax and have fun with it.

I would have also taken "Livin' On a Prayer". "Bad Medicine" would be my #3. "Wanted Dead or Alive" is probably #4 for me with Bon Jovi and after that... uhm... well, four Bon Jovi songs is probably enough for me.

I can't help but think of a bit on Salute Your Shorts where identical guitar parts are played and identified as "Whitesnake" or "Bon Jovi" or "Poison". This was actually relevant at the time too. And it was totally acceptable to believe that the rebel rock kid would listen to these bands.

My problem isn't the simple nature of the songs. I like playing Monkey Gone and Gouge Away. Its the songs that aren't there. I may be alone, but I think Doolittle is my least favourite Pixies album. I like Bossanova, Surfa Rosa and Trompe le Monde much more. I like the album, but I didn't need La La Love You over Velouria.

You have a valid point and while I disagree with your choice I recognize it as equally valid and we're both fans of the same band. Nevertheless, this is the Internet so I must decry you, your lineage, and imply that your sexuality is different from that of that of the majority with the assumption that that makes you a sick deviant and a sex pervert.

Sorry, I'm just following the rules here.

Surfer Rosa here. But 'cmon. Doolittle is the most accessible. Its only weakness is that it doesn't have fightclub.mp3 on it.

Guys, it's pretty obvious what the technical hold up. It has nothing to do with the 256 limit. My guess would be with the fact that YYZ is in the game and the fact that there's no vocals messed shit up since the game has never had a song with no vocals. Imagine you're playing 4 players and then suddently there's no singer, there needs to be code to handle that and i'm pretty sure that they fucked that up.

Other places they need to change code and might have missed:

1 - Playing the game on vocals as single player.. gotta make sure the song never shows up anywhere.
2 - Online battles
3 - In quick play, the vocals need to be disabled
4- What happens when the vocalist is the lead member of a band and the song plays?

Some thing was probably missed in the process.

Maybe we will still get Tom Sawyer and Limelight free from them as a sorry.

So now this gives me more time to pound in my stance that Tom Sawyer BETTER have a 1 next to it in RB2. Screwing up 1's setlist would be a riotable offense.

I'm pretty fucking surprised there was no patch yet for it. If there was none needed, it meant that it was coded from the beginning to handle instrumentals.

However, the OTHER possibility is that they also had an issue merging the Guitar Hero patch or something and they want to get it out together. I'm just hoping it's a multi-patch coming.

...Which means they'll need a patch to fix that.

Which means we'll likely have Moving Pictures as Rock Band 2 launch DLC because a patch for RB1 (export feature) is coming then anyhow.

I bought Surfer Rosa, my first Pixies album, purely for the old fightclub.mp3. Now not only is Fight Club a good movie, but I have it to thank for getting me to listen to several awesome albums.

I've thought about that but it doesn't make much sense, especially since they're able to release songs that aren't rush and only rush has been delayed. It's gotta be YYZ causing the problems. On the bright side, if they fix this, maybe we'll start seeing some White Stripes in there sans bass.

Another thing that might have cause a problem is Tom Sawyer.. We have the same song twice. They have to make sure that it doesn't play back to back.

This really sounds like a patch is needed for this album.

I don't think that's it. That would have been something they'd worked out during testing. I think this is a problem with getting it up onto the DLC servers and pushing it out. Not an in-game problem.

Yeah, I don't get how this could be an in-game problem. They...test this stuff. They have 360s and Rock Band 1. It doesn't make much sense for an issue to pop up last minute...

I think Konami have bought YYZ or something.

On both? They've released on the XBLM over Xmas when the PSN took a break. They have no problem with a single delay.

And what I meant about patching was maybe they were testing the wrong BUILD of the game. As in a different version, possibly that included or didn't include a patch or song.

But there's lot of possibilities with song names, count limit, anything really could be a last minute bug in ANY mode.

Hell, it could be an issue with picking the song in online play. (Or not. You think they'd use UIDs for those)

If Moving Pictures requires a patch to run, I most likely won't be able to play it. :(
