yeah fails everywhere, atleast I'll have my first ever GT3/WT DLC to riff on with Death Magnetic on Friday.

Guess GTWT will be out before RB2 (360), that probably even got a proper date.

Wait, hang on, my memory tells me I have a rant about Judy Nails preprepared. Aha, my Guitar Hero 3 preview.

The other thing which bugs me is the character design. Whilst the massive jaw singer looks stupid, it’s nothing compared to what’s happened to Judy Nails. She hasn’t just been hit with the ugly stick: she’s been bashed and abused with the ugly iron rod, and has since had cheap plastic surgery to cover it up, but due to the unsuccessfulness of that she then became a whore to earn enough money to have it fixed. Maybe I’m thinking about this slightly too much.

Amazon just delayed all the standalone drum shipments to the 18th.

Guess I have to go see if Gamestop will still take a preorder.
 
If the Euro Rock band launch has told us anything it is that EA hates Europe, so expect it to be region locked and EA to drag the Euro date out for ages. :(
 
God I just watched the youtube video for that one Killswitch Engage song to see the drums...ridiculous.

Second why does every goddamn "metal" band these days sound like the lead singer is trying to be a dragon?

Difference is that EA publishes Madden, but they do not publish Rock Band. MTV Games publishes Rock Band and is likely the ones in charge of deciding if it's region-free or not.

Of course people want to say "I HATE YOU EA", but it's likely not their call here. Same goes for Harmonix, the developer probably has very little say if the game is region-free or not. Teasdale said at their PAX panel that they've been fighting to get Rock Band in certain regions (Australia) but that it's ultimately not up to them.

I note the hate from various people here.

And I will say the song they picked for the game doesn't represent the band well. I think 'back in the day' the original vocalist had a very good singing voice, talking voice, and would mix it with the metal growls. Self Revelation is a good example.

Other tracks that represent the band better: Fixation on the Darkness | Numbered Days | Just Barely Breathing

(In the end though, even their earlier stuff was metal, but the vocalist was different and I think the band just had an overall better sound)

it's like they gave her ridiculously large breast and went...

Howard Jones is ten times the vocalist Jesse Leach was. And i liked KSEs first CD

I can't hate on Howard, ... but, I think overall even the band's music itself has slightly changed. It is still metal, but far too "verse, chorus, verse" type boringness to it. I will start to relisten to their new stuff though. After getting the "My Curse" dlc, Ive had a resurgence in listening to Alive or Just Breathing (and their S/T release before it, as I like some of the versions on that album over AoJB)
 
Like every Metal band that wants to sell records their music is more "radio friendly" now. But even the biggest single from their first album was like that growl-lyrics-growl.

Look i like their old stuff. I became a fan of the band watching that video on Fuse when i sitll had that channel. But they are a better band musically now.
 
I'm going to give their newer stuff a shot today by burning a cd before I go to work, any tracks in particular i should throw on (or just a full new album?)


(Random: I've been out of the kse loop for a while, but I remember hearing Jesse did a song with Howard together, cause I remember he left with no bad blood so I thought it would be a cool idea but never knew if that song came into fruition)

And for whoever has imported all their songs with lots of DLC how much space has it taken up.

I want to trade in RB1 but if it takes to much space I'll keep the disc.

i have about 2.5 gigs taken up by RB1 stuff at the moment. the import was about 1.5 gigs.

i said one final goodbye to my copy of rock band (which i traded in on saturday) when i was working at EB last night.

i was very happy to have the GH:A demo this week to help ease my week of cold turkey.

IT IS INCREDIBLY HARD... but RB2 is going to be all the sweeter on Sunday as a result, because not only do i get the new songs but i get back the old songs i've been pining terribly for.

Oh ok, that makes sense. So the space all the DLC took up is not taken up again since it's already there?

--well that sounds good I guess I need to get some spacebucks to import that stuff...then trade in my RB1 disc while gamestop is still giving 20% extra trade in value.

right. the export process basically just adds the RB1 songs to all your other DLC stuff. you'll find them in the same place on the hard drive.

Im pretty sure they have performed together live. Gotta check youtube out to be sure
