I'd like to know when looking at Song A for example, if my 250,000 high score was done when I was playing on hard or expert. Also when comparing with friends, it was nice on RB1 to see what difficulty they had used when they reached a high score. I might get frustrated trying to beat my friends score on Song A, not realizing he got it using hard difficulty instead of expert.

Ah ok. I can see where it'd be nice to know that information I guess.

EDIT: Sorry for the DP...should've edited my last post. Too busy playing and not paying attention >.>

Still decent - is the front-end load bad when you boot up the game?

RB2 loaded all of my songs the first time I booted the game up. There's been virtually no load time when booting up every other time I've played.

I was going to wait for the bundle to drop next month but I think I'm just going to go ahead and bail in now. I want the GH instruments more. Even though I <3 Harmonix I really don't like the guitar and my drums still don't register as well as they should. I'm giving my instruments away to my parents but they don't seem to need them just yet. I'm exporting the RB1 songs now D:

So for people who have got the same and started their single player campaign I have a few questions.

Do you pick you difficulty before start your Tour or is it like RB1's BWT where you pick your difficulty before every song/setlist you play?

How exactly does it work. Is it just like BWt only with one person? There is a setlist right at the beginning that lets you linearly go through all the songs to unlock them, right?

Oh god, what did they do to screw up the audio/video calibration? First game used to be lag free on my plasma TV, now I can't find any setting that isn't damn near unplayable.

God, this is like being an AA member trapped in a keg party.

Fuck it, I'm asking for Wednesday and Monday off of work too. 6 day weekend. I will catch up.

There is no single player campaign. You make a band, but the minimum number of players is 1 this time. From within the band tour menu, you can choose the tour challenges, battle of the bands challenges, or start your world tour. From there it's like BWT with one person, but to be honest I've just been playing the Tour Challenges right now.

thanks

wait, it doesn't seem to work.

Go into the extras menu and select "input code" or whatever, then put the code in there. You also have to enable it afterwards by scrolling to the bottom of the cheats/options you have unlocked.

Rockband 2- Available Everywhere!!!! Except Quebec.

FU Ea. WTFITS? I walked to FS to pick up my copy (which ironically, involves me passing in front of EA's office) and the geek behind the counter told me that the game isn't available (legally) in Quebec due to the lack of french instructions. WTF, BLUE = BLEU, RED - ROUGE, YELLOW = JAUNE, GREEN = VERT.. There's your damn instructions.

Anyway, the copy was for the office since i don't even have a 360. I'll probably just have it shipped in. They better resolve this for the PS3 release.

I'll echo earlier complaints about Pinball Wizard, and add Girl's Not Grey to the list - I cannot wait to sing the song, but I am once again hit by the fundamental curse of AFI songs. I remember how much I loved Miss Murder in GHIII when I was playing medium, and then Hard happened, and it destroyed me. I just cannot alt-strum with that kind of timing, and the song booted me hard because of it (I didn't fail or anything, but yeah).

Got my Flawless Fretwork achievement on the Go-Gos, played long enough that I got my traditional Rock Band injury (A sore left heel from bouncing on it), and still feeling fine. Want to get in as much playtime tonight so that my day full of work and reading tomorrow will be a welcome change of pace.

For anybody having trouble getting perfect calibration, I just got it using the 360 controller and tapping A.

Much more accurate to hit the A button on time then a strum / drum hit.

I then proceeded to 100% should I stay or should I go which was something I never did in RB1 :lol

God I've been playing way too much GH3 lately as the HOPOs are killing me in this game D:

Even on breakneck speed they're still way too close together for me to see, ughhhh.

Good idea, I'll have to try that out. I've done it with the stratt like four times and I've gotten wildly different results every time.

Miss Murder is one of my favourite songs in GH3. If their RB2 song plays similar thats good for me.
It plays nothing like it. It's a confusing and frustrating song. (Miss Murder was one of my GH3 faves, too)

anyone know if you can unlock all songs just by doing challenges? There's only two more challenge levels left and I think theres still over 40 songs I'm missing.. I'd hate to have spent all this time doing challenges only to find out I have to start Tour mode and redo all those before unlocking more

Ah well. RB2 looks to have more than enough good songs to make up for a couple of bad ones. YouTube basically says "this game has the best setlist ever".

does it bother anyone that the score multiplier is stretched? come on HMX. :P
Yeah, totally. Come on, HMX -- we're well into the HD era! This shouldn't still be happening.

Maybe it was just the song I was playing, but I LOVE how the fills are done now. Instead of the crash being on the green drum, it acts like a floor tom until the green uber-activator note. The sound also matches much closer to the song's drum set leading to more natural sounding fills.

It has to be a design thing cause it has been in tons of screenshots and I know lots of people talked about how weird it looks.

The only reason I see is being that the note road is slanted, the star power counter should be also due to you looking at it from an angle. Still looks weird after playing #1 so much though.

yes. during the previews a while back they mentioned a feature called jukebox mode. u can set a setlist of songs and watch the rb2 characters do a video like show with the songs u picked.

It should be under the extras, unless they have removed it.

Just wanted to see if anyone else is having trouble like this - I picked up RB2 and the new wireless drums. My old set has actually survived constant play all through RB1 - but I wanted the quieter pads and the wireless.

Well - RB2 is awesome. But the drums are a bit... broken. Whenever I hit the blue pad with any kind of force - it triggers the yellow pad as well. I thought maybe I was off on my timing which is why my multiplier kept breaking - but nope during the fills you can see the yellow track being triggered with the blue.

Also - the D pad doesn't work for up or down, only left and right.

Fucking shame too because the rest of the kit is aces. At least I still have my old RB1 set that still works. Swapped out the foot pads too just to use something from the new kit.

Guess I'll be calling/emailing EA tomorrow. :(

oh wow. holy crap.

Spoonman's drums are INTENSE. as are Bad Reputation. Insane pad skipping! amazing! Can't wait till Colony of Birchmen

edit:

holy FUCK teen age riot. screw that song.

Bad Reputation's drums are a blast to play.

Spoonman, on the other hand...wow. That come up last night as an 'Embarrass the Drummer' challenge. For those who haven't seen them, every now and then, before a gig a message will pop up (like the Benefit Concert ones) only this says that your guitarist or drummer or whomever has been boasting too much, so would you like to swap the last song in your set for one that will bust their ass.

Awesome way for a band to choose to screw over eachother.

Reports of this last week are why I stopped looking for a RB2 drumset and stayed with my RB1 for now. I saw a lot of people saying that the blue pad was activating the yellow pad.

just finished colony of birchmen, it was awesome, however..

for some reason during the long red roll section, the new drums worked great, but after like 10 seconds it started cutting out 60% of the notes..really hope this was a fluke..

I'm sorry guys, but this set list isn't too good imo. The World Tour set list is twice the set list of RB2's.

I'm still going to have to get it just for the GUI update, but it's dissapointing. Oh well.

Er.. What happened to the bass career mode I thought we were promised?

The song menus show you a score, but I assume it's defaulted to the guitar score, since you pick guitar or bass after you pick a song. That's in quickplay. In career. it shows us the number of stars we got on the right and the difficulty we beat it on on the left, and that also defaults to the guitar.

And when you look at the career leaderboards, there's no bass career option.

Lame. :\

But other than that, awesome game.

I think I prefer RB2's to GH:WT's. At least in theory, obviously depends on how the songs play out when I get them both.

*edit* Oh shit, I don't know if I can commit to that opinion. Lets just say I like them both a lot.

this made me giggle. There's a couple really sweet songs on GHWT's list but IMO the RB2 blows it out of the water.. twice.
