McBradders needs to start reading books again.

I need to finish Infinite Jest. And go to the library. I think they're holding about 5 or 6 books for me right now.

Not to mention the huge piles of comics that keep accumulating in my backlog. And a couple of albums that need to be set aside for more in-depth listening.

If you're importing the US edition you should be able to make a US account and buy DLC through US PSN cards, or Entropay

Supposedly Entropay has stopped working on US PSN if you are using a new "card" but existing ones (created before the end of August this year) still work (when you both top up your PSN wallet with it and buy stuff with it).

I'm not sure how true this is as mine was created before then and I was able to use it the other day, but someone might want to try creating a new one and see if it's true.

It's nice that Hyperspeed is back... I just wished there was more than just one speed. The current Hyperspeed is a tad bit faster than what I normally use. :(

I believe in proper rock fashion you are suggested to be using illicit drugs to speed or slow the passage of time to tweak it to exactly the way you like.

I have a Neteller-account, would that work?

We should have Hey School Boy by Stefy in Rock Band...

PS: Stefy is better than Hayley

Sometimes I worry that you would be willing to buy a cup full of wank if it was released for these games.

You'd probably go to the bother to import it if it was a solid portion of wank from each member of Rush while recording "Spirit of Radio".

Costanza would not need to purchase it as he likely has plenty of cups filled already. :lol

Not to mention bags of sodden, ruined pink cotton candy

Don't you own all the Rock Band DLC? Or am I remembering wrong? Even I'm not that bad.

Really? Maybe I'm missing another reference but if what you're saying is if a shitty bassist fails, we won't have the opportunity to save them?

GH:WT is the Libertarian band experience. If the bassist wanted to survive, they should have been a better bassist.

eh, it'll just be like co-op in guitar hero games. a good player will be able to carry a sucky one.

Not through Entropay. Sony have blocked that one, just as I always said they might. (Smug mode on...)

Just like real life. You don't see bands getting booed off cos the bassist sucked. Nobody pays attention to them anyway.

How can you say that when you're named after the bassist in my band?

removed to prevent horror

PS: Stefy is better than Hayley

Everything you just said is incorrect.

Stefy is actually even worse than Hayley. This is very not good. For any of us.

TheGreatDave said:

I inherited it. I probably wouldn't have purchased a good half of it. Even considering many of the songs that I do like there are probably a large number I wouldn't have judged as being worth the money.

*runs*

*FACESTAB*

I will say, as before, "No Fail Mode" should be called "Sid Vicious Mode".

Is there a list anywhere of the achievements yet? Specifically the secret ones. I figure a couple have got to be something about the endlist setlist, I don't know about the rest.

McBradders said:
Wtf is this?

The only "Stefy" we need for Rock Band is coming.

Again, removed to prevent unending terror

No!!! It burnses!

Ahh! Terrible music, horrible, ugly woman who has gone on to make even worse crap that can barely even be called music. My mind gibbers and raves at even trying to say enough bad things about them.

Yes.

For fuck's sake people is it too hard to type "Rock Band 2 achievements" into google yourself so you have to make me do it for you? This shit came out over a month ago at least. To give you an accurate list I'd have to search for it anyway so just fucking look it up yourselves or at least spend the basic, tiniest amount of effort to actually try to do so before you spend far more effort writing a post here asking for it. Sorry, I know I bitch about this sort of thing at other times, but this is just one of the worst ones yet. This is incredibly easy to find information. If it was tougher to find I'd be more understanding, but this just betrays that you didn't even bother to try and find it on your own.

As grumpy an old man as you are, you never fail to bring the lulz.

Can we have Adam Ant now?

Thanks. I try to balance my vitriolic hate of (almost) everything everyone else here loves with general wackiness.

Also RTFM style anger (not RATM anger, I hate them) directed towards the people who would treat this thread like some sort of fucking Rock Band customer service line.

Geddy Lee and Les Claypool prove otherwise.

No, Geddy Lee and Les Claypool make me realize that just like everything else someone will always be better than you at everything that you could possibly even consider doing.

I don't hero-worship. People who are great at things simply discourage me from ever wanting to try because of the realization of how much I will always suck and how I will never, ever achieve that same level no matter what I do. It's kind of like the Total Perspective Vortex.

Vic Wooten almost makes my cock fall off.

BigAT said:
I'm at work and the single site I managed to find that was unblocked didn't list secret achievements.

Then wait until you get home. All I would have done is posted the link which wouldn't have helped anyhow. It's a big list with icons so I certainly wouldn't have posted it.

Jesus, with a few notable exceptions, the beginning of the track list is fucking terrible.

I like the overall track list a lot, but it seems nearly every song I hate is in the first 20 or so you unlock.

I'm glad someone else posted this. There is some truly awful shit in RB2, stuff so bad it makes me pine for "Maps". What the hell were they thinking?

The Main Drag "A Jagged Gorgeous Winter"
Beck "E-Pro"
Bikini Kill "Rebel Girl"
Interpol "PDA"
Jane's Addiction "Mountain Song"
Linkin Park "One Step Closer"
Lush "De-Luxe"
Modest Mouse "Float On"
Sonic Youth "Teenage Riot"
Squeeze "Cool for Cats"
The Replacements "Alex Chilton"
The Main Drag "A Jagged Gorgeous Winter"

That last one I felt the need to mention twice because it is so terrible.

I'm sure I missed a couple, but they really need to patch in something so I can just remove songs from the game so they don't show up in setlists. My wife and I are insanely disappointed at some of the horrendous shit we had to sit through and play yesterday.

There were songs in Rock Band 1 that I didn't much care for, but NOTHING as bad as the list above. Those songs range from headache inducing to wretched and "how the fuck did THAT make it in this game targeted at such a wide audience???". The Motorhead, Megadeth, and Metallica stuff is heavy, but it at least qualifies as music.

Are you hating on the charts or the songs themselves? Cause some of those songs are rad

*Belgand seethes with rage, but is unable to even control it enough to direct it properly.*

Sonic Youth are an amazing band and that is probably one of their best songs. At the very least it's one of their most mainstream. Much more than "Kool Thing" which was oddly released in both games.

I will also say that this is not generally targeted at a wide audience, but an audience with some fucking taste in music. Sometimes they fail on that, but still.

Johnkers said:

Yeah, because then I can start to understand it. But it sure didn't sound like that.

Man, I need to take a rest. I'm not normally this full of hate and rage.

I'll take One Step Closer over What I've Done any day, thank you very much. Beck is an enjoyable song. The rest I have not heard, so I have no opinion.

Cool For Cats is fucking terrible, I'll give you that. It's even worse than Nine in the Afternoon(I never thought that was possible). The thing is, almost all the songs in these games have the ability to grow on you. I think it's perfect for those who wouldn't give some of the bands in the game a listen otherwise.

I like cool for cats. I get really animated when playing that song for some reason. Nine In The Afternoon does it's job because I had friends over and it was a huge hit. gotta have the songs for the casuals.

Huh? I don't see what's so painfully terrible about these songs?

Teenage Riot is damn amazing on drums. Love that song.

edit: De-Luxe is amazing as well.....

I can't stand the vocals on Cool for Cats. At least the singer for Panic at the Disco has a pretty good voice. I know I'm gonna be stunned when the 20 free song list officially comes out and I get to see the songs that were not put on disc in exchange for Cool for Cats.

I do, but songs from the Japanese edition or more Avenged Sevenfold would put an end to that, without a doubt.

Also, I was just reading Pitchfork for the first time, thanks to this thread. I started with the home page, not the link. You know that GIF with the guy reaching into his computer monitor and smacking someone? Yeah, that about sums up my reaction.
