Well, I tried EA's online thing to get my Rock Band 2 guitar replaced, and it said it couldn't create a support ticket. So, I called them, and apparently their system is having "issues" with express replacement, and it would take 21 days to do the "standard" replacement where they send me the empty box and I sent them the guitar back.

Screw that. I'm just going to return this thing and either buy one somewhere else or wait to see if Red Octane's new guitars next month are any better.

I'm so sick of dealing with shitty hardware this gen I could scream. I'm on my third 360, second PS3, second 360 wireless headset, and lord knows how many controllers/various other peripherals. Doesn't anybody do QA anymore?

About the 20 free tracks, that will just go up as a download in the marketplace right?

Because I got my copy and it didn't have any insert card with any kind of registration number, and I made sure I got an unopened sealed copy
from gamestop :(

Should be on the back of your instruction manual.

look on the back cover of your manual.

I think everyone who bought this game, ripped it out of the case and then tossed the case aside. I never noticed that thing on the back either. :lol

I really wish the random setlists took into account what songs you've played in the last 10 mins. I needed a few stars to unlock the Merch Girl challenge and since I was on vocals picked my own setlist of 2 of Nine in the Afternoon and One Step Closer. It gives me the DW Challenge and since I'm not even playing drums I accepted the swap and it turned out to be Lump. I breeze through them no problems and figure I may as well get the mystery setlist out of the way and what do I get. Nine in the Afternoon and Lump. I could've handled one or the other, but both......so irritating.

I also wish that the random setlists took difficulty into consideration. I was in an early part of the tour and it was "Mystery Challenging Setlist", which I took to mean songs on the "Challenging" tier. So I pick this and decide to give it a go right before bed, thinking nothing too bad since I am half awake at that point. So what three songs does it give me? Green Grass and High Tides, Next to You(fast strums kill me), and Painkiller. I think the game had it out for me before the night was over.

All instruments have been confirmed to be cross compatible, drums included. So grab whichever set of instruments you want, and they will work in both GHWT and RB2.

Even RB1 drums?

I finally agree with you on something. Yes, yes and more yes.

Read a few pages back and didn't see this noted.

Any other lefties heard that the Ion cymbals (and presumably the MadCatz cymbal attachment for RB2 default drums) completely disable the cymbal differentiation when in lefty mode?

It's what I'm hearing over at ScoreHero, and it's really putting a big wet blanket over my interest in the game. The biggest update for me (aside from 100 songs, day one duh for me in that regard) was the freestyle mode and the increased flexibility in fills, before songs, after songs (you don't fail out anymore!).

I dunno! Is this even important at all in the big sense of things? I went from almost certainly purchasing the Ion (sans the overpriced brain) solely for RB2 to complete disinterest since it plainly won't work for me with the features it has been advertised with.

What's the chance this is an oversight and will be touched on in a patch? I can't see any hardware reason for this that can't be fixed in software.

Yeah. I probably would've lost the manual but fortunately I had nothing to read while on the can so I just grabbed the rock band 2 manual for some fresh literature.

Cpt Underpants claimed that Lefty mode would keep the blue and yellow cymbals and move the green cymbal to red. I'll test it on my ION when I get home, but that won't be for a few hours.

Aah, I really appreciate it. From what I'm hearing out and about on the net, in lefty mode the red tom acts as the crash, the blue tom and the blue cymbal act as a hi-hat, the yellow tom and cymbal act as an identical tom, and the green snare and cymbal act as a snare.

I just hope that if this is the case it's a bug and they're going to fix it. I've been waffling closer and closer to an ION for months and this one problem will shut that right down.

Then! Then I need to start saving up a grand or two for a proper Roland kit that I won't be able to play my silly little 360 game with. Pah.

Sorry if this has already been answered, but does the new wireless Drumset support cymbal or just the ION drumset?

Yep, the new ones have inputs for cymbals, but only for yellow, blue, and green (like the ION set).

So has anybody found the disable a song feature they had mentioned? There's some songs I'd love to disable for random setlists but don't want to get rid of since I have family and friends that love them.

huh...

not sure if this is a 'no duh' kind of thing, but I just found out that you can rename your characters.

To do so, go into the options and into character data. It'll give you the option to delete a character, rename them, or leave a band.

just an FYI

As far as we can tell, the feature didn't make it into the game this go-around - whether it was a feature cut to make deadline, or whether it's something that is planned for a patch, is as of yet unclear.

I've got some serious pain issues with my fret fingers, but I'm powering through in order to purchase 60s inspired clothing for Don Draper and the Mad Women. Much fun.

You can do it in RB1 too.

EDIT: Beaten

Jumping on the weekly DLC request posts, I'd actually like a pair of songs from Buckethead projects, if only to create a challenge with those and Shackler's Revenge. Perhaps Ignorance is Bliss (with Colonel Claypool's Bucket Of Bernie Brains) and Time (with Deli Creeps).

Harmonix is fast becoming the Peter Molyneux of music games.

All the shit they left out of RB2 better be patched in. No reason they couldn't ship with the things they talked about with a year of development time.

Just how BWT was supposed to be patched in RB1, we'll be waiting until RB3 to have our 'song exclude feature'.

I'll still buy everything Harmonix releases. I can't stay mad at them for long.

So they leave out 2 things (Jukebox mode and song disabling) and now they are becoming Peter Molyneux? They need to start promising actual big time gameplay components before they get to that level.

thank you for attempting to save my high level of embarrassment.

the sad thing is, i had just got done looking through the manual like a half hour ago for my first time (bathroom reading material).

Random: If 120 gig hard drives were in every 360, this game should have definitely just been a download/upgrade rather than a full disc. either way though, i love the hell out of this game.

My 90s one-hit wonder pack would be more like:

Barenaked Ladies - One Week
Marcy Playground - Sex and Candy
Blind Melon - No Rain

But that's just me.

Needs more Fastball "The Way" (I mean fuckin seriously that song is awesome) and Semisonic "Closing Time" but those three are really solid choices.

Just drop all of "So Much for the Afterglow" into Rock Band and I'll be so happy. That album is damn near perfect. Just imagine singing the Brian Wilson style intro of the opening title track and then busting into that amazing so-cal guitar.

I would take this

all good suggestions (except for Barenaked ladies.. sorry.. :( ).. you could probably release a "Best of 90s One Hit Wonders" Pack with like 6-7 great songs in it from bands that no teenager currently would know :P

lol... and include Everclear in there, though to be fair they're more like One Album Wonder.

ok, one more before I leave:

Sublime Pack (while we're on the 90s)
What I Got
Santeria
Date Rape
