I beat the first Metal challenge feeling all about myself.
Then I saw the Infinite Metal challenge

The Jer said:heh. same here. Interestingly enough, I'm not looking for videos of gameplay and the charts, but rather the game modes and the menus...
A question for those with the game:
- what does options -> manage data (from the main menu) allow you to do?
:/ exciting!!Sp3eD said:Same thing as in #1, it lets you delete / rename bands and characeters.

holy shit, is that actually in the game? Do you get that for 1337 stars or for beating the endless setlist? :lol
What's so hard about Chop Suey? You just need to strum fast, hold down the main fret, and tap the alternating fret. I beat it on my first try on expert and I'm not that good a RB player.

Yeah, I unlocked it. It's a setlist of:BenjaminBirdie said:Also, I remember a while ago they teased a Challenge Icon with a guy singing and playing guitar at the same time. Anyone come across that yet?
Like a 6 song setlist? So you can't stop at each song?Coop said:It's like RB1 except you play 6 songs at a time.
You can save and quit at any time in any setlist.Blu_LED said:Like a 6 song setlist? So you can't stop at each song?
LakeEarth said:I was hoping challenges would be more interesting then just yet another list of songs you have to play. I was hoping for "play 5 solos in a row" or something actually different. Infinite Setlists making me play 20+ songs that I've played a million times already is not all that appealing.
The Battle of the Bands tasks are closer to the 'different play'. The bass groove battle, for instance, is purely a streak challenge. Forget points, just see what the longest continuous streak you can pull off over three songs. There was a guitar one as well (using just Bodhisattva) and a drum one (using just Panic Attack).LakeEarth said:I was hoping challenges would be more interesting then just yet another list of songs you have to play. LakeEarth said:I didn't try battle of the bands cause I play single player and I don't have the 360 connected to the internet right now. So its kinda useless, as far as I've been led to understand.
ahoyhoy said:Alright. I've unlocked what I'm pretty sure is all the songs, and I can officially say that Rock Band 1 had such a superior setlist. In Rock Band 2, almost every other song that comes up in the "Challenging Random Setlist" gigs makes me cringe, while in Rock Band 1 the only songs I really couldn't stand were the Bonus Tracks.
Let's hope they stop releasing fucking metal in these DLC weeks from now until the end of the year. More Classic Rock, more Alternative, more Indie even. Just no, more, metal.
Xevren said:No one is forcing you to get all the dlc, maybe some people like metal. I know I do...
ahoyhoy said:For me, each week of Metal is a wasted week. I understand I'm not being forced to buy Metal (although the like 10 Metal songs on the Rock Band 2 disc I was kinda forced into buying), but I would much rather they be replaced every week with better songs.

Duck said:So I was asking around, and someone who is apparently "in-the-know" (dunno if it's true) told me that Misery Business was licensed exclusively by Neversoft. He then said it was supposed to be released alongside the Serj Tankian and Black Tide songs, but was replaced with Crushcrushcrush at the last minute, hence the DLC announcement for that week being delayed from Friday to Monday.
I don't know if it's true, could easily be BS, but there you go.
TheGreatDave said:Rock Band 1 had about 10 worthwhile songs on guitar. I've enjoyed watching YouTube videos of Rock Band 2 more than I enjoyed playing through Rock Band 1's solo guitar game.
BenjaminBirdie said:I spent the weekend tracking down as many RB2 songs as I could find and I have to say that their track list is much more fun to listen to, at least. Stuff like Lush and that Sonic Youth song and Silversun Pickups are quite an exciting direction to go in.
Duck said:define "old hippy garbage".
ahoyhoy said:You know, stuff like Deep Purple, Boston, Foreigner, The Who, Steve Miller Band...
Hippie Garbage all around...
TheGreatDave said:I really like the RB2 tracklist, both to listen to and (eventually) play. It makes RB1 look like a beta.
I hope not, I'd like to play it, as the track clearly has been in the works... though surely if HMX had been given the masters to work from they'd, oh I don't know, be told by the record label they are allowed to use 'em and there's no exclusivity.Duck said:e: ^^^ yeah, no more metal unless it's metallica, iron maiden, or crazy train or iron man. I thought the choices for RB2 were good, but I've had enough.

It'd be hard to transfer a lot of their songs to a Rockband setting. Lots of songs where there are long periods of no guitar. The bass for the songs would probably kick all sorts of ass though.TheGreatDave said:Primus are my current "what the fuck?!" band.
I'm with you on Poison, old Crue, Scorpions, and Skid Row. Why isn't Rock You Like A Hurricane in RB? Loved it in GH3.AMUSIX said:To add to the people bitching about how there's too much metal, or there's too much 'old hippie shit', I'll just say you guys are lucky.
Me? I want more 80's Sunset Strip metal. Poison, Warrant, (old) Motley Crue, White Lion, W.A.S.P., Queensryche, Lita Ford, Scorpions, Cinderella, SKID FUCKING ROW. Why the hell don't we have SKID ROW yet???
