to be fair, it's really hard to compare the two charts being one is, you know.. a cover and all.. I mean GH2 YYZ for as good as it was WAS noticeably different in many parts (for huge Rush fans at least).AndyMoogle said:

TheGreatDave said:And Jesus, I'm so sick of the same old g/r > g/y for chord switches, rather than just having it be g/r > r/y or something. Holding down green and just switching which higher fret I hold down isn't as fun as moving your hand.
In positive news; Bandages is so awesome.

Really not sure about other songs, but in the case of YYZ, the Rock Band chart is FAR more accurate to the song. In some cases this is due to GH2 having a cover version (the HO trills at about 1:20 are completely wrong, and much more difficult in Rock Band) but there was more than the cover to blame. In GH2, there were note changes charted where they shouldn't be (the strum pattern at about 1:30 into the song is a great example of this) or there were strums charted when there shouldn't be (the sound of the fingers stopping the strings by lifting off the fretboard shouldn't be charted). All in all, the Rock Band YYZ is the superior version, not to mention the more challenging.TheGreatDave said:Every single version of a song Harmonix did for GH:2 was more complicated than their RB version. But, again, this is only YYZ I'm talking about, I don't know about the other cross-over tracks.

Well, after playing this YYZ, I'll go with Rock Band's.TheGreatDave said:I really don't care which is "accurate". I care which is more fun.

I'd think you'd lean towards the track that is more challenging, in which case you'll prefer the Rock Band version as well.
Johnkers said:Can you do the others?
Either way, Green Grass is definitely a toughie but the only thing I can say is hold the star power till absolutely necessary and hope you catch all the star power notes to keep it going for as long as you can :lol
but you DO find it to be more challenging (given the "all that more" qualifier) thus NEGATING your comment that all GH2 charts were harder.TheGreatDave said:I don't find the RB version to be all that more challenging, except for the fact I'm used to playing it another way. Once I get used to it I should be able to improve my (currently shitty) score.

I would say I agree with this. At this point with as much expert as most of us have under our belts, the only expert=failure songs that should exist are like the impossible tier DLC out there to make Dave and others happy. But if a song isn't that balls to the walls nuts on guitar (or whatever other instrument) then for most of us a lot of songs will seem "easy" just because we've had... well.... for me almost three years of these plastic guitar games.QVT said:The way I see it, a hard chart should result in 3 or 4 stars, not failure. Failure = only the stupid final song on expert that gets me every time

at some point it is/was an eventuality for these games to stop being about the challenge of beating the songs (except for the top tier or so) and more about the online score aspect of it, especially with friends lists.

shut up. this isn't supposed to be fun. if you want fun, go get your fischer price my first guitar and stop wasting our time on this. fun is for girls who can't stand the heatMcBradders said:So my playing for fun is invalid?![]()

The other way would be posting as much as you can in this topic

TheGreatDave said:I'd love more Hot Hot Heat. I haven't listened to much since Makeup, are their other albums as good? I have them all downloaded but if I ever feel like listening to them I can't resist Naked In The City Again or This Town, so I just listen to that album.
I will admit that the cult looks boring on guitar. I'm guessing drums and vocals are much more fun on this song. Stone Roses looks like a lot of fun. Red Barchetta looks like just a flat out fun as song to play. I am dying here to get home. Looks amazingly fun and judging from the chart and lyrics may be my favorite song in the game. the rest of moving pictures looks fun as well (and limelight seems quite a bit improved over the cover's chart)Struct09 said:Expert guitar DLC videos
