Not true actually, you can make custom characters permanent stand-ins in your Band profile.

I wish there was a way to hide the album titles. Having the album title for a album you only have 3 songs on is silly.

I hate it when an avatar doesn't loop perfectly, so it's hard with somebody as animated as BOB. I need a fixed camera and a stationary target!

YES YES YES.
 
They need to have an option to lock in your instrument and difficulty for a full session in Quickplay to make up for the removal of a traditional career mode.
The load times are already shitty enough without having to wade through more menus every time. Making a play list is not an acceptable substitute. I'm impulsive about what I want to play next.
 
holy fuck that camera eye solo caught me off guard... shit... I hate having 5 stars before a solo and then fail cause the crazy notes... ugh :lol

edit: the band quickplay thing lets u choose one of ur guys but the rest dont show if u have any set up as stand ins

Ballroom Blitz, drums. Gold stars before the outro. Was two misses away from failing.

Green and blue. When I loaded it in Rock Band, I had my fingers in that position INSTINCTIVELY. Brothers gone messed up a man's heritage.

Yeah it definitely doesn't feel right anymore. I hope they didn't massacre Carry on Wayward Son, I'm yet to play that masterpiece in RB2.

Chart seemed virtually unchanged from what I remember.
 
I never really played much of YYZ in GH II because I was still JUST getting used to playing these games on hard, and that song wasn't very newbie friendly, so I don't have enough memory of the old chart to feel that the new one sucks. Either way, I enjoy having it back.
 
how many people find it awesome when a RB1 song shows up in Tour mode. Having RB1 songs, RB2 songs & all the DLC really open up the game.

Megadeth, Paramore, Dream Theater, Dinosaur Jr & Blue Oyster Cult all in the same setlist. fuckin a....
 
I've decided it's not so much that the new chart sucks as 1) I don't see why it needed changing and 2) it's because the kind of song I can't play now. I'm fine going down the neck, a'la GH:2. This now requires me to go up and then back down. AKA: how to make me miss notes. I'm more bitter than anything. I still plead the Lucas defence though.

Why would they change it? Why not just copy it note for note?
 
OK So I played Tom Sawyer OG version, Limelight OG, version, Tom Sawyer Cover, Lime Light Cover and YYZ.

Now I only play on hard (Yeah I know I suck).

I can't believe how different the two versions of Tom Sawyer are.

I can't believe how similar the cover of Limelight is to the original.

YYZ is definitely harder then GH2 I don't remember having as much trouble with it

Really good stuff though!

I'M A HAPPY CAMPER! :D

Because they don't chart the same way in Rock Band that they did in GH:2, and because it's a different version (even if the Wavegroup cover was really good)

There's a simple solution to your problem though. Improve.

And it obviously needed changing because the one in GH2 wasn't even the original, it was a cover.

I can't improve, it's my fingers. They're broken. I'm as good now as I'm ever gonna get

And the cover sounded nearly identical. It's not like they were playing everything in a completely different key or anything.

I'll give you some things, like I don't see why I was changed from Green + Blue to Green + Red, but I like the fact the chart is slightly more difficult. I'm just sick of hearing about YYZ in this thread now :lol

Yeah I meant the charts. Obviously the songs don't sound absolutely the same I was just
expecting a different chart ala Tom Sawyer.

Hey guys, I'm playing GH:2, as well as that that shall not be named it also has loads of other awesome tracks I want in Rock Band, such as; Who Was In My Room Last Night, Jessica, Stop!; Dead and many, many more.

I also bet that Red Octane, as the publisher of GH2, holds some rights over the note charts contained within. There might be some copyright issues if Harmonix copied them directly.

I think Stop!, Life Wasted, and Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart are the only tracks I'd really like to see come back. GH II's set of songs never really stood out to me. There's a crap ton of stuff from the original Guitar Hero I'd love to see come back though.

I'm pretty sure I remember when they split from RedOctane Harmonix said they held the rights to all notecharts.

I just played Bark At The Moon. I've long lived in fear of it; it's been the only *** song on my GH:2 setlist, because I remember it being impossible. Just got 5 stars and 96% hit. I love feeling like the last year has all been worth it!

GH2 has one of the best song Lists ever. It is what hooked me to this genre. I actually played Guitar Hero 1 at a convention before it came out. I really liked the premise so I bought it when it came out.

However, I have really horrible tendinitis in my hands. My hands hurt so bad I couldn't even play past easy. So I sold GH1 and thought I would never play again. However when GH2 came out for the 360 I had to have it due to the song list and the promise of downloading the GH1 tracks. (Sad that I never got More than a Feeling thank goodness for RB)

So I played, and played, and played and I thought my hands were going to fall off but I played through the pain.

All of the sudden it didn't hurt anymore I could play medium, and now hard.
I'm going to try expert one day but the speed and the three button chords kill my hands.

GH2 was really the game that did it for me and it's actually my wife's favorite.

I agree with all the songs Dave mentioned plus I would love Billion Dollar Babies, Crazy On You...damn pretty much the whole thing.

That's the same way I feel when it comes to crazy solo's I just can't follow them and my fingers can't move that fast.

I cry when a Megadeth song shows up. Those songs are HARD.

But yeah, with all my DLC the game feels so different than any other music game I've ever played.
 
Sorry, haven't really been following the thread but has anyone picked up the new RB2 guitar? Just looking for some impressions since my GH3 guitar is about to kick the bucket.
 
I totally agree with the GH2 love. So many great songs I want in RB.

Girlfriend, The New Black, Hush, Life Wasted, Possum Kingdom, Can't You Hear Me Knockin'... I could go on.

So much good stuff.

At least we have Monkeywrench in the pipeline.

It's just like the old strat, only a billion times better.

Actually just little tweaks, but enough to make it worthwhile if you used and liked the previous strat.

I have it....the calibration is awesome but I still prefer the GH3 guitar.
 
I'll tell you what is lame is I bought Moving Pictures and my MS Point total is at 150 points.
10 points from buying a song and having a zero point balance!

Yeah, I picked one up and I really like it. I've been a hardcore Xplorer user since it came out so I had a bit of relearning to do, but I really prefer it now that I've adjusted to it.

I really like that it's pretty much silent, no more blasting the music to drown out the clacking.
Also, the lag calibration feature is really useful and it looks pretty cool too (For a fake guitar anyway)
