Dude, I never even listen to metal, but that album is so fucking fun to play. For some reason no one here talks about it though. Every time I've brought it up no one has responded. :(

It must be fun on drums, because I just want to break my strat everytime I play one of the tracks from Peace Sells. I just barely beat Good Mourning/Black Friday yesterday and still have around 3 tracks from the album that I just cannot figure out.

I love it on guitar. I actually have an easier time with it on guitar than drums for most tracks.

The songs are really difficult though.

My Hero is classic drums, but Hawkin's drumming is just so much more dynamic than Grohl's.

Dude, really? Really?

That's like saying "Luke Skywalker's a much bigger badass than Darth Vader".

It's fucking nuts.

Go listen to Songs For the Deaf.

Holy shit...ok, screw you people hating on Crue...they've provided one of the most fun songs to play in the game. And Saints works so well mostly because it's closest to their work on Dr. Feelgood.

You may go 'meh' now, but I guarantee the charts will be a blast. Everyone points to Kickstart My Heart as a reason to get the album...and it's good, but it won't be the best track to play. For that, I'd say Sticky Sweet, Rattlesnake Shake and the title track will be the most fun.

Oh, and Time for Change will probably suck.

edit: Plus, we finally have proper music to play for the strippers to dance to. Seriously, not a single song in Rock Band is suitable for pole dancing. And if you have to ask 'what strippers?' then I contend that you are handling your Rock Band parties wrong.

Do you have any tips on beating My Last Words and even though it wasn't a a part of the album, Sleepwalker?

But it's Motley Crue. Even when I enjoy playing a track by them I feel bad for doing so.

Yeah, I've found that's one of the problems with the Crue. People can't like them out of principle.

If it helps, read The Dirt. You get to realize that all those stories and myths, and jokes about the lives of rock stars are about them. The type of stuff that Hollywood goes to when they want to show you that a character is an 'out of control rocker!'

HOLY SHIT. I don't like hair metal or Motley Crue, but I will buy the SHIT out of Kickstart My Heart.

PS: Saints of LA is fun as fuck on pretty much everything.

I'll give the album a listen for any other good songs to give you the benefit of the doubt, but all I really want is Dr. Feelgood and Kickstart My Heart.

If Harmonix are cool they'll make a Shoot Em Up themed battle of the bands consisting of Ace of Spades and Kickstart My Heart.

They could even round it off with Joker and the Thief.

I was joking that we had more than enough Crue, through the medium of sarcasm.

Didn't come across, at all.

a little secret of mine
I don't read every post
.

so sorry if I don't pick up on everything.

New crue is better than old crue.
But, i'm not a hair metal fan, and thus not a crue fan, so what would i know. :p

Saints of LA and Kickstart My Heart are the only songs of theirs I like (unless Sixx AM counts as crue, that stuff is awesome). I only have all 3 of their Rock Band songs 'cause I really liked everything else in the cruefest packs, so i bought the packs. Basically, I liked every cruefest band except crue.

Nothing wrong with the crue songs in the game so far, they are all fun... but then again I will never understand why we need all the pages bitching about everyone's tastes in music... oh well.. I have bigger issues my ass hurts from the rape of buying a 120gb hd

There's not much arguing going on. Just a general feeling on "eh" from some people and "yay" from others.

I just want more new artists, rather than more from ones we've had. But I don't care so much nowadays if I don't like the DLC, as it's getting to that time of year where there's plenty of shit to play. Mega Man 9 needs to keep fucking me without distraction.

I agree on the more variety of artists thing

I do think it raises the question of how sustainable a downloadable music store is for a game like this. I think most people who've bought the game can attest it's one of the game's strongest features, but as the library grows how often will Harmonix end up in a position where something they release just doesn't sell well enough to justify the effort? Especially lately, with the content ramping up, how many people are going to buy...say, a non-single track from Blood Sugar Sex Magik? Or that Locksley pack? Obviously new users are going to buy stuff, but when there's 500 songs in a library how difficult is it for a song to stand out?

The idea is that the userbase gets big enough that you'll always get enough people to justify the effort. That said, I think the best solution is to go for best-of 6-packs like Boston or Grateful Dead for $10. Albums are a neat idea but very limiting in execution, since the vast majority of albums have at least a couple filler songs.

Yeah, I think that's logical, but I always imagine a lot of Rock Band's lesser famous acts, like the MTV2 stuff and Locksey, sell because it's the "thing of the week". Boston I'm sure will sell many, many copies, but I wonder if having a huge library is actually detrimental to how many songs people buy.

But the Boston pack was their first album minus one song.

It doesn't seem to be a problem for the Singstore, but I understand what you're trying to say. I'm finding myself being more discriminate about what I buy as time goes on, whereas when RB1 first came out I was buying everything there was just so I could fill up the tracklisting.

Boston - Boston coincidentally falls into the "no filler" list. Obviously it'll be easier to pull this off using albums with fewer songs (see: moving pictures) but I can't think of too many.

Should I reinvest in Rock Band on the 360?

I already have Rock Band on the PS3, but I am considering switching over and selling my old RB gear. So far these are the reasons why:

-The DLC manager on the PS3 sucks balls. All the DLC is stored in one save file, and if I want to delete one song I'd have to erase the whole file and redownload all of my DLC again. Not to mention that I am stuck with all of the RB1 songs in RB2, even the ones I hate. I really don't want Seven or Timmy popping in a random setlist in RB2.
-I get DLC a couple of days earlier on the 360. Not a major selling point, but a nice perk.
-Larger community on the 360 version. Easier to find an online game.
-I can install the entire RB2 disc on the HDD this fall. Faster load times.

I only got the PS3 version of RB1 because of the wireless guitar, but I kind of regret it now. I can get the RB1 360 disc from a friend, and I got enough space bucks to redownload all of my DLC. What do you guys think?

How much DLC do you have? Are you planning to buy new instruments, regardless of your decision to move to 360?

Another rundown of the 500 RB Songs goal, taking into account the recent AC/DC Track Pack news and Dr Feelgood.

---

There are 13 weeks of DLC left. Including RB1 exported songs and RB2 songs, there are 386 songs available as of Sept 30th. Assuming the 20 free songs and the AC/DC Live Track Pack both do not get their own weeks, there are 424 songs.

Assuming each album get its own week...

The Colour And The Shape = 12 songs
Nothing's Shocking = 10 songs
Texas Flood = 10 songs
Best of No Doubt = 12 songs
Dr. Feelgood = 11 songs

...There are 8 weeks left, with 479 tracks total. To meet their goal of 500 songs, they only need to output 3 songs (specifically 2.625 :P) on non-album weeks.

And of course, this is assuming the upcoming albums aren't also being released alongside various singles and/or packs.

---

Harmonix is a machine, seriously.

So did this happen to anyone else? I got one of those offers before you play a gig to be sponsored by Hot Topic. I would make a ton of money if I did this, and all I had to do was play a Paramore song during my set. So I accepted, and after the gig, I made $400 bucks, but lost 80,000 fans. :( The public knows, Belgand. I felt like post-Black Metallica when it happened.

Perhaps this means that the Paramore in RB was included more due the insistence of MTV than because Harmonix thought they were good and deserving of inclusion. At the same time we had Sum 41 in GH1 so all bets are off as to being able to say that Harmonix have unimpeachable taste.

Four hours and no posts?!? Is something going on that I'm not aware of? Is Haley giving out drive-through blowjobs on the street? Is Europe lost in Time and Space?

We need some The Shock of the Lightning. Oasis are so rad

Anything to counter more Crew would be welcome for me... I'm sick of not spending money (these games are a sickness).

But yeah, more Oasis is always a good thing.
