THIS.

As much as I like RHCP I didn't get any of the songs this week. Didn't really like BSSM and the censorship was really really shitty.

As for next week, All Right Now and Bad To The Bone :D

I'd like to see songs from these bands:

In Flames
Soilwork
Amon Amarth
Trivium
Nightwish
Slipknot
Volbeat
Rammstein
Opeth

Ok basically I want more european metal except for two of those. :lol

I agree with most of these, and Soilwork and In Flames would have to be stuff from over 6 years ago, I can't fucking stand their newer shit, it's terrible.

Oh I STILL want Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, and GREEN DAY. Also the No Doubt pack, but it looks like it'll be at least two weeks until we get that if the Dr. Feelgood news is true (which it probably is).

To be fair, Suck My Kiss has really lax censorship – motherfucker is censored to motherfu----.

Freezepop, The Mother Hips, Bang Camaro, etc.
I get your point, but anything by Bang Camaro will not be in the 20 free songs.

TheGreatDave said:
Surely most of the bonus 20 will be stuff they don't think would sell in the store.
Based on what they're selling now, it's either going to be 20 songs that people probably wouldn't care about, or 20 songs that are so good Harmonix can use them as a counter to GHWT.

I'm pretty sure there'll be an album every other week.

Peace Sells was released with RB2. Ignoring Moving Pictures (shoehorned in with the 6 singles, since it was supposed to be released in August), we get BSSM two weeks later. Then two weeks after that, we're getting Dr Feelgood. Including the week of the 14th, there would be six album weeks left in '08, with five albums known. With the out-of-the-blue leak of Dr Feelgood, it's definitely possible we'll get one more 2008 album announcement.

Don't get me wrong. I'd prefer for the 20 free songs to be based off smaller bands than shit I've heard a million times on the radio. I think it'll be a mix of both, though.

Trivium would probably work. The Hot Topic crowd would eat it up.

Opeth has too much symphonic stuff in their music. I think it's great, but the game is "Rock Band", not "Rock Symphony". :D

Slipknot and Rammstein suck. Not familiar with Nightwish/Volbeat/Amon Amarth.

I could go for Soilwork and In Flames. That is my kind of shit. Can you imagine a full album DLC of Jester's Race, Clayman, or Colony? Wow. I'm not sure anyone would be able to play it, but hey. :lol

I think so, too. Lynyrd Skynyrd would be a perfect fit, imo – especially Sweet Home Alabama or Free Bird. Doesn't HMX license songs in threes? There's Simple Man and Gimme Three Steps... and that's it.

Will be up Tuesday morning to download....

Pretty Fly by The OffSpring
All Right Now by Free
Bad to the Bone by George Thorogood

...before work!!

I'd also like to see more (not covered) Iron Maiden. Even better would be the Album "Seventh Son of the Seventh Son". :D

As for Pretty Fly, that song was popular when I was taking Spanish classes in high school. Sadly, it had an effect on me counting to ten (wish I was joking).

speaking of Singles, I think they should make the soundtrack available.

Would? - Alice in Chains
Breath - Pearl Jam
Seasons - Chris Cornell (acoustic only, but dammit it's a great song)
Dyslexic Heart - Paul Westerberg
Battle of Evermore - The Lovemongers (Heart, actually)
Chloe Dancer / Crown of Thorns - Mother Love Bone (how awesome? so awesome.)
Birth Ritual - Soundgarden
State of Love and Trust - Pearl Jam
Overblown - Mudhoney
Waiting for Somebody - Paul Westerberg
May This be Love - Jimi Hendrix (yeah, I know)
Nearly Lost You - Screaming Trees (der)
Drown - Smashing Pumpkins (8:08 of a song that almost broke the Pumpkins up)

Man...fuck Harmonix...

The week of September 8th is the last week I skipped buying any tracks (Charlene wasn't paid for)...

Since then?
Hands Down
One of Those Nights
The Conjuring
Good Mourning/Black Friday
My Last Words
All 7 tracks of Moving Pictures
Sorrow
She Sells Sanctuary
You're No Rock N Roll Fun
Love Spreads
All 16 tracks of Blood Sugar Sex Magic

Next week I'm picking up...
the 3 Offspring Tracks
All Right Now
Stop!
Bad to the Bone

After which I'm getting all 10 tracks on Dr. Feelgood

So in one month, I'll have bought nearly 50 tracks...twice...and I know I'll be grabbing Texas Flood and No Doubt as soon as they hit. At some point this becomes a sickness.

Also, I'm bummed that "The Kids Aren't Alright" didn't make it on this Offspring pack.

Kept ending up with 11 numbers when there should have been 10?

Don't Make Me Wait is one of the most fun songs in the game.

Let's be real though. The song may be fun, but the average Joe isn't gonna buy a song cause it's fun. He buys cause he knows it. Locksley just isn't a big band (yet at least).

um, I completely fucking disagree. the only strike they have against them is that almost all of their songs are 8-12 minutes long, which is moot considering there are songs in RB already going that long. how much opeth have you heard? any?

and i've never once heard them called 'symphonic' before. Melodic, yes. never symphonic, because they aren't. sure you aren't thinking of someone else?

there's tons of songs that would be phenomenal for the game:

The people not listing the Screaming Trees in their buy lists are as bad as the ones that skipped out on the Stone Roses a couple weeks ago. BUY THEM

Offspring pack is awesome. Been waiting for that one.

Stop! by Against Me! - sorta meh
All Right Now by Free - this'll be fun to play
Bad to the Bone by George Thorogood - also will be fun
Cream & Bastards Rise by Harvey Danger - this is okay. we'll see.
Nearly Lost You by Screaming Trees - shit
Push It by Static-X - fucking metal. ugh.

Absolutely; it would be as funny as hell to listen to people try to scream through The Politics of Starving. You Look Like I Need a Drink would be awesome as well.

StrikerObi said:
Also, how do you put up Harvey Danger and NOT pick Flagpoll Sitta!?
The guitar part would probably be way too repetitive. Does it ever break that same pattern the entire song?

I think I'll skip all the songs this week to be honest. Those aren't the Offspring songs I want. I'm kinda in that mood that I think a few people were in where Rock Band 1 just isn't appealing to me any more. With World Tour out soon then RB2 I'm not feeling as motivated to play as I usually am.

StrikerObi said:
Awsome! Against Me! Stop is a damn good song but I also would have preferred Thrash Unreal or Piss and Vinegar. Also, how do you put up Harvey Danger and NOT pick Flagpoll Sitta!?
Because Warner Bros is holding on to the masters. They're actively trying to get the licenses for it to get put up. This is what you have in the meantime.

Just beat Constant Motion, Panic Attack, and Sleepwalker back-to-back-to-back on guitar, bringing my list of failures down to eight of the songs released to date. My left index finger is sore.

TheGreatDave said:
What are your failures? I'm at 251 for 251, but I avoid stuff I know will just make me sad.
I'm pretty much the same.

I was browsing the Music Store by difficulty last night and most of the 20~ songs I don't have were in the Nightmare difficulty.

It's down to seven now.
Bad Omen (come within about five notes of beating)
Devil's Island (haven't made it past the beginning)
Green Grass and High Tides (will NEVER beat. Die at 97% every time)
My Last Words (come within one note of beating)
Ride the Lightning (Will never pass. The beginning of the solo is just impossible for me.)
Snow (Hey Oh) (I can hit 95% of the notes until about 15%, then my brain just shuts off from the grinding monotony. I could probably beat it if I paused it about every 10% and took a fifteen minute break.)
Visions (I've only tried it once. The worst song in a rhythm game ever. Could see myself beating it with the sound off)

see, I'm totally in the minority because I enjoy this song, AND I enjoy playing it.

I've only beat it on drums with hyperspeed (I know ME right??), but that's only because my foot was acting up at the time and wasn't doing the weird bass pedal hits, which really became the only problem.

I think it's intense as fuck to play and I really enjoy that. I'm really glad they decided to put it in.

I'm still having this really annoying voice chat issue online (360). I'm playing vocalist, and people can hear me talking through my headset just find during performances (hold down trigger to activate chat) but when in the practice area, song selection etc when the other online band members are chatting, I can hear them but they can't hear me when I try to talk. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there something blindingly obvious that I'm not doing?

Wanna hear a secret? I downloaded Snow and then deleted it after about....15 attempts in a row to get past the bit where it's red-blue over and over again, about a minute and a half in. It is the only song I haven't beat that I've downloaded, but it's hidden from memory so as not to annoy me.
