wow! congratulations!

im not that good on guitar....but I have just cleared every song on expert drums =)

Have you people ever did a tour online? I would love to do that, I know there are great guitarists here, im a good drummer, so we can try someday.

If you'd ever like to play co-op just send me a message if you see me playing. I can beat every song on expert guitar too. I play with JavamanJake quite a bit, a lot of fun.

Cover for RB:AC/DC:

goatse.cx.gif... just imagine it here, I'm not actually going to subject people to it because that would be impolite. OK, maybe in the crudest possible ASCII (pun intended).
Code:
    -={ ( )0( ) }=-

           AC/DC
            Live
    rock band track pack

Fixed.

The "Troublemaker" video is terrible. Also while I've long thought that Brian Bell looked like a sex offender now Rivers is really outdoing him with that mustache. It makes him look like he's trying to be some sort of hipster with an ironic mustache. Completely lame. The beard was cool and worked for him. This just makes him look like the kind of white trash guy who will inevitably end up raping a family member and/or pet perhaps simultaneously, perhaps while drunk and/or tweaking, almost certainly while filming it for YouTube.

The Fucking Champs are pretty rockin'. Although it kinda feels like metal medleys of your favourite 8 bit videogames that don't actually exist. Not that I think that's a bad genre to be a part of.

Some of the songs definitely have that feel, but not all. It's certainly an area they work consciously in with songs like "Extra Man" and "Flawless Victory", but it's not the full extent of their work.

Oh and on another note for the others here into Pavement (i.e. all right-thinking peoples) if you're not also listening to Mission of Burma, well, you really ought to.

Got a $25 gift card today. That's going straight into paying off the upcoming bundle.

Any 360 owners hold off on the game for the instrument bundle?

Drop me an invite if you ever see me online playing RB2. It would be nice to play some world tour with people I sort of know. I'm mainly a bass player but I can hold my own with Guitar.

I don't know that band. I'll get on fixing it.

Peter Prescott works at a record store in my neighborhood. Nice guy, and great fucking band.

Still, I thought they were back together full time?

Oh and for Dave the album you want is Vs. as it was their only studio LP during their original period. Signals, Calls, and Marches was an EP and The Horrible Truth About Burma was a live LP

They have since reformed and released two rather good albums as well.

They're more of a Slanted and Enchanted era Pavement comparison though with more in common with the Pixies, Husker Du, Sonic Youth, and other 80s alternative acts.

Also not really related, but I keep pushing Hum (You'd Prefer an Astronaut suggested) and Failure (Fantastic Planet suggested) as well. Both are essentially 90s alternative acts that incorporated a great deal of texture and shoegaziness into their sound. Hum was more spacey, but Failure was more grunge. Both are technically classified as part of the 90s space rock scene, but too many people think of 70s style space rock when you mention that so I tend not to.

For Rock Band we desperately need Battles - "Atlas". I'm only half-joking. It would be a great track on drums. As for vocals, yes, there are actual lyrics. Surprisingly despite great, astounding praise live I didn't fall for them live all that much. Sometimes instrumental acts can be a tad dry live and fail to connect with me. Not always (Godspeed You! Black Emperor were great live, but ludicrously loud... oddly it was the loudest show I've ever been to), but this was one of those occasions. Not a lot of audience interactions either. They were too much in their own little world of looping and effects and it felt a bit too distancing to keep me into it. The high crash cymbal, however, is awesome. Good band, but I can't quite call them essential personally. I wish I could though because I desperately want to love them. "Atlas" is fucking amazing though. Definitely one of my top ten singles of last year.

Speaking of shows from the past year when they do RB: Japan they will almost certainly have a song by the pillows and they'd better make that DLC here in the USA.

I don't know about the ACDC pack. Sure their songs rock... but I'd feel dirty if I paid 40$ for 18 songs :(
then don't!

I know exactly how I feel about the ACDC pack. I won't be getting it. easy.

I bought the disc when it came out but plan on buying the bundle. I can probably sell the wrapped disc from the bundle for close to retail so it doesn't really matter to me.

I'm more interested on if the GH drum kit will work with RB and which set will be better overall. I refuse to own 2 sets of fake drums.

Everything works with everything. The question is "how well will x work with y?" GH:WT drums > RB2 probably isn't as smooth as RB2 drums > GH:WT, due to a lack of any work on Harmonix's part.

Yeah, I saw him there earlier this year. I guess he just takes time off for touring and whatnot. It's funny — I've never been one to be star-struck, and I never think twice about being around musicians I admire at shows, but there's just something neat about buying records from a (sort of) rock legend.

Also, I agree with you on the Battles bit. It'd never happen, but if any song from Mirrored was to be RB-ized, "Atlas" would have to be it. Not necessarily my favorite song from that record ("Tonto" probably is), but it just has an awesome, infectious groove. Like you said, though, they're nothing special live; technically and sonically, it's a great experience, but it's all just a bit "empty" feeling.

I'm glad my best friend is such a huge fan. He asked me to go halves, and I responded I'd do so if I could have the d/l code. He told me that was his intention since he loves them enough to want them on disk, not on his hard drive. So, at $20 for 18 songs, I'm definitely in.

Yeah, but it was odd because I kept hearing nothing but praise for their live show before Mirrored came out last year. I think you're the first person I've ever heard who actually agreed with me on this.

Hmm... now since Mission of Burma are a Boston band with an incredibly influential alt. rock pedigree maybe we can hope for some of that. Not certain if it would really be the best choice for for the game though, I'd have to give it some thought and see if I can think of some good tracks.

I likewise stand firmly in my demands that we must have Ted Leo + the Pharmacists in RB. If for no other reason than he deserves the exposure and won't get it through the rest of the mainstream media (even if the music press will continue to knob-slobber him in a rare case of being completely right).

Awesome man! I've been too chicken to try the latter Metal songs on Expert. You've been kicking my butt on the leaderboards and I'm not thinking I'll be able to catch up. :)

Thank you, I have to tell you, since April, this is the only thing I play, I love rock band with a passion...and I took some months of vacations since my trip to USA (that means a lot of free time)....that helped a lot :lol

Im thankful that my drumset (the one that came with my RB1 bundle I bought on April) still works almost perfectly. It is entirely sock modded and my pedal was broken and reconstructed...but it works. I would love to have the new drums....I offered my PSP + $50 here in Ecuador as a prize for a guy that can bring this to me.....still no luck =(

I hope to join some of you guys online for a tour....this will be fun! The only problem is that I dont speak english...I hope this is not a barrier for our enjoyment.

Ha, that's interesting, since none of my friends who've seen them were very impressed, either. Out of the two times I've seen them, the first show was preferable — it was a couple of years ago, and their performance was little bit less... mechanical, like their older material.

I need RL friends who are into music and have enough taste to want to attend shows like that with me.

Two separate local profiles (no Live) on my Xbox 360 system have permanent members in my band. Is there any way to include them in band photos on my Live-enabled account? Am I forced to recreate them under my XBL profile in order to take band photos?
Does anyone know the answer?

They're hard to come by, for sure. I'm lucky that my wife is game to watch most bands. She hung tight while I watched Tyondai Braxton make twenty minutes of noise once.

But, yeah, Battles would be awesome in Rock Band.

I bought the game, but now am going to buy the bundle and then I think I have a friend lined up who, when he wants to buy the game, will buy my sealed copy for enough that it will still save me money, and saves him some money too.

My girlfriend has never purchased a CD in her life and on the few occasions I've managed to get her to go to shows she's invariably complained that it's too loud (while loud is essential a lot of clubs do go louder than necessary for the confined space) and it sounds better on the album (again, sound guys and crappy club acoustics and PAs are to blame for often miserable live sound) so I have to really, really search to try and find shows she's willing to go to. I've mainly been lucky with some free in-stores lately. We were going to see The Decemberists last fall, but the show was canceled. Thankfully I'd already seen them about a year prior.

But yeah, when even They Might Be Giants is more than she can handle live we're dealing with problems.

At least she's into Rock Band and has gotten up to Expert guitar (only Hard/Expert in GH3 though).

Actually looked into this today after reading your first post. Winds up that, yeah, you'll have to recreate them. Fortunately, you won't need to rebuy instruments, so a few big gigs should give them enough cash to dress properly.

Gah...once again, I try to randomly play online, and once again I'm playing the same damn on-disc songs. I try to substitute in a band, figuring their world tour will force them to play other songs, but they just desperately search out the 'make a set lists'. The game I was just in, the guy couldn't find any, said 'hmm, doesn't look like there are any more', which was almost the only thing he said, and then quit.

I'm heading back downstairs to try again...live GT AMUSIX...but could REALLY use a 'filter by % of DLC'...put markers at 10, 25, and 50 percents.

i will add you cause i run into the same problem all the time. I once picked Teenage Riot and the people I was playing with just failed out on purpose : (

Put in your info and it'll help you find people with matching collections of DLC. Plus the option of setting must-have songs and the like. I'd say that since they went to the bother to even find the site they're also slightly less likely to be complete assholes as well.

It's worse when your girlfriend does like concerts and so you have to sit through fucking Journey or Aerosmith.

Edit: at least the Journey concert had Cheap Trick and Heart and Aerosmith had Stone Temple Pilots, I think.

Good, good stuff. Thanks for putting up with my inconsistant playing. Sure, perfect one song, then 80% the next :)

Definitely need to play again...so nice to play with someone who not only has the DLC, but also enjoys playing whatever comes up.

Also, I need to work on Rio.

You're insane. Journey in concert is a sight to behold. Heck, they rock the stage so hard they can destroy the world.

noone noticed that...did they?

Are there any brick and mortar stores that sell replacement RB drum pedals for <$30?
I'm having friends over Saturday or Sunday so I can't wait for shipping.
