To clarify:

The guitars included in both the PS3 and Xbox360 bundles are the new RB2 guitars. They are the same improved hardware, and feature the same improvements to the fret keys and strum bar, and sport the new auto calibration censor.

The guitars included in the bundles are the same as the stand alone guitars in every way except for the sunburst body.

Both the PS3 bundle and Xbox360 bundle show that the guitar included is the black body guitar with the new wood grain design on the neck. We've done demos, interviews, and live events with both guitars and have been more than happy to display both. Both guitars are awesome.

Hey gang,

Here's the DLC for this week. It's a hearty helping of 7 Nivana tracks! Dig in and enjoy!

Breed
Lounge Act
On a Plain
Polly
Something in the Way
Stay Away
Territorial Pissings

All tracks are masters.

The full Nirvana 7 Pack will $10.99 (880 Microsoft Points) or $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) per track.

These tracks will be available on Xbox360 on October 21st and on the PS3 on October 23rd.

Nirvana!

So just a chunk of Nevermind made it. With the songs allready out, that just leaves an AWESOME 3 pack we're missing (Smells Like Teen Spirit, Lithium, Come as You Are).

Should've called it the "last half of nevermind plus Breed pack!"

hopefully GH4 will have the live acoustic NY album as DLC. Then there's In Utero. I would LOVE to play Scentless Apprentice.

Polly is still one of those weird selections- especially since they're not even doing a full Nevermind. Maybe if they chart the guitar body slaps to drums it'd be worthwhile, otherwise it's worse than Silver.

And yea, we might as well throw Smells Like Teen Spirit on the Rock Band 3 rumor list.

Needs more Smells Like Teen Spirit!

Especially considering that the song's beat is in the drum trainer, and appropriately named "Smells Like That Beat"!

No Teen Spirit, Come As You Are, and Lithium sucks. What the hell happened with those?

Still stoked to have Breed, though.

Pretty much my thoughts word-for-word. The only song I recognize by name is Breed. I'll have to check the others out in case I've actually heard them.

Whichever game gets Teen Spirit first has lost. It would be the ultimate "fuck fun, lets pick the hit" choice.

I would have hated these songs a month ago, but after Drain You I'll check the charts.

Wow, totally unexpected. I'm still hoping for a surprise announcement of the 20 free tracks on Monday, but it is nice for Harmonix to put out something people had largely written off.

Really not a Nirvana fan, but I'll listen to these tracks a lot over this weekend...any particular ones I should be focusing on?

Will be passing on all of next week's track probably. Nirvana just isn't that great. Innovative and important in rock history, definitely, but I just don't like them very much.

"Breed" (Christ ... finally), "Lounge Act" and "Territorial Pissings" for me. I really can't stand Nirvana anymore, but these songs I still enjoy. Here in the bay, they've never left radio. Hell, Live 105 practically ensures you'll hear at least one Nirvana song an hour ... and it's probably going to be "Smells like Teen Spirit."

I'm really glad that they picked some of the few Nirvana songs that aren't sickeningly overplayed actually.

Best DLC week ever. It's the first time I actually love every song being released.

I'd say at least Breed. It sounds like it'll be really fun.

So for $11 you can have all of Nevermind except for Nirvana's 3 most famous/popular songs..........

fucking sigh.....

Breed, Territorial Pissings, and Stay Away are my favorite from the bunch.

I'm looking forward to singing On a Plain as well.

The only decent one of the missing three is Lithium. Smells Like Teen Spirit is an awful song in every way, and Come As You Are would be boring as hell.

Yeah, possibly only the second most iconic punk song in the history of the genre is awful in every way... rebel against the mainstream as much as you want, but Smells Like Teen Spirit is arguably only like 1 of 3 or 4 punk songs that are perfect in every way.

Ugggghh. Nirvana? Jeez, Harmonix, 1 track was more than enough.

I'm with you, dude. I can deal with the two current tracks. I personally don't need any more. Glad people who wanted 'em are getting some of the songs though.

It would be boring as FUCK to play. Therefore, not perfect in every way.

I don't believe it was being talked about in the context of the game, thus the point stands. As for "boring as fuck to play", I can think of five songs easy that this thread has jizzed for that are far more boring to play than Teen Spirit would likely turn out to be.

Yeah, Polly and Something in the Way don't seem like they'll be much fun aside from vocals.

But still! They are great songs from one of the seminal bands of my childhood/adolescence. Ahh, the angsty memories.

I'll be buying the second I get the chance.

I don't care how iconic it is. It's a boring song with bad lyrics and lame instrumentation. I'm not "rebeling" against anything. I just think it's annoying. Smells Like Teen Spirit is a bad song regardless of popularity.

But please continue to spam emoticons if it makes you feel good about yourself.

We were talking about missing tracks...from the pack released FOR the game. What would make you think discussion wasn't related to how fun it would be in the game? I hope you read the part where the OP said the next song would be boring to play...oh, he must've been talking about REAL guitar.

Edit: And for clarification, whatever easy songs this thread has been jizzing for, I haven't been in on it.

no, history and how it reflects on the song and the album as a whole makes me feel good about my opinion of the album. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, just as long as you are aware that almost every punk musician and music history major disagrees with you entirely.

DarkJC said:

reading is fundamental

I'm used to this thread bitching about songs being easy or not, but his quote was that the actual song itself was awful. Come As You Are was what he said would be boring. reading before critiquing is probably helpful.
