The tiers are different. The chart (on guitar) has quite a few radical changes. No slider notes in the intro, solo is different, some bits charted differently. It also appears twice in your game, so you have two Free Bird's.

I can imagine it made it harder for some people. And in the context of the game, it doesn't really feel natural unless you literally use the touch strip, which no one does.
