Nope. I have my 360 on right now and it is the quietest thing in the room. I can hear my PC and some wind chimes outside over it. Although it does get slightly noisy after about an hour, but it is not unbearable.
It's quiet compared to your old ass pc. Any time my 360 is on, it's like a vacuum in the room.

My PC is quiet when idle btw. It gets loud when I'm gaming but that is expected.

For me:

PS3 - Can't even hear it unless the fans kick in which doesn't happen to often, and even then it's not loud at all.

360 - Loud

360 with disc spinning - Hey, who let the Boeing 747 in the room?

My 2007 Xbox (now dead) was extremely loud from the moment I turn it on. My PS3 get's really loud nowadays after a few hours of playing.

I have never understood the appeal of MMOs and I probably never will. The combat always seems so... terrible. :\
Raids were somewhat epic. Even in Ff11, Dynamis, having like 40 people taking down Bahamut and still sometimes getting wiped, pretty fun.

I wrote a paper about MMO addiction in my abnormal psych class. tl;dr: people have bad/boring/mundane lives and MMOs are an escape and provide social contact with other people in a controlled environment. Nobody knows if you are a hideos fatty in WoW.

You could say this for any game. Look I'm playing borderlands, R1, R1, R1
Not really. There's a lot more moving around and stuff in other games. I've watched my co-workers play WoW and it looks like the dumbest shit ever and I ridicule them for it.

Doesn't stop them from talking about it for hours like every day though. If they're not playing it, they're more than likely talking about it.

Borderlands is a smaller WoW. But with guns. Same shit, quests, exp for completing said quests, same boring ass quests, kill 10 boars?check. Kill 10 midgets? Check. Go to Arid bad lands? Go to bad lands in Wow? Loot system, potions, co-op quests...it's not exactly the same but they are similar.

Not saying that Borderlands is not a "loot-whore" game. It most definitely is. But it's a lot more than just "1111111112".

Plus, it has a definite ending, something that WoW and other MMOs severely lack.

wrong.

What's with the MMO ig'nance? If you don't like them, then that's fine. But there are TONS of things to do in the game besides the combat. And yes, there is an ongoing story in WoW, but it's "slow moving" since it effects the entire game world.

I played the Star Wars Galaxies closed BETA. That was my only time doing a MMO. I played it for about 3 hours. I got tired of killing rats, then I went to explore and got killed by some big ass mofo. I died half a planet away from where I spawned. So for me to not lose anything I needed to go get my corpse. That's when I quit and uninstalled it.

MMOs are not for me.

I liked City of Heroes until they broke the game several times over, the combat was really fun :(

Anyone want to play some Rockbands? I understand that's a videogame thing that this site is based around :o

I don't think I have ever had worse luck in a video game in all my life

Trying my new stick in HDR and going random select every match. I couldn't buy a win.
