The one by Britney isn't technically a cover. GaGa wrote it for her for her Circus album, but passed on it.

Also, disappointed in Hit the Lights' cover of "More than a Feeling."

Archie if that was released as a Britney Spears song and Gaga never did it, but it basically sounds almost the same to me at least, would you still like it?

Or are you buying into the "idea" of Lady Gaga and the music is secondary?

If you can't hear the difference between Britney and Gaga, you're insane. One is good. One is awful.
 
I dunno; it's a pretty unfinished demo, but it's not dramatically different from Gaga's version.

Methinks the fan fervor is clouding judgement.

Neither can sing well one just has a "hipper" image right now. Those songs are so similar I refuse to believe her image isn't playing a part in the decision.

Gaga can sing well. Most her songs are hardly vocally difficult but she's done plenty of live stuff that shows she can sing.

Girl just has a charisma in her performance that's completely lacking in the Spears version.

Retarded and untrue. The music is selling her because it's great pop music. She's became a huge star because of her image, but the music had to be there to back it.

Pop music is more about image, timing and a financial push into the media more than it is the music these days. Just about every single pop star and their music is interchangable.

Just jump to 2:43 if you're a guitarist. That's one solo, which is mostly ho/po triplets, that's longer than all of Motorcide. And there's a second solo that's 1:10 long. And the major drum pattern is a three-under-two polyrhythm.

It's a hard song.

You can say that going back decades. Doesn't change the fact that Gaga's music has been so successful because it's actually good.

So anyways, Bamboozle was a good time.
Aquabats killed it day 1. They fought crabs on stage.
Against Me played too much new stuff, but was under a fake name so small crowd, which was awesome
Protest The Hero played all Fortress and new stuff which pisses me off, i wanted to hear Keiza stuff.
Ke$ha is awful, really really awful.
Paramore was really good live this time, unlike the last time where we had rain, shit mixing, and haley being half-sick. So that was cool.
Hanson was nostalgic, and was kinda entertaining
Attack Attack=Crabcore live. I saw the last song, it was Stick Stickly. They did the crab move, then busted out neon glasses and started raving at the DDR Breakdown. Hilarity watching a hardcore mosh pit to it

Day 2
OK Go was disappointing, poor mixing, no energy/stage presence
Fun. wasn't too bad
MC Chris was awesome to see, just because he did MC Pee Pants during the set.
Motion City Soundtrack was good as always (Very interesting set of NIN covers they did at the friday kick-off show)
Mute Math was the best band of the weekend, barely over Aquabats
Minus The Bear was good, nothing special, good set
Girl Talk was awesome, just people relaxing and jamming for a bit
Matt And Kim were really good, got the crowd going leading into...
MGMT: Giant mosh pit. Seriously, they all just descended to the stage during Kids. That pit was worse than the Protest the Hero pit, i shit you not
Weezer, however, was awesome. Played mostly stuff off of Blue and Pinkerton and Red. Was really cool actually. Did play the popular singles with that though (Hash Pipe, Dope Nose, If You're Wondering)
 
If you want a shitty cover look up Vanessa Carlton's version of "Paint It Black." Maybe if she hadn't tried to emulate the "singing" of the original song it would have worked...

I was going to say about csb's "shitty cover of shitty song is shitty" comment, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes make lots of shitty songs good (most of them aren't shitty to begin with... but there are some that are).

Kung Fu Fighting is one of the only songs I truly despise, that chart is just pure shit.

I got the new Steve Vai and Job For A Cowboy songs that popped up on RBN at some point during the weekend, pretty fun stuff on guitar. I'm starting to think that Homeward Bound is my favorite RBN track on guitar, those solo's are just so much fun.

Anyone pick up the Tecmo Bowl XBLA game?
