I'm not going to fall into any kind of > trap, because I know that's ridiculous.

I just lived with way too many dumbass stoner hippies in high school and college to ever be able to tolerate Grateful Dead, Beatles, Bob Marley, etc. ever again.

Huh...not what I wanted for DLC (cough, Pantera), but some good stuff nonetheless. Enough to not proclaim "Worst DLC Ever." Love that Smithereens song- "A Girl Like You." Grateful dead is fucking awesome on guitar, why the hate?

Grateful Dead is a band that I owe to Rock Band for showing me how awesome they are.

Love about every one of the songs they have in Rock Band.

I will admit that I had a blind hatred for grateful dead even before the same thing happened to me in college. (Still love Marley but I have roots in Jamaica so what can I say)

However, Goddamn if the grateful dead songs aren't amazing in Rock Band. I had never heard most of them and they are some of my favorite songs to play on a regular basis.

Touch of Grey is one of my favorite songs. I love Girl Like You too.

So what band has the most DLC in RB now?

I'm too lazy to count myself. :D

why don't they ever branch out instead of giving us the same shit all the time?
Smithereens are new shit.

Also, they probably license the songs in batches and dole them out over time. That's why we get a lot of DLC from the same artists.

Lady Gaga was a breath of fresh air for the stagnant DLC release schedule. HMX has fallen back to their old ways. :(

Didn't you buy the Grateful Dead songs?

I thought with your new computer you wouldn't have time to troll.

I'm on call for census crap right now and can't delve into a vidya without getting phone calls and shit.

HMX put up a survey for their next possible band-centric project.

Included are:

The Eagles
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
Queen
U2

..And a spot for write-ins.

Survey is broke. Even if you say you wouldn't buy any of those band games, it still asks you to select which ones you would purchase.

Just say at least Zep, Floyd, and/or Queen and help us brothers out.

I would definitely take a U2 Rock Band before an Eagles Rock Band, that's for certain.
Same.

I fucked up on my write-in. I put Iced Earth. They've got enough material to do it, and shit would be awesome, but I doubt they get many votes. Should've put Metallica or something.

my answer was easy. Led Zep and then paramore as band dedicated game. /smugface
I did Zep for birdman and Slayer as my write-in.

Paramore just needs a good stand alone track pack. I don't really feel like playing a full fledged game where you're performing Emergency at church camp.

I honestly would have figured that Touch of Grey was being held back for RB3, especially with its harmony potential.

That does take care of all the Grateful Dead tracks that they had originally licensed, though.
No, there's still The Golden Road. And probably several more tracks, since I doubt they'd license two more songs and that's it.

edit: there seriously had better not be an Eagles or U2 game before Zeppelin.

There is literally one Eagles song that I'd want in any game (Those Shoes), but that's largely because it was used as a sample in a Beastie Boys song which more than improved on the source material (High Plains Drifter). Why did Joe Walsh have to join such a wretched collective of douche nozzles. :-(

Best DLC announcement in a few weeks simply because of "Touch of Grey".

I'm convinced all you RBregs are going insane praising Gaga but chastising the Dead. Get some fresh air. Srsly now.

Thanks bro.

They should bring back encores for Paramore: Rock Band and during Hallelujah at church camp have Jesus appear and sing vox, or jump on the axe.

nah I agree they don't need a band game but I figure if enough of us idiots put Paramore as a option they will maybe hit us with a track pack. :D

Only Archie and Dave love that shit.

Tragic Kingdom Deep Cuts, Judas Priest Live and now more Greatful Dead. More regurgi-dlc. Can't wait for The Cars B sides next week! Of course give me Surfer Rosa and I'll stfu.

I'm guessing this is a joke since Queen is the only band I could see Harmonix getting their hands on enough masters for to make a 40-song game with. Still voted for Zep, Floyd, and Queen though.

They're just gauging what the interest is for these. There's no guarantee that any of these will come to fruition. But if they can go to one of these artists and say "Based on a survey, you'll get 1 million + sales just from hardcore fans."

The Zep and Floyd masters are in pretty excellent shape, all things considered. Like the Beatles, those bands had enough foresight to ensure that their music would be able to last for decades to come, thanks to careful archiving. Getting 40+ song games from those two bands won't be a problem at all.
