I fucking hate Seinfeld. It's such an atrocious show in my opinion.Sp3eD said:Seinfeld = tops.

Bats aren't our problem actually. The Sox are in first or second place in most of the hitting categories in the league. They've just been getting beat up in the pitching department and have poor defense. Which is the exact opposite of what we were sold as a team this year.corkscrewblow said:We're just the Rays now bitchass.
The team has been good since 07. Last year the young pitchers were developing (needed because of the Kazmir to LAA trade) and Pena got injured in August which was huge. More importantly, where the fuck are the bats in Boston? Such a good team on paper.
oh and we actually have a closer now!

Guess they fixed their problem from earlier. I'll still wait for it to get into the store proper before purchasing though. No sign of Dharma Baby yet.

I'd have to agree that it's pretty amazing how fast some of this stuff ages; Seinfeld was a damn phenomenon at the time and you can't even quote from it anymore. And I don't mean the goofy in-joke stuff, I mean words like "shrinkage" and "spongeworthy" that use to be part of the zeitgeist.MrOctober said:The only problem I have with people saying Lost is the best show ever is that the only real test that matters is the test of time. It just ended and it's still fresh in your head and it's all you're thinking about so it's very easy to for other things to get forgotten. Staying relevant and recommended after a decent chunk of time has gone by and people can evaluate from a distance without a geekgasm bias is a huge task. Taking a step back from something and then still appreciating it as much as you used to is very hard to accomplish. The test of time is really the one that determines best show ever.
Gotta push out Halo before CoD:BO destroys it.DuckRacer said:Fable 2 is good. Then again nearly no one's looking forward to Fable 3 so maybe that's the minority opinion :|
Btw, Halo Reach's coming out September 14th, RB3 (or no other games for that matter) to launch in September confirmed.
Any videos of this? This better hit PS3.TheGreatDave said:I've already done a perfect run of You All Everybody. I WILL TOP THE LEADERBOARDS.
MrOctober said:Also when you people say best show ever are you actually saying "my favorite show ever"? Because there have been countless shows before you were born that you may not have seen or even resonate with you currently that changed television but never get brought up in these arguments. Mash's finale had more people watch it than anything in the history of television (until the most recent super bowl) so I'm sure a ton of those people could make a far stronger case that that show is superior to your favorite show.
Affeinvasion said:I don't think LOST's viewership was anywhere as large as they would make you think it was. I'm sure (like any show of its type) a lot of people jumped ship after it started getting long in the tooth. American TV is generally abysmal when it comes to pacing. I know we've had this discussion before, but ugh...television drama is farts: intriguing at first but then you realize its just a whiff of shit.
This pretty much. For anyone with Rdr on ps3, any issues?Jet Grind Radio! said:That's what I automatically assume whenever anyone uses "the best ever."
They have this sick deal at FS. Trade 5, get 3. Think I'm gonna get rdr along with Blur and not sure about the 3rd.corkscrewblow said:I beat it and I never noticed any. Just make sure to turn the contrast and saturation up in the settings and it looks much better.
Well, it's not really fair, but a lot of people tend to just mention something is the "best ever" when it might not exactly be the case. Unless someone is actually breaking down why it's the best ever, I'm just going to assume it is their favorite program/movie/album/etc at that moment.MrOctober said:Well that's unfair. You can't just throw that line out there like that. My favorite movie is definitely not what I think the best movie ever is. There's a difference. And I understand that both represent a fine line that can't be accurately measured but still.
Welp, Renee tortured and nearly killed the head honcho of teh supar secret organization, time to transform her into a plot device that causes Jack to rampage for several episodes and suddenly not do anything in the finale!Terrordactyl said:Isn't it Dharma Lady?
24 finale was a good season finale but the absolute worst series finale ever. Wtf were they thikinh they set up all this shit with tony and this organization in season 7 and decided not to even touch on it when they knew this could be a possibility.
That being said Chuck was fuck awesome.
The worst thing about the album is that HMX will likely never release a Pantera greatest hits 6/10/12-pack now. :/ Floods should be awesome and the first good non-RBN DLC in months but still. Hopefully we get Guns 'N Roses at E3.AMUSIX said:I can't believe I'm not excited about Pantera tonight. Fuck them and their choice of Trendkill. I'd really like to know who's call that was...I mean, is there a rights/writing credit thing I'm not aware of? Something similar to Skid Row's 'greatest hits' debacle?
How were S2/3 trainwrecks? Sure they had some rough areas, but S2 gave us Ben and Desmond and the second half of S3 was Lost at its best. Also, although LOST seasons 1 and 6 are excellent, truly some of the best seasons of any show, the trainwrecks that are seasons 2 and 3 prevent the entire series to ever be considered among the best of all time. Seasons 4 and 5 were impressive in their ability to clean up and wipe away the bad taste left by the preceding seasons.
The worst thing about LOST is that there was no plan. They didn't map out the series from the beginning (or, if someone did, he didn't bother to mention it to others). Season 1 got away with the constant introduction and ignoring of characters and threads because it was still carrying the stumbling confusion of the group after a plane crash. However, by season 2, there was still no direction, and the writers were piling on as many mysteries as they could think up, just to see which would be the most interesting to follow (the same way they did with characters). The good that came out of the 2nd and 3rd seasons were purely accidental (Desmond is a prime example of this). The whole 'let public opinion be our guide' mentality hurt it the most in S2 and S3, and really made the show come across as a mess.DuckRacer said:How were S2/3 trainwrecks? LOST would benefit greatly if they were able to go back and rewrite/refilm seasons 1-3 now that they know how it ends.
You're right. I was tired and had just finished the LOST finale. My bad.Terrordactyl said:Isn't it Dharma Lady?
