i can barely understand what worthington says in his natural accent...nah i'm glad he's being forced to do an american one. :P It's shaky in Avatar, but I thought it was really well done in Terminator.

I have seen the movie 3 times and I have to say that Cameron has seriously created something really special here. He is a huge asset to Hollywood and the man deserves every ounce of praise and ticket sale this movie is getting. I cannot stop thinking about it and what I think I love the most about the movie is that he executes it with such confidence and authority and that is why even through some minor cheeseness in the script or dialogue you still take the movie seriously and it still has a very strong emotional impact. This is slowly turning into one of my favorite movies of all time. Will be seeing it a 4th in IMAX on new years day:D

The movie has a lot of emotional movements that would appeal to girls/women too.

LieMAX 3D

Because that's what I saw it in, and everyone should be like me.
 
Imax 3d = bigger. More "popping" out of the screen.

Liemax = sharper picture than real Imax. Still more popping out of the screen.

Real 3d = better "depth" to the image, sharper than real Imax.

Dolby 3d = poop on a stick.

Xpand = darker screen, crazy glasses.

Seems that Liemax or Real 3d are the consensus choices.

Cameron doesnt get enough credit for being such a smart motherfucker when it comes to making his movies. He literally has something in there for all demos. Its not coincidence that Titanic and Avatar made such mad bank.

And multiple strong female characters. My daughter loved Neytiri, and Grace was wonderful.

It's one of Cameron's trademarks that I love about his movies. Ripley, Sarah Conner, Neytiri. Great, strong female action leads. As it should be.

I've seen Avatar in Dolby 3D and RealD.

They are both relatively the same. Dolby3D is not a poop on a stick. :P Actually the image was a bit sharper, had less ghosting and I think it also had slightly better colors. Stuff also "pops-out" a bit more in Dolby.

The main difference are the glasses, Dolby3D's are just kind of bulky and yet the spectacles are not big enough to cover your entire viewing area. Kind of uncomfortable compared to RealD. I'm guessing this will depend on your face structure as well. :P

I'd go with whatever you are already familiar with.

Hell I was watching some interviews today, and his Australian accent is tiiiicckk! I think he did fine, I really don't hear it slipping out at all!

His accent, for whatever reason, only slipped in human form. In avatar form, I totally bought it as American.

For me, I first heard it when he was an avatar (only a little). But after that, it all came from the human form.

I'm lucky this was my first experience with 3D, I was really impressed, I don't want to ever see a movie like this with-out it being in 3D. OFFTopic, does anyone know if Prince of Persia is going to be in 3D! But I'm going to go see it again in 2d a few weeks from now! I'd love to be able to get a new TV for the BD release, if not I'm for sure going to get a 5.1 system! I'm still in stereo-land!

I just saw "Christmas Carol 3D" at REAL IMAX. The only narrative 3D film I've seen. I had some issues with ghosting, when not looking straight on, also it was painful by the very end.

Speaking of which, was he supposed to be Australian in Terminator Salvation? I kept on giggling when he sounded so Australian at random parts. It slipped in occassionally in Avatar, but it seems like he's almost perfected his american accent.

I love Worthington though, I still remember his role in Gettin' Square way back in 2003 (although he was overshadowed a lot by David Wenham hilarious performance, he still managed to impress) and then his bit role in Love My Way. Cant believe he has shot to stardom so fast.

No, like I said, that is what was so bizarre - Terminator was shot a year AFTER Avatar. How his accent regressed is beyond me :lol

Well, I think one thing you might not be taking into account is the director. It's entirely possible that while shooting Avatar, Cameron actually did multiple takes if he screwed up, and also gave him advice and critique on his accent, etc. It's also possible that on Terminator, McG didn't give a flying fuck and just shot and edited whatever he got out of a take regardless of accent.

No doubt. I somehow cant see McG being the relentless perfectionist that Cameron is. Also, how funny is it that 7 months after McG's crappy movie in Cameron's old franchise comes out, Cameron releases a new movie that makes TS nothing more than a footnote in history?

I don't think Cameron did anything at all to contribute to TS being nothing more than a footnote in history. McG did that all to himself by himself. Let's not give Cameron credit for everything! :lol

IMAX 3D glasses vs LIEMAX 3D glasses vs REALD glasses

The wife wears glasses (no contacts available, she's a beautiful nerd) what's the best option? IMAX 3D glasses pop over the top fairly well as I recall.
 
Went to see this at 5pm and the theater was packed. I thought it was a masterpiece and that all the hyping Cameron did for it was justified. I hope we get more mature CG movies.

I also wear glasses here is my opinion:

1. REALD
2. IMAX 3D
3. Dolby Digital 3D

I love REALD glasses they fit over my glasses and are really comfy! Imax had me adjusting them a lot (but the 3d was dang good) and Dolby made me want to stab my eyes out.

While Terminator Salvation was crap, it was, in all fairness, made on a much, much tighter schedule than Avatar.
