Fixed.

Also, Avatar is tracking to make more this weekend that TDK did in its entire 4th week (Fri-Thurs, $39m).

Regarding their neural interface/bond tendril, seems that some people think it's the actual sex organ, when it's not. It comes out of their heads because, being an interface for communications between Na'vi minds and other minds, Na'vi or not, it makes sense that it is directly connected to the brain. As for its use during sexual relations, it's a ... shall we say, potentiator. Imagine making love to someone (that hopefully is not being forced to do it with you lol) and feeling their emotions or even their thoughts at the same time. It's not a new concept in science fiction, especially of the written kind, by any means, but it should be pretty awesome, especially if the connection does not enter some kind of infinite feedback loop and you die in ecstasy lol.

As for the actual organs, I can only say that in the scriptment, when the Avatar is "born", still in orbit iirc, one of the techs tells Josh/Jake "Congrats, it's a boy", at which point he scans the Avatar's body until a certain point and his eyes go wide.

It's amazing how much people care about which movies make the most money.

And by amazing, I mean really sad.

Do you cheer for a sports team? Just as pointless and sad. Yet we all do it.

I only care when it makes an interesting story. James Cameron's success with Titanic and Avatar is something I don't see being repeated by any other person.

$380,540,297. #10 all-time.

It's official.
Yup. Also, I just realized that it's Friday so we won't be seeing much international take updated. Most countries include that in the weekend numbers, so Monday will be the next major update for overseas.

Seems tracking to ~$120-$130m overseas and $50-$55m domestic. Still utterly absurd. (Avatar's 4th domestic weekend will be enough to break the previous 3rd weekend record of $45m.)

So Jake have 5 fingers and Netiryi 4. If they have a kid, will the kid have 4 regular fingers and a super deformed 5th finger, kinda like a 6th toe? The sequels needs to address this!

I don't see how you can say it's "tracking" to do $50-55m (-27% to -20%), that seems more like wishcasting even if it's possible it will do that based on how often it has surpassed expectations before. However, $45-50m is much more reasonable based on its performance this week.

Like I said, it's hard to say. People are arriving at those numbers by looking at what happened the same weekend last year (the % jump movies had after the national championship game, which depresses movie tickets a bit), as well as Avatar's previous weekend performance. There's certainly plenty of people predicting the $40m range as well. The epic storm in the midwest right now might dampen the weekend a bit, too.

Friday will be the tell - if it "only" hits $12m, we're looking at at ~$40-$50m weekend. If it's $15m+, we're looking at over $50m, easy.

Nope, it's not.

And it's got this:

Meanwhile, it has also been reported that Cameron has set his sights on another project.

According to film magazine Empire, the director has bought the rights to Charles Pellegrino's soon-to-be published The Last Train From Hiroshima: The Survivors Look Back.

The book chronicles two days during and after the atomic bomb drops at the end of the Second World War, using eyewitness accounts from Japanese civilians and American pilots who survived the experience.
Now we know why Cameron met with that dying Hiroshima survivor. Variety is also reporting Cameron picked up the rights to the book.

It will have the double whammy of getting all of the Song of Ice and Fire guys into the thread hoping Martin finished the new book.

"The Official AVATAR Crow eating thread of SCULLIBUNDO WAS RIGHT!"

Seems fair. I've never seen a forumer so dedicated to a cause that everyone else seemingly thought would fail.

Finally saw this movie today. Went to a theater that had Real 3D set up, honestly I was blown away. The depth was amazing. Great movie too.

After finishing the entire 2007 script, I dont think that it equates to a 4+ movie...I think everything that was cut from this script could fit within 35-45 minutes or so...a lot of stuff isnt that huge.

Im sure the script was even longer when production began in 2005-2006, so im guessing this script was abridged even further ...

Pretty sure crow threads are a no no.

Yeah, I got banned for a week a few years ago for continually bumping an old thread someone started about Vince Young being the most over-rated athlete of all time. I got a lot, and I mean a lot of millage over bumping that thread over the years.

Sadly it is gone now, because I was more than willing to take another week ban to bump it again after his 99 yard game winning 2 minute drill this year.
