honestly cannot believe some of you do not think this will be a financial success. Even if the movie turns out to be complete shit (which all sings point to this not being the case), the budget, last we heard, was at $240 Million, with reports of it being up to 300 Million+. When you spend this much on a movie, you don't just send it out to die, you market the shit out of it. Case in point: Transformers 2.
Fox thinks (read: hopes) this will be Titanic all over again in terms of box-office success, so they will market it accordingly. Plus, Cameron has already expressed interest in sequels of AVATAR, so, logically, Fox would want to exploit that by making sure the first one is marketed properly. Market anything enough, and people will see it. On top of the marketing factor, they have the whole 3-D gimmick to factor in, and if it truly is as amazing as they say it is, then people will watch it just out of curiosity.
Combine marketing with quality, and there's no way this movie doesn't make 300 million. 400 million is an easy possibility domestic, and we could easily see this movie making more than TF2 worldwide. Bottom line: Don't bet against Cameron.
