Dude, come on, how did you NOT giggle at some of the sensual scenes in the film?
yes. Let's be honest here. He went out like a chump.g35twinturbo said:I like this.

The trailer did nothing for me and I was initially hoping it would flop.
So I went in very skeptical.
This movie blew me the fuck away. The story is hardly original but well executed and the visuals, my god the visuals. I probably forgot that I was watching a CG movie. The facial animations of the Navi were simply sublime. It took a little while for my eyes to adjust to the 3D, but 15 minutes in it didn't even cross my mind anymore.. I was just in it.
At the end of the film the audience cheered and clapped. Perhaps because I watched it in Amsterdam, and there may have been some international crowd present, but I've never had that happen with a movie, ever.
All in all a mind blowing experience. The sad thing is. I don't care for buying/seeing it on blu-ray. What would be the point. It can't replicate this experience.
It will do $3 billion in global box office.AniHawk said:The Na'vi and Eywa versus scores of warheads
It will be 3 minutes long and cost $600 million to make.
All the silly pre-hype around the movie got on my nerves, especially considering the trailer did nothing for me.saiftk said:I don't get why people act like this. Not liking the trailer so hoping the movie flops? Wow. :lol
GhaleonEB said:What really sucks is that clipped section would be perfect for the "Eywa hears your" cue, instead of the trumpety cliche we got.

Some potential Avatar II spoilers so I'll spoiler tag it in case anyone wants to remain like a baby until it's out, but it's really just speculation.
MP: So I know your character doesn't make it in the end, but...
SL: Don't be too sure.
MP: Well that's what I want to know, could we see the rise of Quaritch?
SL: Listen, the rules are different on Pandora. I can't say one way or another, but if you remember I say, "nothing's over as long as I'm breathing." Well my mantra now is, "nothing's over as long as I got DNA."
MP: I like that prospect! Who knows where people go on Pandora.
SL: I think it depends on where Jim wants to take the story. There's a whole universe of stories to be told and he's just scratched the surface.

Pretty much every emotional scene in this movie was hilariously horrible. However, that sex scene did make me and a bunch of other people laugh, a few guys even walked out.BrandNew said:Dude, come on, how did you NOT giggle at some of the sensual scenes in the film?

I've seen this happen so many times; someone makes an awesome movie that earns boatloads of money and just because of that, they make a sequel and it turns out just awful.
Transformers 2 wat

We were waiting for a giant 3d cock to be swung out of the screen.Al-ibn Kermit said:Pretty much every emotional scene in this movie was hilariously horrible. However, that sex scene did make me and a bunch of other people laugh, a few guys even walked out.
When Jim woke up and said "What did I do!", the whole theater just lost it and started laughing.

Mr. Pointy said:Just wondering, since the DVD/Bluray release is scheduled in mid-2010, does that mean Avatar is going to have the standard 12-18 week cinema run like all movies do nowadays?
Won't that hurt its chances to beat Titanic?
Actually that makes sense. Fox releases the 2D DVD/Bluray but continues showing the 3D movie in cinemas until whenever.duckroll said:Only in 2D.
Mr. Pointy said:Has anyone heard anything about Jim Cameron's temper flaring up on set?
Not "a" cell phone. Apparently there was an entire collection around the exit by the end of the shoot. :lolGui_PT said:That story where he nailed a cellphone to a wall?
Nope. Never heard of it.
Worthington mentioned it in an interview with Leno, and I heard someone else say it in an interview - I think it was Cameron himself - but I can't find it. Wikipedia has this:Mr. Pointy said:This was during Avatar? Fuck me...
Need link.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_CameronSam Worthington, the latest lead actor to work with Cameron, stated on the Jay Leno Show that Cameron had very high expectations from everyone, and would often use a nail gun to nail the film crew's cell phones to a wall above an exit door in retaliation to unwanted ringing during production.

Apparently by the end of production there was quite the collection up there.
I wish movie theaters had the same policy.

Though apparently he has mellowed out quite a bit since Titanic.

I remember reading that on the set of Titanic, crew had a t-shirt that said, "You don't scare me, I've worked for James Cameron."Gui_PT said::lol
I wonder if working for him is scary
