I only pay loose attention to WWE.

Can someone quickly explain why CM Punk is now longer a hot item? A few years ago, it seemed like he was at the bleeding edge of the promotion and turning lots of the narrative conventions on their head, etc. I found that very entertaining.

These days, it seems like he's got much less buzz. What's going on?

Turning baby face happened.

Lost all the edge once he signed the contract and wasn't an "outsider" anymore.

Where is Professor Beef?!?!

That fool owes GGG an apology! Kane is in better shape than 90% of the roster. Six pack and ripped arms!

man poor fans that must be gut wrenching because the whole night all the faces lost all the fan favorites lost and the biggest lose of all was the mind boggling decision to not put bryan in the rumble..idoits lol

this is the fourth wrestlemania in a row where the focus is on a person who is not a full time member of the roster

three Rock WMs (don't forget the one where he was "host"), and now Batista

meanwhile, the most universally popular superstar they've had in ages is pushed to the side because... why?

We should have all learned this from the summer of Punk.

Batista may have won the rumble, but the WWE now can see that Reigns could be the face they're looking for with the audience getting behind him. Lots of good storylines coming out of the rumble, so I'm satisfied.

Reigns should beat Ambrose for the US title and the unify it with the iC title.

the main reason people got behind Reigns was that he was not Batista. put Ziggs, Bryan, Punk in there with reigns and its another story.

Bryan needs to crank up some Rage Against The Machine as his new intro music methinks. Bombtrack anyone?

When someone comes back it's kind of expected they'll be thrown in a top spot, so there's really no need for them to "earn" their way to the top as it just feels as though it takes someone elses spot.

I get that, I just don't think A) Batista is worth it. He isn't THAT huge. and B) Even if the reality is that he's just coming in and getting an immediate bump, you can still sell it better than they have. Nobody knows anything about Batista or why he came back. You knew he'd win but nobody knows why. Poor job of build up but that should be expected. It's a catch 22 that has been a problem for the WWE for years. Outside of Miz, of all people, they are deathly afraid of letting a young gun like Reigns get a huge push headline WM, yet they don't take the time to build and develop this young talent up in the other PPVs. I mean, I don't know if Roman Reigns has it to become a star of if he will just be a bust, but that's the problem is that even WWE doesn't know.

Because Vince.

It is better for them to have him not in it though, because everyone knew Batista would be winning and to have Bryan get screwed twice in one show?

Oh god you're alive! Glad to see you breathing brah

I hope this carries throughout Wrestlemania season. Would love to see crowds just completely turn on the product and not just during Wrestlemania or the Raw after.

I paused the Rumble match to talk some Kendrick Lamar with some people so I'm like 10 minutes behind... but damn Roman Reigns is solid. Cesaro needs a push. Dean Ambrose will have a great career on his own. Sunny is excited.

Phil stopped caring after he landed his huge contract payday, mucho merchandise sales and got to shag AJ every night. Dude doesn't even bother to style his hair any more.

I was so hyped that I download the PPV app on my 360 and was prepared to spend $$$. Glad I didn't.

The crowd opening their collective assholes on the Rumble was fantastic, though. From the moment Rey hit the ramp and they realized D.Bry wasn't coming the boo chorus was on.

Between them and Jesus Reigns I don't regret watchinig the match, as by the book as it was. Glad Roman got his props from the crowd, well deserved. Batista & Shame.us on the other hand will smell of shit for days.

Yep, agreed.

Because they suffocated him at the height of his popularity. it turned from Punk vs the system into HHH and Friends Power Hour, then they focused on two years worth of Rock/Cena. Punk held the company's main title for well over a year, but his matches were still considered secondary to whatever Cena was doing at the moment.

I'm sure they have lots of marky mark crowds lined up from now until WM XXX to avoid just that kind of response.

I'm so detached from the product now, that looking in on the nonsense just makes me laugh. It's absurd.

Based NJPW keeping my fire burning though.

I dont really understand what parameter uses Vince or Steph or HHH to push/main event someone.

10 years ago, that type of reaction bryan have with the crowd was enough to push him to austin levels.

But in fucking 2014 what does the mcmahon family? Put Bryan in a clown angle with bray wyatt.

And the funny thing is that, that angle puts Bryan WAY MORE OVER than before, instead of bury him.

I mean, BATISTA IS THE MAIN EVENT OF WRESTLEMANIA IN 2014??? WHAT THE FUCK????, I am really confused.

Things WWE needs to notice:

Dolph Ziggler is over.
Cesaro is over.
Everyone loves Daniel Bryan!

That's awesome. They seriously made us suffer with some of these matches and candidates. Last year's rumble was fantastic. The Crowd was the best thing of the night.
