RR6 vs RR PSP; which is better?

Both of them seemed the same to me when I played them. X360 versionhas better graphics and smoother framerate (no duh) but the PSP version is no slouch either, it has the best graphics for a PSP game (IMO) and it's on the go RR.

LOL @ this question.

But then again I haven't played RR6 for 360 yet so I can't give an honest answer based on experience :(

Both are fun as hell.

PSP is good because I can play it anywhere.

360 is good because I can play online.

These are the only RR games I've ever played BTW.

I've played both far enough to unlock the 'end' credits. I'd say RR6 is a better game due to:

1) Superior control (analog thumbstick versus so-so slider)
2) Superior graphics (much more detail and reflection plus 7 times the resolution)
3) More cars
4) More tracks
5) Surround sound
6) Online play
7) Achievements, downloadable ghosts, leader boards

And that pretty much covers it. I do prefer Ridge Racer PSP's soundtrack over RR6's, but it really doesn't matter when you can just take all the RR music (or any other music you want) and use it as a custom soundtrack anyway.

RR6 is basically like the sequel to RR PSP. Nothing new with the game play, but there's a lot more everything, plus online play.

You can't go wrong either way, though. :)

Rather than make a new topic with a similar question, I'll just post mine in here. RR PSP vs Wipeout Pure, which is better?

Wipeout Pure by loads. Better gameplay, more engaging tracks and content, etc.

bahahahahahahahahaha

you play ridge racer with the analog stick

sorry, you make me laugh.

bahahahahahahahahaha

Even though I've played RR PSP much longer than I have RR6, I would have to agree that RR6 is the better of the two. It essentially is RR PSP, just further refined and of course with much better visuals and online play.

RR is a console experience anyways, so that's a key reason as well. I don't think RR will ever get any better on a handheld than the PSP version, but still, it'll always be a little better on a home console.

Uhh, yeah, it does have better graphics (it f*cking should)...but not a better framerate. Both versions run at 60 fps.

I've played them both and like RR better, not a huge wipeout fan. I think RR is one of the best looking and playing games on PSP, great music, and good track designs. I tend to think that if you like RR better on consoles you'll like RR PSP, if you like Wipeout on consoles more you'll like Wipeout Pure.

RR vs Pure?! Missed that.

Really tough to call and it all depends on what kind of mood you are in. RR is much more relaxing and straight "fun". You can just pop it in and start having a blast. It's fast, beautiful, and plays great.

Pure is so very different. The game is brutally difficult at times and really demands a lot from the player. This isn't the kind of game I think you could easily play casually on a train or something. It DEMANDS your full attention. When you really get into it, though, it's very rewarding and fun. It certainly feels more satisfying than RR in that regard, as the challenge level is quite high. The insane amount of downloadable content really adds to the value as well. Unfortunately, a 1.50 PSP is a necessity if you wish to fully enjoy it. You MUST load this game with UMD Emulator and enable the higher clockspeeds. On a normal PSP, you get ~30 fps with slowdown. On a 333 MHz PSP, you get mostly 60 fps. At 60 fps, WP could be the best looking PSP game yet released. Just amazing looking.

Hmm, this makes my choice more difficult. The framerate issue wouldn't bother me much, so I won't need to do all that stuff just to get 60fps. I think i'll just go with whatever is cheaper :lol
