RTX 5000 Super series of GPUs expected for Q4 2025

Problem i have with those super releases, 24gb is nice over 16gb, but i have a feeling the 6000 series will pack a lot more v-ram because of consoles moving a gen forwards where they probably pack 32gb memory. So 24gb seems a bit of a niche.
4GB memory modules are unlikely to available for mass market graphics cards in 2 years, were just about to get 3GB memory modules. How long did we have 2GB memory modules like 7 years? But I do think 4GB is coming sooner than expected.

How much over MSRP are the current 5000 cards? How much over MSRP will the new Super cards be when they launch?
Well the brand new 5050 is at MSRP.

The 5060 and 5060ti 8GB are below MSRP.

The 5060ti 16GB is at MSRP.

The 5070 can be found below MSRP otherwise it's at MSRP.

The 5070ti is above MSRP by $30 ($780) but can be found at MSRP commonly online and even more commonly locally (there's 5070ti at MSRP where I live right now)

The 5080 is above MSRP and rarely it's found at MSRP (just saw one this week), the 5090 is never at MSRP except for Nvidia's own 5090.

So yea outside of the top end the vast majority of the 50 series is at MSRP or below it and this is in tariffs land (US). Meanwhile for AMD they only have 1 card at MSRP and that's the 9060XT 8GB, everything else is above MSRP.

1080ti launched in 2017, the 1080 debuted the 10 series in 2016 and the founders launched for $700. I was there Gandalf, I was there 3000 years ago..

MSRP was as follows:

GeForce GTX 1060 (3GB) 08/18/2016 $199
GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB) 07/19/2016 $249
GeForce GTX 1070 06/10/2016 $379
GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 11/02/2017 $449
GeForce GTX 1080 05/27/2016 $599
GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 03/10/2017 $699
Nvidia Titan X 08/02/2016 $1,200
Nvidia Titan Xp 04/06/2017 $1,200

Edit:
Didn't read your previous comment.

For some stupid reason Nvidia charged $100 extra for the GTX 1080 founder's edition (i.e. $699, instead of $599), even though it had the crappy blower fan. However, maybe they did so due to early adopters, and/or those who wanted to buy 2 for SLI?

4GB may be coming but I wouldn't expect them to appear in the mass market segment anytime soon.
People need to realize that memory chips are hit with the same density scaling issues as the rest of the chips industry.
There's a reason why we didn't have 3GB chips in G6 (despite the specs allowing such) and also why we didn't see 50 series launching with them in 25.
Denser memory chips if made on the same process consume more energy and cost more. And if they're moved to a newer process they consume less energy but cost even more probably.
And if this needs to be said these additional costs would be passed onto consumers via the graphic cards prices.

Abundance for months now. They are going to have to drop the prices on these cards or lots will be sitting on store shelves. $1200+ for a 5080 is ridiculous.
wow, glad to hear it. I personally just started losing interest in the market between the prices, the low supply, etc. At some point you just have to say "fuck it".

4080 in mine, 2080 in my wife's.

We barely have time for games these days anyway, and I'm not buying into Nvidia's bullshit pricing, so we'll run these cards until they essentially implode.
I might just move back to consoles if pricing isn't better. Would syck to lose my steam library though.

Eh, nothing could ever put me back on consoles. I'm a bit of a control freak when it comes to games these days, gotta be my way. I have no further tolerance for someone 'curating' my experience for me.
